Frank Ocean Pressing Charges Against Chris Brown

You probably won't believe it, but yesterday Chris Brown compared himself to Jesus and said he is being nailed to the cross for doing nothing wrong. Umm yeah. So much wrong with that. Anyway, numerous witnesses have come forward and said that Chris threw the first punch. I doubt anything will happen to him but Frank Ocean is going to try and is pressing charges against Chris. Chris is still on probation for the Rihanna beating but nothing happened after the club fight when people were seriously injured so Frank getting a cut finger is not going to do anything either.

  14. Thanks Beta. so not a defense of him, just a fan of his music. I couldn't see Swifty opening a can of worms and defending what he did or who he is. As disgusting as Chris Brown is, he's had celebs do that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Maybe the Rolling Stone comment was Taylor Swift's attempt at being edgy and non-vanilla.

As for Chris Brown, is it just the controversy that is making him such a hot commodity? I know he's a talented auto-tuneer, but still -- I would think that whatever his people are making off of him would be taken away by all the people they have to pay off and all of the lawyer bills they have to pay. There's gotta be a point where the liability doesn't justify the gains.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Please, this isn't going to court. He cut his finger? How does that happen in a beatdown?
By all accounts Chris 'shoved' him. So maybe he fell and scraped his hand on the pavement.
Again..NOT DEFENDING Chris because I think men who hit women should be tossed into an arena full of hungry lions. At the same time this guy looks to be getting attention. If he were 'beaten' don't you think the pictures would be everywhere?

" "Of course, we are going to investigate," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said, noting that it may lead nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It sure sounds like you're defending Chris Brown.

It isn't by all accounts that Chris "shoved" him. Other accounts say Chris cold clocked him. And Brown is still on felony parole. I'm not saying he'll get jail time, but eventually one of these incidents has to lead to something. Or does he have to actually kill someone first?

Frank Ocean hardly needs the attention from this. He's doing just fine.

  31. Trey as sickening as this is, I have a friend who has been a longtime lover of CB and actually said that Rhianna probably deserved it, she was probably being a crazy bitch and he just reacted. This is a friend who was with me when my boyfriend at the time decided that he liked to punch me in the face and when I asked her if she thought I deserved it, she said she didn't know the situation well enough. So those are the kind of people that still support him, sadly enough.

  32. FTR--I DO think CB should be considered in violation of parole, or whatever, for this punch. It's just a smallish fight compared to his other infamy.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh I have no doubt that sooner rather than later CB is going to be shot by someone he attacks. He obviously has the maturity of an 8 yr old (not meant as an insult to 8 year olds) but I haven't even heard of Frank Ocean until now, so take that for what it's worth.

I'm not defending him. I can't stand him, his gf beating ways or the damn lisp he has. I'm just not into HE'S DONE IT BEFORE SO HE MUST BE GUILTY. I don't think he's a saint but when you look at the facts (even the police on record as not being too concerned)it screams media ploy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jsierra, I'm sorry that happened to you. There are a lot of people who think violence is a normal part of a relationship. I hope you got away from that guy and that friend.

Unfortunately, Rihanna taking back up with him is sending a horrible message to the world.

    ReplyDelete
  35. ABlake, I think we're going to have to agree to disagree. There are no facts yet, just a couple of quotes from the police from gossip sites. And even those quotes and stories are contradictory. Like I said, Frank Ocean's story is that Chris punched him, not that he shoved him. Chris has already been violent multiple times since he was put on probation. There's a reason you're in bigger trouble for smaller crimes when you're on probation, and it's because your past actions do count against you. Frank Ocean isn't known as a violent person and Chris is. Maybe nothing will come of this, but I'm not sure why Chris deserves the benefit of the doubt here over someone like Ocean, who has always seemed calm and uses his words instead of his fists to make his point.

    ReplyDelete
  36. <3 libby :) thanks for that. I promise I'm not defending him for beating her. Again, release the lions!
It's just that I think this guy may be using the bandwagon for all its worth and that's not fair (if the accounts of him starting it by blocking in Chris' car and waiting for him to come out of the session) That's all.

JSeirra no one ever 'deserves' it. No one. I had an ex like that. I took care of it by flying an older brother into town. (Well actually, he took care of it) We aren't put on this earth to be hit and abused.

Chris and Frank don't get along, haven't had for some time. I think they had a Twitter fight at one point. So who knows what really went down. Chris clearly has issues, but he and Frank had 'beef' anyway.

As far as enjoying his music, I can't fault anyone for that. There are lots of unsavory people in the industry who produce good entertainment. It's a delicate balance. How to separate the person from the work? It's a question that I don't think will ever have a complete answer.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thats why I get so irritated with Ri too, no one should have to deal with that shit but it's almost like she wants it, she is encouraging him that he can do whatever the fuck he wants to people and everyone will still support him. Taylor freaking Swift, little miss goody goody supports him for christ's sake.

