These two actresses from a hit almost network show can't stand each other. Not from the first season and never probably will. The underdog in this is the actress who felt like she had to work for everything she got and hates that another actress gets attention simply because she has larger breasts and is willing to sleep with more people. The underdog says that the other actress has always been a pain but the past few months have been a nightmare of self back patting and look at me itis. So, it was with great pleasure the underdog told the other actress about how the underdog already has a new show for herself and some movies lined up. The other actress meanwhile has to check everything through the new person in her life and is not sure how much she is going to work. He would like her with him at all times and even tried to get her out of the contract on her show.

ReplyDeleteIm with Leighton on this one. It's no secret Blake's parents got her career started, which is fine. Happens all the time. It's how I started. However she behaves like an entitled bitch, which is a huge negative. I'm pretty certain she's not going to get much work now that GG is over. She's not bankable.

ReplyDeleteWhilst I have a soft spot for the Livelys. I have to go with Leighton on this one. If she plays her card right she could be the only cast member working 10 years from now.
Ryan is still great looking but he hasn't had a hit since 2009. I don't think he will be on top of the heap much longer. Blake better keep her head out of the oven baking cookies for him and keep her career on track.

DeleteI don't remember this blind but reading it was Leighton/Blake all the way. Blake sounds like she has ill-fitting dentures. She's pretty, but her acting is blase. Leighton can rock an outfit and act at the same time, but Blake gets all the attention. (Don't know any family backstory.)

ReplyDeleteI used to watch Gossip Girl but had to stop (schedule conflicts/poor college student with no DVR) and then I totally lost track. But I've always been a bigger fan of Leighton. And, to be honest, I've always liked the character Blair more than Serena. Maybe it's her glam headbands. So, props to Leighton.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of casting Eff ups, felt so sorry for Leighton playing 2nd(3rd?) banana to Goopster in the unwatchable Country Strong western musical thing.Too bad it wasn't a smaller movie with a nothing budget. Leighton would have done just fine in the lead and Gwynny would have had more time to stay home and plagerize other folks cookbooks.

I think it says a lot that Serena is supposed to be the main character of GG but audiences found Blair to be much more interesting.

We just watched The Green Lantern over the weekend. Throughout the whole thing, I kept yelling, "That's Blake Lively!! They are married now!" Drove my husband crazy. Still can't stand her, although my husband said she has a nice body. Meh face, though. And he couldn't stand the way she talked. Glad to know we're ALL on the same page! Never watched GG, though, would it be worth watching on Netflix or something? We like to watch entire series (not all in one sitting, eeks)!
ReplyDeleteLeighton/Ed/Penn have always carried the show, while GG has always made Serena(Blake) the focus so I don't blame Leighton at all.
ReplyDeleteOf course RR will have a lot of say in Blake's career. I doubt he wants his wife to do another Traveling Pants movie.
Gossip Girl was a guilty pleasure for me as well, although I got really tired of the Serena/Blair fights. Did anyone find the finale a little blah? I don't want to spoil it for those just catching up on the show but the very last scene was a little unbelievable for me.

I actually like both of them and think that Blake gets a bad rap because Serena is such an incredibly irritating character. I think Blake is pretty darn charming in Accepted and Traveling Pants and showed some range in The Town. I know that Hollywood nepotism seems unfair (especially compared to a born in jail sob story) But really, before Gossip Girl when was the last time anybody mentioned Robyn Lively in any context? How much help could her sister really give her?
