Beyonce And Lip Synching

Do you think we will ever hear from Beyonce about why she didn't actually sing at the inauguration? I bet as soon as the news went viral yesterday she was on the phone to Obama trying to get him to get the spokesperson for the Marine Corps Band in trouble. I think Beyonce thought no one would ever know and the yanking out of the ear piece added the right touch to what she thought rightfully would go down as a legendary performance. Then someone spoke and crushed her little lie. Make no mistake, it was. You don't do the whole tearing out of the ear piece unless you want people to believe. It is kind of like when she sat down on television and never expected her baby bump to collapse. Anyway, apparently everyone else performed live, and Aretha Franklin threw Beyonce under the bus for not singing live, but did say her pre-record was really nice. The only one who really had any sympathy for Beyonce was of course, Jennifer Lopez. Last night on The Daily Show she said, "Sometimes it happens when you are in certain stadiums and certain venues and things, they do prerecord stuff because you're going to have that terrible slapback." Jennifer would have definitely not sung live.

  2. She'll lie and say she sang, just like how she lied about being pregnant.

I can't stand this self important trick. Her wailing and vocal gymnastics make me want to stab myself.

  10. did Enty just reveal/confirm JLO as MV? she is 13 letters, with a sketchy vocal history.

  11. JBlow is MV!

Kelly Clarkson sang live. This story got out because people in front of the Marine Corps Band didn't hear them playing any music and mentioned it. I think it was some UK paper that asked the Marine Corps Band about it. Obviously she didn't sing live.

  16. Normally, I wouldn't think it's a big deal. However, I feel in some way like it's almost disrespectful to fake the National Anthem? I'm not even sure if that's the word I want to use, but I just feel weird about it. So that, combined with her little theatrics is just kind of...lame.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Very Lame

she's going to get a TON of (deserved) backlash from this

Im lukewarm about 'brand' Beyonce, on one hand I always appreciate success and ambition in women, like madonna, oprah, etc
on the other hand I cant stand egomania. Check out her tumblr and thats the definition of EGOmaniac.

    Jaja I love Queen Aretha

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Beta - don't you mean deserved slapback? LOL

  19. I still think Kelly Clarkson was better. I was stunned by her performance, but Beyonce was just meh.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @Vicki, she definitely was better. The only reason Beyonce got all the attention was because she's such a drama queen and brought all the attention on herself.

      Delete
  20. Who cares? Clearly she can sing. Every artist, legendary or otherwise, has done pre-recorded at some point. Lots of people have something stuck in their craw about Beyonce/Jay-Z, but I'd much rather them be successful since they have talent in their given professions as opposed to the Kardashian family or most ratched and wretched reality stars. *off of soapbox*

    ReplyDelete
  21. Great post Enty! So much information.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I can just see her calling up Obama and blasting him and his damn Marine Corp band! She's a such a self important ego bitch. I do have to say, I'm confident that SHE believes that she the mostest awseomest person EVER, and that she's absolutely entitled to lie about what ever she pleases. Gag.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I heard yesterday that the reason she didn't sing live was because she hadn't rehearsed the song with the Marine Corps Band, so she (or them) didn't want to take any chances.

Who knows if that's true or not.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not like she had a lot of time to prepare....she has only known she would more than likely do this since mid November. Guess when you are scheduled on so many vacations its hard to schedule a practice or two. Her life is so hard. She has to take care of Poison Ivy.

      Delete
  24. @kgirl
Then why did doesn't she just come out and say she did it? YoYo Ma admitted he wasn't playing his cello in 2009 due to the weather. She won't admit it because she did that huge theatrical performance never realizing the band would give her away. She's not only an egotist, but stupid too. That's a bad combo.

    ReplyDelete
  25. She faked being pregnant; faking a song isn't that much of a stretch, is it?

    ReplyDelete
  26. So my take away from all this - Kelly Clarkson is a better singer than Beyonce. And Beyonce is just a performer in a pretty dress.

