Brittany Murphy's Final Film Is Completed

It took almost three years, but Brittany Murphy's final film, Something Wicked has finally been completed. I remember when she was making that movie and how there was so much going on in her life and she had made them hire her husband as her makeup artist and then of course she died while making the movie. As much as Brittany had a troubled life at least she could act. I was rarely disappointed in her movies. I wonder how good this one will be and whether they should have just left it alone instead of trying to edit her performance so it made sense with what she had already shot.

  3. I really enjoyed Little Black Book. As cheesy as it was she was really funny in that.

So since it took them that long to finish it, it will be released?

  4. I loved Uptown Girls with Dakota Fanning. I always forget that she's actually gone, and really enjoy pretty much everything she's done. It's too bad her mom wasn't a better influence when it came to Simon.

Usually, if your friends and family are telling you they don't like the person you're with because they're sketchy and don't treat you well, it's because the person is sketchy and doesn't treat you well - not because they're jealous.

  6. Have you ever seen Marilyn Monroe's last/unfinished film, "Something's Got To Give"? They pieced it together and it's actually pretty good....she looks fantastic. Beautiful clothes, too.

  7. She was fantastic in Girl, Interrupted.

  9. I was disagreeing with Enty about her acting ability until @rejected reminded me about Girl, Interrupted.

Freaky: I had a dream about her last night. The French girl from AHS reminds me of her a little, so Brittany has been on my mind.

  10. Adored her in Clueless and Girl Interrupted. Sad that her life was so short.

That picture makes me think of one of the Olsen twins.

  13. Girl Interrupted & Clueless were my favorites of hers but I do think she really had great talent in everything she was in. I even named my cat 'Elton', but said as she says it in Clueless, in honor of her. RIP Brittany.

  14. ironically, my favorite performance of hers is 'the dead girl.' she just broke my heart in that movie.
she was a good person and a very good actress who lost her way. i miss her---unlike some people i could name who i won't miss when they're gone.

  15. Thanks, Agent! I'll keep you in mind :)

We're probably not going to go that route. We both don't want the white dress/ceremony deal. We don't want Vegas, or barefoot in Hawaii, either. It's a tough one, but I figure that we'll come across an idea that strikes us both sooner or later, and we're not in a rush.

  16. I still start to get teary-eyed when I think about her dying, the health issues, the bizarre immigration crap, the possible drug addiction stuff, etc. She was so beautiful. She lit up the screen when she was on her game. She was so beautiful.

  17. @Em - I wanted to extend my congrats, as well! I read it way late in the day and figured I'd wait until I "saw" you again. What about a nice backyard bbq/luau/pig roast/garden party/etc, and have a friend officiate?

  18. Wish you much happiness, Em! Loved your reader photo as well.

I want to see this but i hope it was done decently.

  19. Thanks guys! Really, thank you - it's nice to keep getting the "best wishes", and I pass them all on to Thor/Future Mr. Kay. Thanks for the ideas, @Amber! I live on the beach, on Puget Sound, if we wait until the weather gets better we could do a nighttime bonfire kind of thing...

@Seachica, yes, let's - especially because your engagement story really struck me (I went to your tumblr, just beautiful) and I keep thinking about it. Idea: there's a small lighthouse in West Seattle, near Alki, it has a gorgeous view. I'll send you a link.

I'll get you an email address soon, okay?

  20. Best wishes, EmEyeKay! I like Amber's idea, too. Simple, no stress, lovely. Should I ever get to have a wedding, I would do the same, I think.

And yeah, I see the "AHS" girl connection, too. I KNEW she reminded me of someone, but I just couldn't place it.

  22. LOVED LOVED LOVED Brittany. When you saw her name in a movie's credits you know that she was going to be the brightest element in it. She did Ed Burn's Sidewalks Of New York and there was no way you couldn't fall in love with her when you saw her in that. I had such a crush. That's the movie I always put in when I want to remember her at her most sexy, charming and lovely.

  27. Newbie, here. No one has mentioned a GREAT Bad Movie called Freeway, with Reese Witherspoon. Brittany's turn as a scarred, mentally deficient? inmate stood out.You could pick her out in bit parts, even if you didn't know why, She just glowed. Miss her. RIP I hope in your next life you remeber the cost of "I'll do anything to be..."

  28. I haven't seen any of these movies you all are pointing out except for "...Interrupted ". I meed to watch them.

And congratulations again Em. Do it nearby (the lighthouse sounds perfect) and simply. Spend the $on a nice trip abroad. That's what I did and it was perfect.

  29. Ramen Girl got panned but I loved it. Brittany gets dumped living from her boyfriend while they are living in Japan. She decides to stay and be a ramen chef.

    Loved it. Streams on Netflix

  30. Elementally, Freeway truly is one of the great bad movies! Both Brittany and Reese were good in it. So is Drop Dead Gorgeous, which someone mentioned earlier.

She really was a talented girl. RIP.

  31. She was so cute .
I remember thinking years ago "this girl is really going t bean excellent actress in her 40"s .. She already was good but I think she was going to be great . I really wish her last year of life wasn't so bad , with all the rumors and movie problems surfacing so that when she died people could just say "drugs" . when really , it wasn't drugs .

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well , her death wasn't drugs . Then her husband Simon dying like that 6 months later of the same damn thing ( I will NEVER get what she saw in him but I hope he made her happy and treated her good)
Does anyone live in tat house now??

    ReplyDelete
  33. i'm pretty sure she died of a "mixture of so-called legal drugs" because her heart was beating so fast that it stopped. And I'm pretty sure Simon got her into all kinds of nasty stuff. I was very sad to hear that she died, but I can't say the same for him.

  34. She was superb, absolutely loved her. I remember being so so sad when I found out she had died.

  35. Oh and Freeway is probably one of my most favorite bad movies OF ALL TIME. Such a great cast for such a crap movie lol
