  1. I was very bummed about this when I was drunk last night and upset that my fiance didn't recognize Schwarzkopf's name.

Guys, I'm still drunk. And I'm at work. This is going to be quite the morning.

  2. I'm loving the drunk tweets Karen..keep 'em coming. You are my entertainment this am!

  3. If you translate his last name literally it's "black head".

@Karen - BRILLIANT! Get Chipotle for lunch. It'll help keep your belly full to delay hangover, and if you can still taste alcohol the onion/garlic helps cancel that out. Hah.

  4. Omg, Karen!! While I'll certainly appreciate your drunken witticisms, I hope your job isn't labor intensive!
    Cancer fucking sucks!!

  7. Well, if Karen is going to blame the alkyhall, I'm blaming the V's: Valium and vertigo!! I'm alternating between my phone and laptop to make comments, trying to find a comfy position with 3 kitties vying for spots on my Onesie-clad body.

  8. Vertigo is the WORST!!! One time, I woke up with it when I had an ear infection. If I'm dizzy because of boozing, I'm okay with it because I deserve it. But laying perfectly still as the room goes topsy turvy is not cool.

I would pay someone $20 to bring me some McDonald's right now. I need some hash browns.

  9. RIP, Norm. Karen, time for "the hair of the dog that bit you", with a side of Gatorade.

  11. @katsm, hahahhahah :)

I think I'm going to venture out to McD's before it stops serving breakfast.

Last time I was like this, I ate so much at a restaurant that the waitress judged me.

  12. First - RIP Stormin' Norman.

Second - it's not even 7am on my coast and I'm thinking about a delicious mimosa! My holiday week starts today. Yahoo! So of course I could only sleep 4 hours last night. Of course. I blame it on the bad Starbucks I drank at 6pm. But dammit Karen! You sound like you're having a lot more fun! Why didn't I make it a cocktail??? Why????? Maybe bc I saw patients until 7. Ok. But then I could have had a 7:30 cocktail instead of bad coffee! Thanks for the funnies ladies. I guess I need to get myself on the twitter.

    1. Dia, remember the drinking thread ? I have to find that. There were some great drinks, I kind of remember Sunny's drink. We need to toast Stormin' Norman (that's my excuse)...

    2. Yes!!!!! Agent I was thinking about that as I typed Mimosa. I remember it was a Friday and it was a stupid post.

I feel bad about hijacking Stormin' Norman's post. Sooo.... lets raise a toast to a fine man who served this country well! Here. Here!

  13. Reeses - what did your doc say? Any good news? Hopefulky more than the old Valium and rest routine?

  14. @Dia. I've had Meniere's Disease for almost 10 years now. I'm fairly new to NC and the docs here wanted to do the testing that I've had 3 different times in the last 9years to re-confirm previous definite diagnosis (from 3 different doctors/med centers). I pretty much said Hell no! lol I'm pretty sure at this point the episodes are related to stress and I'm in the process of making changes, but it's going to take time. I do NOT want to be stuck taking medications (addictive personality, hello!) if I can do something to help it out. Surgery, by the way, has been ruled out as an option for me, 3 times. Thanks for asking, hon! =)

    1. @reeces have u tried ginger for vertigo?

    2. Dang hon... Meniere's sucks. I've known someone for a few years who has it. Tell NC Docs to suck it. It's highly improbable that 3 different places would diagnose if you didn't have it. They just want to bill the tests to Insurance. :(
Have you tried acupuncture? I've heard of some success with it for Meiere's. (sympathy hugs)

  15. Sorry lady. That sucks!!! Meniere's is a difficult one but I was serious about trying acupuncture for it. Sometimes it works to alleviate symptoms enough so you can function like a normal person. If nothing else will help you relax and cope with the stress better. You need to find a seasoned practitioner for this, but I think it could help. Doesn't hurt to try! And no drug side effects!!!!

    Love ya! Keep us posted!

  16. @dis papaya, it's never too late!

I'm about to tear into my sausage egg and cheese biscuits and hash browns.

Also, I'm really sorry for hijacking General Schwarzkopf's post.

  19. Rip General...I was active during the Gulf War, he was a great man.

I had the tastiest breakfast burrito this morning to help reverse the hangover effects. Boo to working during a holiday week.

  22. RIP General Schwarzkopf - another one of my heroes gone :( .

I can't remember if it was his father or grandfather who was involved with the LIndburgh baby kidnapping (I think he was the prosecuting attorney) and I'm too lazy today to look it up. Mr. B has a bad cold - evidently the worst cold ever in the history of the USA and I've been nursing him. If it weren't for that, I'd be joining you guys in Happy Hour (or Happy Day, whatever).

  23. Lol @susanb...there is a song by Buck-O-Nine, 'Jennifer's Cold' that I think of every time my husband gets sick because he is so freaking dramatic about it.

  24. Also, I want a drink and don't think it's fair that I used up all my vacation time and am stuck in the office today.

  25. "Good Lord! My Stormin' Norman commemorative plates stolen! Again."

Ah I have fond childhood memories of green blobs flying across a black screen (TV war coverage), RIP, you old bastard you!

  26. @ *karen* - feeling better yet?

  27. Only 78?
The older my parents get, the younger people seem to die.

  28. Oh good Lord. Someone needs to start a blog or something where people can just chat away with one another instead of hijacking the thread of an awesome guy who inspired and led troops to victory in record time.

RIP Norm. You were a good man