Someone's ship is sinking. I don't know why I'm getting such glee from her being outed. It's like the mean girl getting caught red-handed in front of the entire HS student body and gets universally booed.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You aren't the only one. People are so up her ass for reasons unknown. I'm happy she's being outed everyone thinks she's perfect & the best at everything & that's what mainstream media has forced on people simply because money talks. Those Grammys & all those reviews calling her legendary etc were all paid for. However money is slowly being proved to her not to be everything even though people are still up her ass the media is slowly exposing her as the egotistical bitch she is. Something Ive known from the beginning. She's always described as humble & always stating she's humble (in her case because her vocabulary is limited) but she's far from it. So happy the truth is coming to light

      Delete
  27. Yawn... do you think someone with her ego and inflated sense of self worth would admit it? Come on people... This is someone who talks about how incredible it was to give birth. She is full on Costanza - it's not a lie if you believe it...

    ReplyDelete
  28. The London Times broke the story...She didn't sing live because she probably rarely does and wasn't taking any chances.
However I thought the dress was worse than the lip-syncing ...
But yes now the world looks at her as dishonest, hardly a surprise to some of us.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Seems like she is a habitual LIAR!!

I used to like her but lately my respect for her has gone downhill. If I was singing for the Pres and his wife I think I would like it to be live!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was just a bit surprised that this caused the furor that it seems to have done. I was under the impression that lip-synching takes place at least as often as not during so-called "concerts" by pop stars. I will admit that, to me, the practice is just on the safe side of being theft, and it is one reason I would never shell out the money to see a supposedly "live" concert by such performers. But since it is apparently the norm, why did so many people get in a flutter about Beyonce's doing it at the Inauguration?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm sorry--But the excuse about the Marine Corps Band not having time to practice the National Anthem? They can't get away from that song.
Supposedly she decided on the lip-synching at the last minute. I think it was after the soloist from the Brooklyn Choir & Kelly Clarkson totally NAILED their performances, and she realized how bad she'd sound in comparison.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @kgirl, I'd have no problem with her not singing live if she didn't lie about it.

@EmEyeKay, OMG!!!! I thought the exact same thing! I've thought for a while, though, that JLo is MV.

    ReplyDelete
  33. What does taking out your ear piece do in terms of music? I am totally ignorant about that stuff. Beyonce is an asshole, so I am loving all of these stories.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Robert---Sweetening or lip-synching or singing with a backing track is NBD in concert, when the performer also has to dance, or do a lot of complicated changes or whatever.
'Singers' can stand still and sing a song. I think that's the definition of 'singing.'

Also, everyone else sang live and killed it. Plus, the earpiece drama---It's the whole selling of the lie, that has eyes rolling.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The dress was bad, but those cheap looking fabric green earrings really bothered me. They screamed cheap and tacky.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This doesn't surprise me. What did surprise me is that in reading about this, I learned Whitney Houston lip-synced her famous singing of the national anthem at the Super Bowl back in the 90's.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I just have to share that the "Beyone lip-synched" scoop radiated to the outer reaches of the gossip world yesterday - Mr. Frufra came home from work and told me about it! If he knows gossip, it's been practically announced with a bullhorn, because that man, whom I love dearly, is clueless.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OMG, here I go again with the typos - Beyonce!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Maybe JLo and Beyonce have something in common with MV? Maybe there are a lot of fake singers out there.

Now we know we can go grab snacks during the Superbowl Halftime show!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Maybe she'll say she had a miscarriage, so everything'll be OK again?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I dont see it as a big deal. We know she can sing so whats the big deal. I think people dont like her and will slam her for anything.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Henriette - those earrings are actually $1.4M emeralds, IIRC.

@Puggle - the ear piece thing is kind of a show off move like, "Look at me I'm such a badass singer I'm going to nail this note without the monitor."

    ReplyDelete
  43. This was nothing more than a huge production performance by an egotistical performer. The big hair, the floor length evening gown, the huge earrings, all of this to boost Beyonce's persona and steal the show.