It also ties in with the whole Lena saying Ri isn't a good role model. Do you want your kids looking up to someone who lets herself be used and abused?

It's easy to say that Rihanna allows herself to be abused. The more difficult question is why. We know that many who have been abused return to their abusers several times. Rihanna is following that bad trend.

Instead of worrying about why Rihanna isn't a role model, I'd rather see her take care of herself. She's carries a lot of hurt and acts out with the skimpy clothes, numerous tattoos( subbing that for cutting, maybe?), and drug use.

It's a complex issue and sadly, there are no easy answers.

i didn't get why people got so angry yesterday but i get it now. i feel that frank ocean (and other celebs) coming out has made it okay to some people to make gay jokes. making jokes is often the entire reason why people don't come out. they end up living a closeted life full of hate. how can you applaude someone coming out then joke that they probably want to have sex with every same-sex person they encounter?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think Ocean's "coming out" was more publicity stunt than liberation.Saying Target wouldn't stock his cd because he came out(but Target has Elton John,George Michael and Ricky Martin) was slanderous.Target should have sued.
People joked about Mantei T'eo's sexuality and no one came to his defense.Katie Couric asked the boy if he was gay but no one protested.
If you're gay and a celeb, you need to roll with the punches just like the str8 celebs who get busted for their indiscretions.

      Delete
  52. @ Ablake - another story from yesterday. Sue match.com for the paper cut.

Like I said in yesterday's post, in no way is CB a saint, or Jesus for that matter sheesh, but yes, this seems likes way to take advantage of CB's previous behavior to make him look like the instigator, when he really might not have started *this* particular fight. Been there, knows how it feels.

Does anyone remember the story about the alligator and some other animal? It's basically about an animal befriending the alligator, until it bites him, and the animal was wondering why the gator bit him after befriending him, and the gator basically says "What do you expect? I'm a gator - it's in my nature to eat you." I might've gotten the set-up wrong, but the moral stayed the same. Chris is an alligator, he doesn't know any better, and it seems like this behavior is so ingrained that he can't change. That doesn't make it blameless, just don't go looking for him to be a bigger person in this situation, and to provoke him almost makes it look like you're looking for trouble. Just my two cents, and sorry for the book. :/

    ReplyDelete

  67. @Tuxedo Cat - I agree, Sheen's an asshole...but are we turning this into a race thing? My main issue with Fist Brown is that he has never ever ever come across as sorry or remorseful for ANYTHING he has ever done, and instead hurls abuse at people who dare question his behaviour, which CONTINUES to be violent and abusive whenever he gets the chance. 73. For fuck's sake, just curious is back on his ranting and raving. Not all whites hate blacks. Not all women are vindictive and deserve getting hit because they are allegedly aggressive. Enough! Enough, enough, enough! I sooooo wish we could block certain people on this site.

On the Charlie Sheen topic. First off, he is an asshole. He abuses women, drugs and god knows what else, and shows zero remorse. With that being said, after the abuse allegations, he didn't go on to nearly blind a dude in a club. He didn't get into fight after fight, after fight (physically and verbally). He didn't go to Twitter to say what a badass he is, talk about kicking peoples asses, or how the world is against him. THAT is why Brown is in the media still. He just won't stop.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I don't think just curious said that all whites hate blacks. He's saying that black men tend to get treated more harshly than white men who do the same crime. Anyone that can't admit that must have been on another planet for the last two centuries. (I do realize Charlie is 1/4 Spanish).

I think Charlie Sheen and Chris Brown are both acting like violent assholes and have been for some time. Chris obviously needs anger management. Charlie has probably had anger management instruction, which is why he has managed to keep his hands (if not other things) to himself lately.

    ReplyDelete
  75. @PuggleWug

So you would block people who raise uncomfortable subjects like racism?

Why shouldn't just curious be able to express his opinion freely just as you do?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Chris Brown does not get judged more harshly than Charlie Sheen because he is black, it's because we all saw a fucking picture of the girl whose head he smashed in the fucking door.

It's the fucking access. That shut spread like wildfire because he did it in the age of the Internet and the picture got out.

I am quite frankly sick to death of people trying to make this about race. Guess what? I don't give a good god damn what colour he is, I just think he's a fucking douche. I don't even care what colour YOU are - you're a person just like I am.

  78. @TuxedoCat - actually, if you look at justcurious' last comment directed at me, he/she implied I am being unfair to Fist Brown because I am white, and me and my (white) "folk" are shoveling shit when it comes to the Difficult Brown. THAT is racist.

I have only recently come back to this site after an extended absence, but the more comments, I read, it is becoming clear to me that commenter is a troll. I'll be ignoring him/her from now. Not worth my time.
