Today's Blind Items - Kindness

This celebrity is B- list. A list name recognition though. She has been controversial in the past with some of her statements but she is truly someone who gives a lot of her time for free to whoever wants it. Her big thing is literacy programs and she tries to go to schools every week and read to students. She goes to after school programs and reads to kids and then works on actually teaching them how to read. She is happy to do homework with 100 kids a day if it was needed. She loves helping kids and puts in about 15-20 hours every week doing it despite the fact that she already works 40-50 hours a week on her own projects. I'm guessing she is not reading her own books though.

  1. I have no idea why I want to say Ann Coulter for this and I hate the chick but if it is her WOW.

  2. Jessica Alba? Got in a spot of trouble two years ago when she dissed the screenwriters of some of her lame movies.

Oh crap, she never wrote any books.

    Sarah Silverman?

  3. As scared as I am to say this, I applaud their efforts.

  4. Like the Jenny McCarthy guess. Controversy being her theories on Autism. Also, JM is on the DM twice today. I think Chelsea Handler is on there, though, too.

  5. Yup jenny mccarthy sounds about right

  6. Oooh, I love the Chelsea guess. I love her, so I hope it's true.

  7. I think Jenny McCarthy sounds right

  8. Does Jenny McCarthy have 50 hours a week of her own projects?

Chelsea Handler is busy and has inappropriate books, but all this volunteering wouldn't leave much time for vodka..

  9. I thought of Tori Spelling, but she's not known for any controversial statements.

I also thought of Madonna, but she's A list through and through.

  10. What about Suzanne Somers? She's been faced with controversy with her comments on hormone therapy and cancer. A-List name recognition. Writes a million books about everything and anything.

The only thing that makes me think I'm wrong is that Enty calls her a celebrity and not an actress... but I don't remember the last time I saw her in anything?

  11. I got it. Jamie Lee Curtis. author of several kids books, adoptive mom and very much a B-

  12. Whoopi? Not sure of her books, but I can see her doing this or something similar.

    ReplyDelete
  13. But if Jamie Lee Curtis wrote kids books, wouldn't it be appropriate to read them to the kids? This blind suggests otherwise : )

  14. I like the Sarah Silverman guess. She has some app out that she is promoting, something to do with "let me babysit your kids".

  15. Did Natalie maines ever write a book?

  16. I don't think it's Jenny McCarthy - she's been critical of public schools in the past, and most private schools don't have after-school literacy or homework programs that need volunteers.

Who is the young actress who writes YA novels?

Whoever it is - thank you!

  17. has to be blossom, she writes many books that are very boring, guess she doesn't reed them

  18. I like Jenny McCarthy for this. I don't get why something like this is a blind though.

  19. I was thinking Duff or Conrad

  20. I like the Chelsea Handler guess. Sounds like something she would want to keep on the down-low so it doesn't ruin her vodka image. lol I think if it were Duff or Conrad they would have it out in the press to promote themselves.

  21. I've got a gut feeling it's Silverman. Don't know why - finely honed gossip instincts, maybe?

  22. @frufra I know nada about Silverman and I thought her too because she is kinda known as controversial and has a book highly inappropriate for kids

    ReplyDelete
  23. Patricia Heaton? She has been very controversial with her anti anticonception opinions, and eventhough I dislike her because of this, she can't be all that bad I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh nevermind, Heaton never wrote books..

  25. I have no clue who this is, but whomever it is is doing good work. Literacy is very important for kids.

  26. Katie Price A.K.A. Jordan.
She 'writes' loads of books that kids (or anybody else really) should never read.
As much as I can't stomach the woman it actually does sound like something she would do.

  27. Jenny McCarthy, with the controversial statements being her statements on autism, and she's authored several books.

    Good for her.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I thought maybe Ashley Judd but I think her only authorship is an autobiography?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kirstie Alley. She opened a literacy center.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @It'sJust U, I actually thought of Katie Price for this too. She's "written" lot's of books, and with her kid being special needs, I could easily see her giving time to other kids as well. But no one over here really knows who she is. And as far as I know, she is still based in England.

the "im guessing shes not reading her own books" as she has no young aged children anymore maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  32. @nudibelle: think its more about her books being inappropiate for kids..

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think it's Lauren Conrad, too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. This definitely sounds like Sarah Silverman. She meets the controversial criteria, she is basically a comedian, not an actress who also has A recognition. Her books would NOT be appropriate to read to children. Got to be her.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This almost has to be Lauren Conrad or Jenny McCarthy for the authoring.

I don't think LC has A list name recognition or controversial statements, so I'm going Jenny Mac with her crazy autism theories.

  36. I instantly thought of Jane Fonda! Plenty of controversy in her past and everyone knows who she is despite not being in much lately. And she writes books!

  38. I can see Jenny McCarthy doing this. Controversial statements having to do with autism. I just can't believe Ann Coulter would do anything nice so that rules her out.

  39. The original Fergie - Sarah Ferguson, former Duchess of York (or Pork, as she was sometimes called). She wrote a few books starring Budgie the Helicopter.

  41. Dolly Parton. She has a foundation that sends books to kids. Huge literacy initiative.

  42. I'm thinking this is about an author. I'll go with Jackie Collins, def. A-list name, at this point prob. more B-list reputation.

Also very unlikely she'd be reading her books to schoolchildren.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I immediately thought Chelsea Handler when I saw this.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My first thought was Chelsea Handler, but after reading all of the comments,

..No, I still think it's Chelsea Handler.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am on the Jordan train too..

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't think this is someone with their own children if they're spending 55-70 hours a week on work projects & tutoring.