Notice how everyone else was bundled up and looked more down to Earth. Hell, Kelly Clarkson even had chipped nail polish but who cares, she was there to sing. What is so funny to me is she had the video of her performance uploaded to her YouTube channel ASAP like she was bragging about the whole ordeal.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, actually they were $1.8M emeralds. Not sure on how many carats.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Puggle--Singers need to hear the band and themselves closely to keep the beat and keep in tune, especially outside or when dancing. Hence the earpiece.

Ripping out the earpiece when she was lipsynching would have served nothing---she could still hear herself on the speakers. But it really sold her 'real'-ness didn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Whitney Houston lip-synced the famous 1991 Star Spangled Banner, so I'm not really surprised. Even great singers like her don't want to take the chance of messing up live at a momentous occasion.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @kgirl

I totally agree. Beyonce can sing like a bird. I don't know why she did this, maybe she's having technical problems with her voice, who knows? If she did lip-sync, it must have been for a very good reason. She didn't want to disappoint the audience. Singers get colds, sore throats, overused vocal chords. If she had 'called in sick' she would be criticized for that too!

    @greenmountaingal

You probably would have liked Pat Boone.

  48. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIO9DLe_-rY

Seriously, they should have gotten Jim Cornelison from Chicago. If you want to hear the National f'ing Anthem listen to that one ^^^.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Don't y'all think that this lip-synching stuff, just like the "pregnancy", is just evidence of how closely and carefully Beyonce has shaped her public image? I mean, she doesn't dare take a chance that people might judge her as less of a perfect superwoman because she used a surrogate, or maybe flubbed a note or two on the National Anthem at the Presidential Inauguration? It's all about control.

    ReplyDelete
  50. She actually recorded the song with the Marine Corps Band. It's not like she can't sing. It's not like they used someone else's recording. I think the emoting and performance during the song was worse. And the band are professionals of the highest level. They are not schmucks. She best not through them under the bus. They forgot more about music then she'll ever know.

    ReplyDelete
  51. When I heard this I thought she sang with the pre-recorded version, I guess not. I don't think anyone would've cared but she had to be dramatic with the ear piece and draw attention.

    ReplyDelete
  52. There is no way it was because if a sore throat or anything like that, wasn't the recording done the day before? She just wanted to create this in-her-mind perfect rendition and think she would get more credit if people thought it was live. Everyone else sang live so yeah, it kind of does knock the credit she should be being given.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Do ya actually think she fake her pregnancy? Or yah joking around. I mostly joke about it

    ReplyDelete

    1. @dragon - I certainly can't speak for everyone, obviously, but I think the consensus around here is that she faked it.

    2. Faked it. I don't care how active you are through out your pregnancy, there are certain things a pregnant woman can't do. She never moved like a pregnant woman. And her bump collapsed.
      *drops mic*
      BOOM. Fake

      Delete
    3. Totally faked. Your bump just does not collapse when you sit. That's why they shut down the hospital. So it wouldn't get out that it wasn't her in labor.

The pearl clutching over lip-synching is the definition of reaching. Nearly all singers performing at the Super Bowl or other big events pre-record tracks in the event something goes wrong. I think the Super Bowl requires it.

The NA at the Super Bowl has been lip-synched for several years. Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks: all good singers, all used recorded tracks. Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma faked played in 2009 because the cold could have snapped their violin and cello strings. Pre-recordings happen. It's not a big deal and something we should expect at this point. Let's stop being high and mighty about this.

Honestly, this is just some b****-ass whining from most of the public. If someone uses a track, how dare they! We want real singing! F*** the fake, be willing to make a mistake. But when someone does make a mistake live, like Christina A did a couple of years, we have folks that call her un-American. GMAFB. We can't have it both ways. Even we want perfection or we should be willing to accept the occasional mistake. One or the other. Make up our minds!

As for Aretha, she's a b**** who doesn't pay half her bills because she think she's above it all. And she's got a bad habit of throwing a lot of singers under the bus. Beyonce should take that as a badge of honor.

Sorry for the rant, but folks are so pressed by this when it's happened before, it will happen again, and we won't care about it. So why care now?

