Blind Item #5
For years this A list all movie actress has been providing an allowance to her C list actor ex. Recently though she cut him off and now he can barely pay his monthly bills. He never saved anything because he always had his ex as a bank. Things have got so bad that he is trying desperately to make a deal with a car company for an endorsement so he can keep his current car.

ReplyDeleteChad Lowe actually has a paying job these days on Pretty Little Liars. He's a regular. Don't know about back then but he seems pretty stable these days. Ryan on the other hand could use a stable job.

Chad Lowe has been a regular on Pretty Little Liars for 3 years now, Ryan just did the show Damages, the whole season focused on his character, a Jullian Assange clone.

ReplyDeleteRyan has been working steadily in good projects, according to IMDB, so not him. I'm thinking an actress with an earlier marriage to someone not that well known. Who are today's A-list all movie actresses?
ReplyDeleteRyan didn't take alimony but he got 50% of the money earned it their time together...
ReplyDeleteThe only reasons I can think of for a woman to financially support her ex and then stop are 1) for the sake of their kids (having a stable environment when they are with Dad), but the kids are now grown; 2) blackmail by the ex, which she is no longer worried about; and 3) guilt for leaving the ex and feeling therefore responsible for his support, which eventually fades when he won't take care of himself.
ReplyDeleteJulianne Moore was married to an actor named John Gould Rubin, who works primarily in theatre. But he lives in NYC, and not too many people there even care about cars.

ReplyDeleteJohnny Lee Miller is on Elementary (which I believe was picked up for season 2) and Chad Lowe is on Pretty Little Liars and also directs episodes of his and other shows. Ryan P. works quite a bit. I'm with Patty, it's someone who never married the ex. Charlize and Townsend are a better guess.
ReplyDeleteI like the Angelina /BBT guess. Don't know why, I just do. Maybe because BBT got a little snotty in the last few years and needed some smacking down.
ReplyDeleteCharlize does sound good for this. Chad's role on Pretty Little Liars is fairly steady (his character is incredibly boring, heh) & Phillippe is still getting work.

DeleteHmmmm, that makes me think Stuart may be the a-hole actor from this weeks blind. He's done TV and movies, and in the early 2000s was poised to move up to A list (I remember him from about Adam with Kate Hudson).
ReplyDeleteHe famously got fired from Lord of the Rings the DAY BEFORE they started filming and was fired from Thor too. Also, he was with Charlize for ages, and from reveal day we know she's one to hold grudges and send "gifts" Maybe he learned it from her?
I'm agreeing it sounds like Townsend and "ex" does not necessarily mean "husband."

Townsend most recent credits are 2011-2012 season starring in a Canadian series called "The Series" that filmed 26 episodes. And a B-type thriller in 2012 called A Stranger in Paradise. Now for most actors this would be a decent living, but if you are used to living an A-list life, it might be hard to make ends meet.

ReplyDeleteI'm being persuaded by the Charlize/Stuart team, particularly regarding his difficulties being employable. Plus, after she adopted, her thinking about who she's *actually* responsible for might have changed.

ReplyDeleteOn the Charlize/Stu train. However, I wonder how she was able to stay with him for 10 years, considering the diva stories about him?! CT seems low maintenance and from what I hear Stu is a huge diva and bitch. How do you live with a man like that?
ReplyDeleteIf you're committed as if it's a marriage, I guess you try and try to make it work. Until you realize he has become a self-centered pain in the butt who couldn't care about your dreams of a family or other things. I can see how they were together 10 years.

ReplyDeleteIt's not Stuart Townsend. He is the star of a spy show on the Reelz network called XIII, and the second season starts in March or April. He is the only one of the top 3 stars of the show returning for the new season. The only reason I know this is because I occasionally work with Reelz. XIII is set to be one of their better shows this year (don't get me started on the Steven Seagal one).
