Blind Item #3
This former pop princess and now a singer/actress depending on what day you ask her has been trying forever to have children with her celebrity husband. He has always indicated to her that the issues must be her fault and she has been through batteries of tests to determine what could be wrong while not undergoing any of his own. He also swears he would love to have kids with her. What she has just now discovered is that he had a vasectomy right before they got married just so he would not have to have any kids with her.

ReplyDeleteIIRC, there was a blind at one point about a former pop princess/occasional actress who was trying desperately to have a baby, but had several miscarriages in a row, and the popular consensus was that it was Mandy, so clearly if that one's true, this new one wouldn't be her. Whomever she is, though, I feel terrible for her and hope that everything finally works out for her.
ReplyDeleteAs for this BI: she needs to get rid of the douchnozzle ASAP--there's nothing wrong with not wanting kids, but to lie to your fiancee/wife like that, sneak around & get snipped, and then let her think that it's all her fault she's not pregnant and put herself through so much testing of all kinds (which at best would be embarassing, and at worst painful)? That's a dictionary definition of "douchnozzle" right there for you.
And before anyone starts accusing me of being hateful towards men, yes, it would be just as bad if the roles were reversed, or if the woman was trying to trick the man into getting her pregnant by lying about birth control. Whether or not to have kids is one of those non-negotiable topics with which both members of a couple must be on the same page--after all, you can't "kind of" have a baby; it's all or nothing. If someone says they want something one way or another, you have to believe them, and to believe that they'll probably still feel that way, and hoping that you can "trick" them one way or another is an incredible abuse of trust. Yes, some people do change their minds, but many (perhaps most) don't, so don't assume that they'll be among the former, and decide whether or not you want the relationship w/this particular person or a baby, because you may not be able to do both.
i vote leanne and eddie. this makes me think the guy already has kids, that's why they would assume it's her fault when they can't concieve.

ReplyDeleteI really don't want this to be Mandy. I love her (and actually quite enjoy her husband). She's the only one from that huge onslaught of blonde pop singers in 1999 that hasn't gotten too big for their britches. Plus, 'Tangled' rocks.

ReplyDeleteI don't think this is Fergie or Mandy (her husband makes atleast as much as she does). I think LeAnn fits better - she's done pop songs plus she and Eddie met on a movie set. So yeah, I'm on the LeAnn train.
Not sure if this would be Leann Rimes & Eddie Cibrian, because I would think since Eddie is pulling a Kevin Federline by marrying Leann for her money, that he might want to get her pregnant so that it ensures him even more money for child support if/when he ever leaves her.

ReplyDelete@julie-- that's not necessarily true. I believe that around 18% of men who vasectomies still have sperm present in a pelleted semen analysis...which means that there is still a possibility that they can get a women pregnant.

I remember the original blind about this couple trying unsuccessfully to have kids, and Mandy and Ryan were the popular guess then.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have a hard time buying this. As someone who is also struggling with infertility, it sounds fishy to me. My doctor wouldn't even run any tests on me before having my husband tested, because his test was easy (just required a plastic cup and a sample) while the tests I got were much more invasive. I doubt any fertility doctor would allow the woman to go through a whole battery of tests without getting a sperm sample first.
I want to agree with Dana about the testing, but these celebrities don't necessarily use the kind of doctors we use. They pay their doctors to do what they want them to do and if he doesn't want to be tested and she is really naive, this could happen. Only a real jerk would do this though. It's fine not to want kids but you and your husband need to be on the same page. It never works out ok.

Yes, Mandy Moore, who barely works these days, is too good for her husband, one of the most prolific, acclaimed singer/songwriters of the last 30 years.
To my knowledge Ryan Adams does not have any children from a former relationship and Mandy has sadly had some miscarriages. Not her.

I actually knew someone this happened to. She's Russian and married to an American.Everyone in my old industry found out when an exiting employee sent a mass email across the country and around the world outing him on his lie. He ctually told her he was now taking vitamins so he could get her pregnant. Sadly she believed him. She wants a baby so bad and he won't be honest. To say he's a jerk is a gimme. But then everyone knew he was a jerk before this, hence the employee sending out the f you email.
I don't think leanne would be so into messing with her figure at this point for a baby.

ReplyDeleteAm thinking LeAnn and Eddie because Eddie already has two kids and therefore has living evidence he doesn't have any "fertility problems". It would at least buy him a good chunk of time to stall her out while she underwent testing, since she would assume he probably didn't have a problem. Is it possible that finding out about the vasectomy is what drove her into "rehab" a few months ago?

By the way, I remember when Leann first hit the scene. She was the country version of Britney/Christina/every one of those "pop princesses." She was heavily marketed towards teen & pre-teen girls (ah, the days when "tween" didn't exist). That is what I think of when I see "pop princess."

Leann Rimes has had a couple of songs that "crossed over" on pop radio stations. I don't know if that would make her a pop princess or not,but she has had songs on the pop charts. I could see why they would test her for problems and not him since he has two children already. I don't understand why he wouldn't just tell her he has all the children he wants,instead of hiding the vasectomy.That's a shitty thing to do to someone.

I can't find it on the interwebs), but what if that was before they got married? That was late 2009 and they had been dating for about 2 years by then. Also, man can make all the great music he wants, but Ryan Adams has always struck me as a major douchebag. Never understood how they ended up together.

Other than that, I couldn't care less. I do like Mandy Moore for this blind, it certainly sounds like from other posts that he's known as a jerk and fully capable of doing something so selfish. If not for the pop princess thing, I'd go with LR.
Leanne & Eddie all the way! Her recent trip to rehab may have had something to do with this. They never really said why she went to rehab...nervous breakdown over the news?? Major betrayal & because of all of the attnwhoring cannot leave relationship now.