  57. The band's musical arranger is from our area. There was a story in the paper Sunday about him and others who were going to be invovled with the inaguration, either attending or participating. The article said that Bey and/or her team (can't remember which) submitted her specficiations for the arrangement. It had to be this, not too much that, with just the right amount of this, etc. With all that involvement you would think she would have been itching to sing it live.

Beyonce should have rehearsed with the band and done it live. Maybe she was sick? I don't know. Just own it and moveon.org. At least that's what Christina Aguilera did when she effed up the words and ditto for Yo Yo Ma for when it was extremely cold. It is very challenging to play instruments live in extreme weather conditions.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah, at least among the commenters here, the issue isn't so much that she didn't sing live. It's the dramatics and whether or not she owns up to it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Beyonce Carter is 13 letters

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous7:39 AM

Beyonce doesn't use Carter as a stand alone name, and rarely at all. If she does, it's Beyonce Knowles-Carter.

    ReplyDelete
  63. True, but that doesn't mean it's not her name. Huma Abedin's name is legally Huma Weiner, but she goes by Abedin. Beyonce is legally Beyonce Carter. I know it's been narrowed down to Britney and J-Lo for awhile, but maybe that clue was vague on purpose

    ReplyDelete
  64. Pls can someone be kind enough to enlighten me on what mv is about. Sounds juicy to pass.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't think people care that it was a pre recorded track, they care that she is always trying to be something she isn't. Ripping out her ear piece? The front of the crowd can see that the band isn't playing? I mean it's funny stuff.

Beyonce only has to say, "I had a sore throat" and nobody would have given crap about it and understood. Instead she plans this whole farce because she knows Clarkson will sing her under the table. Now we have backtracking and denial from the MCB of something that was already confirmed. It's just so stupid.....

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Layna Day

That seems to be typical Aretha these days. People would think more of her if she were more supportive. It's not very good musicianship, to be so damning. It says a lot more about her than it does about Beyonce.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous7:51 AM

Nearly all celebrities are trying to something they're not. It's why they're celebrities.

It comes down to not liking Beyonce. Which is fine, I'm not her biggest fan by any stretch.

But she's made her millions being dramatic and projecting perfection. I doubt she was thinking about Kelly Clarkson when making this decision. Nothing against Kelly, but I don't think Bey was operating like that.

This story is the epitome of a slow news cycle gone mad. Not saying that toward Enty, but the situation in general.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don't care if Beyonce lip synched. I only care that Obama didn't lip synch his part.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well I'm just still fascinated that she actually faked a pregnancy just like a soap opera plot line! I just cannot get over that! LOL It's insanity!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I can't stand Beyonce's music. Every song she sings sounds exactly the same and she is so pop she makes madonna sound R&B. I don't care about her fake pregnancy or lip synching, when. I heard she was going to sing that complex song I knew she wasn't going live. She probably never does. All these people who say she can sing confuse me. She is so autotuned every song sounds exactly the same. Her music is soooo boring. I figured Jennifer Lopez was MV but I haven't decided for sure that its not Beyonce.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I seriously think Beyonce could be MV after this foolishness. Smh

    ReplyDelete
  72. This supports my previous theory that bey and jay are not from this planet. They are so uncomfortable in day to day stuff!! Anyway she sounded beautiful, but she should have copped to it instead of being outed. Getting back to their weirdness, why is blueyonce always shrouded? Wtf? Neither one of them seems remotely parental. Hey ! Mb shes the blind sbout star who had baby and gave it over to nanny!! Ahhh, the plot thickens.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Poor Beyonce, the jig is up. Go hide in your mansion for a few months, stuff some more fluff into that tummy pillow and wait for your next 'revealing' interview.

    ReplyDelete
  74. The timeline of clues for MV doesn't match up with Beyonce, IMO.

Isn't it time for a new week's worth of MV clues? Doesn't that happen every year?

    I think it's J. Lo.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I really hope beyonce is MV! Enty please reveal that one.

    ReplyDelete
  76. For those of you inquiring about what is MV, just google MV crazy days and nights and hopefully, you'll get the gist. It's an ongoing blind about a huge music industry star who has Milli Vanillied her way to the top, basically.

    ReplyDelete
  77. First of all, it seems like MV is now confirmed for sure. I think the only time JLo has ever sung live is when she performed on Idol before her & Marc split. She probably had him be her vocal coach every day they were married! Lord knows he can belt it out.

As for all this National Anthem stuff, if people want to slam Beyonce for being fake, I'm all for it, that belly stuffer! It's just when people use this as another way to bash the President that really makes it eyeroll worthy. If that's what our country has deteriorated to, we truly are lost.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I really don't think MV is Beyonce. I thought about it, and Beyonce has always been able to sing. She's been in girl groups since her teens, was the lead singer in Destiny's Child, and has a top-selling solo career!

If she couldn't sing, I could see it, but she can sing beautifully with or without a mic.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Bey doeesn't fit MV (not that I recall, anyway).

    ReplyDelete
  80. J-lo is MV!! I knew it!

Also, pulling out an ear monitor would not necessarily mean that she was lip synching- Ive used them and she may have had too much of the track in her ears. She may have been more comfortable syching up with the "house sound".

Either way, I think that her lip syching is not the big story...aside from her blatant diva attitude- what Im really excited about is the MV reveal!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Face the facts, probably at least 1/2, if not more, singers have no real talent. They can't sing without the help of computers. Bey once is a señora falsa

    ReplyDelete
  82. I don't care if she lip-synched or not. I do care about lying. And it was a stupid lie. She did a great job with the Nation Anthem whether it was live or prerecorded. And I'm not a fan of hers.

I did hear she took that ear thing out because it was so cold in her ear which I guess might make sense.

And I loved the earrings - I'd love to have them myself!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Also on board with JLo as MV!!!

    Thank you Enty! Thank you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. If JLo is MV that wouldn't come as a shock to anyone and it would not shake the music industry to its core. It's got to be someone big who people have assumed had done real talent.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Everything about her is a lie, right down to her hair weave. Her marriage, her carrying and giving birth to her baby...are you seriously surprised that she didn't really sing???

    ReplyDelete
  86. @ daqueenbee...JLo isn't MV. MV will never put out another album, because the actual person died. JLo just put out an album recently. Also, JLo is a terrible singer and you can tell it's her really singing. You can also find footage on Youtube of her singing live. She's horrible.

I'm sticking to MV being Shania. It's not Beyonce.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Aretha said she probably didn't sing live b/cof the cold weather. I'm not a singer, so I couldn't tell you if that really played a part or not.

I saw a clip of her documentary the other day and was wondering if she'd address the fake belly stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Mv isn't beyonce. A clue has already been posted that it isn't beyonce.

    ReplyDelete
  89. MV is not Shania - Enty has said many times she is not a foreign singer. It's an American. And I still vote JLo...especially after this post.

    ReplyDelete
  90. let's talk about the real story here - Am I supposed to pronounce her shortened "Bey" abbreviation as Queen Bee or Queen Bay? IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!

And I'm not a fan of hers. Everything seems so calculated all the time. Who dresses up for an event like that to upstage the guest of honor, the president and first lady? I know it was a a big deal but she looked like a moron. Not classy at all. She just annoys me. Good performer but that's all she is - a performer. She's not saving the world, like she thinks.

    ReplyDelete
  91. MV is def Jlo. Knew it from the first blind. Damn what a career based on someone else's chops.

    ReplyDelete
  92. So she lip synched. The dress was subdued for her. The ear piece could have been too cold or had feedback. There could have been a lot of factors. I just don't care. It isn't THAT serious.

I can't stand Beyonce. I dislike her immensely. She threw the other girls from Destiny's Child under the bus. She's stolen music from other artists and she faked a pregnancy. She over-sings EVERYTHING (except the National Anthem..."Oh!") I will say though, that this is just ridiculous. While part of me giggles inside to think of her squirming over all this completely unnecessary controversy, I just think it's an excuse for those that dislike her to take digs.

Cold weather can cause your singing to suffer. Our choir had to perform outside at the state building. We weren't at our best in 28 degree weather. You get phlegmy and choppy.

Kelly is a great singer but she sounded ok. She wasn't spectacular but I admire that she sang live in the cold and did well.

  93. If Beyonce actually called the POTUS about this, she's a fucking moron.

Re Aretha: No one, I mean no one can sing like Aretha but let's face it: She's mean and nasty, unkind to other singers and she's a racist who despises white people.

  94. Did you know she gets a writing credit on every song? Songs she does not write? The song Smash into you was originally Smack into you, they changed Smack to Smash so she could get royalties. I bet she gets writing credit on the National Anthem now! lol

I think what makes her look bad is Kelly Clarkson killed it live...

    ReplyDelete
  95. Yep, J-Lo is MV. No surprise.
But she didn't build a career out of the voice she stole. It's just that the producers realized that it would be easier to work with a no-name backing singer rather to comply with the schedule of a renowned diva.

As long as the girl had a voice sounding like Jennifer's, it did the trick. The singer didn't even need to give everything she had, because it would have been too fake and it would have sounded suspicious. And too hard for Lopez to mimic, had she been supposed to sing live at some point.

So, the voice was anyway wrapped in various filters and effects, but I have no problem believing that they would sell some Jennifer Lopez albums by only using Lopez as the face on the cover and the body in the videos. But it must have been hard for the original singer to record "autobiographical" stuff such as "Jenny From The Block", so I understand why she was ultimately mad about being used on these projects.

So, there may have been other albums but, as I say, you can use almost any female voice, as long as you wrap it with stuff that's linked with what you expect from Lopez. When you hear Amy Winehouse or Adele singing, you can recognize their voice in any setting. For Lopez, it's a very narrow range of production, so you can use various ghostsingers and nobody would notice.

  96. ADDENDUM: It also makes much more sense to have MV record for a celebrity project rather than a still unknown or semi-unknown singer:

    - apart from her Mickey Mouse Club background and her looks, there was nothing particularly special about Britney, so the writers/producers could have given "Baby One More Time" to any young singer, the song would have been a hit anyway

    - Lopez is a brand name and a face, that's why they would use that to sell music, while it would take more than that for Shania Twain when she started

    - it was already revealed more or less publicly that Lindsay Lohan didn't actually sing on her two albums. It didn't cause a seism in the industry, because the albums had flopped and that, well, it's Lindsay Lohan. But having a chart-topping artist such as Lopez being used for just being the face of the music could be a huge story, with millions of buyer potentially asking for a refund. And, if it were Britney, the drama would be, as always, targeted at there, not at the industry.

  97. So did she get paid as singing live or lip-synching?

@Frufra Why would people go to so much trouble on faking being pregnant than again this is Hollyweird

  99. JLO = MV! Right?? I don't see how it can be anyone else.

  100. Whitney Houston's very famous rendition of the National Anthem was prerecorded. She did sing it live, and the orchestra accompanying her played live as well, but Whitney's sound was mixed with the recording (the orchestra wasn't miked--and I know they saved a LOT of money by not even trying). If you want an outdoor performance like this to sound that good, yes, it's better to go with the pre-recording.

It's just too bad Beyonce didn't own up it. She really can be an idiot about some things.

Below is a reader's recap of the clues.

  103. This is not my recap and I don't think it included last year's clue.

    Orig posted by "Lisa B."
This may be long, but here is every clue (I think).

1.Either our singer or someone she has been married to has had a nickname or a hyphenation in their nickname.
2.The final clue for this anniversary week is MV was born in the United States.
    3. MV has been separated (real separation and not just kicking the guy out for a couple of days) and/or divorced at least once. Tomorrow's final clue will eliminate one of your favorite guesses.

4. MV has at least one child.
    5. To borrow a phrase from Ted C, MV ain't:

Mandy Moore,
Pink,
Norah Jones,
Beyonce
    6. MV has been or is currently married.
    7. So as I waded my way through another 200 comments, I noticed another theme popping up which was whether the award was a BAFTA. It wasn't. So you can remove from your consideration that Cornell woman. Second, remember the A-lister was an A lister at that time.
    8. MV is the only person who can come forward without any repercussions. Myself, S, and Guy do not have that option available to us.

9. MV UPDATE

DEVELOPING-----

Someone who knows MV, but does not know about the S situation told me this morning that MV was contemplating an in depth interview to address some issues in her personal and professional life. Could this be one of the issues?

10. The first comment/subject I want to address is the S/MV item. The only thing I will say is I will not confirm or deny anything. I really cannot do that. However, with that being said, one thing I will say about myself is that I love my friends, and if you are my friend you know you will not get trashed here or behind your back or anywhere else. Some of you have guessed a certain person and I make very clear in another entry that she is a really good friend of mine and therefore could not be the correct guess. Also, she reads the blog, so be nice. lol

    11. This really happened just as I said it did..However, there was also a settlement agreement that was confidential which I cannot violate as well...THEREFORE, I have taken certain precautions such as using the year 2000 as a starting point..In addition, I am very vague when I use times such as several weeks or months....It would not be fair to S or the other parties involved or ethical to be any more specific in this situation..

"I can't stand this self important trick. Her wailing and vocal gymnastics make me want to stab myself."

Exactly this! I can't stand listening to her showing off her range. Just hold a note, FFS! Then we'll know if you can actually sing, or not.

  106. Holy crap well today I learned Lindsay didn't sing on her own album. Color me shocked.

Anyone here still wondering about MV, you need to do some digging, the rest of us have been caught up for years.

  107. I can't STAND Beyonce, and am enjoying this to the Nth degree.

This isn't the first time she's been caught lip-synching. Howard Stern published her 'performance' from the Today show, where she also lip-synched to the board feed - and this was not outside, in 20* weather:

  108. Damn! It sure seems like MV is J-NO! I thought the clues fit Mary J. Blige for sure, but maybe not.

If someone could PROVE MV is JLO, it would be HUGE in the Latin market! The spanish gossip shows would have a field day!

BTW...I'm also loving all this negative press towards Beyonce. Hee-Hee

    ReplyDelete
  109. I am betting that Aretha Franklin didn't appreciate the theatrics with the earpiece to sell the live performance. If Beyonce had just "sung" and done nothing else, probably would have been no compulsion to reveal how staged it really was.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Just tuned in, lots o' comments to read that I probably won't, buuuut

Is this the biggest MV clue of all? Or perhaps, a reveal? Will all of our hard sleuthing and waiting finally pay off? Is Beyo the ultimate faker?

My dumbass also didn't know what Jay-Z's name 1) Wasn't even Jay and 2) his last name is Carter. Where the hell have I been.

  114. I'm still shocked Bewolf's earrings were so expensive! They looked so cheap on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I'm sure this is meant to be a hint about MV's identity, but in all honesty, does anyone think J-Lo sings live?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Hahaha, Beywolf - perfect!

Neither love nor hate her, but she shouldn't have lied if she did, in fact, lip synch and pull the earpiece stunt drama.

Someone mentioned something about respecting the National Anthem, shouldn't have lip-synched. I'll counter with Roseanne Barr singing the National Anthem. If that performance wasn't disrespectful, Beywolf was showing the ultimate respect.

    ReplyDelete
  117. OMG. That Today Show track makes me REALLY want to hear what she really sounds like on the National Anthem because that song is really tough to sing well.

    ReplyDelete
  118. The problem I have with lipsynching the National Anthem is it's an honor to be invited. You're not being booked for any ol' song or because you're popular. It's not a 2-hour show with dance moves and wardrobe changes, it's a 2-minute song.

The part about "don't let the band play, either" is stupid. They're the Marine Corps Band. They've probably had a leeeeetle bit of practice performing the National Anthem.
