Heidi Montag And Spencer Pratt Got Paid $500K For Celebrity Big Brother

I think I have figured out why Celebrity Big Brother in the UK does not attract many stars. They think ones like Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are worth $500K. For one week's work, the couple was paid $500K. For that kind of money I am shocked Lindsay Lohan didn't want to appear on the show. It sure would beat doing what she does for middle age men with presents. Plus she can be the biggest pain in the butt ever because she gets paid in advance. Compare that amount with something like Dancing With The Stars and the approximately $250K participants get, although it can be higher, and the amount of practice and work you have to do. You work way harder for that kind of money unless you have the game figured out like Pamela Anderon who flies from one reality show to the next earning serious coin and getting eliminated the first week after she has been paid.

  1. Nice work if you can get it.

  2. I'm continually amazed how Pamela Anderson manages to clean up and find a place for herself in the current show business world.

    1. Oh, I think she just sink washes her junk before heading to the next "engagement". Saves a LOT of time.

  3. How quickly do you think Spencer is going to blow that $500K on crystals?

  4. @dee, it's the last paycheck that size either will see in this lifetime, and they had to go overseas to milk the Anything American niche market for it.

  5. I hope Heidi manages to hold onto some, I feel a bit sorry for her these days. Bad decisions.

  6. They are brilliant in it, they're making the show so I'd think the producers are happy with their decision.
Lindsay couldn't last three weeks without drink and drugs and probably wouldn't pass the psych tests.

    1. Absolutely! I wouldn't watch it if they weren't in the house.

  7. You have to put it in perspective. The UK will tax that money far more aggressively then the US.

  8. Shocky - You changed your name! I don't know how SPENCER passed the psych test if they give one.

    1. @disco I did! It's actually the one I've been using online for fifteen years or so, I thought it appropriate to use it here too. You're right re Spencer, they are TV gold on CBB though :)

  9. To be fair, they are doing pretty good on CBB. Of course, that might have to do with the fact that the other "celebs" are pretty dull this season.

  10. Just when I was starting to think that it was possible for famewhores to disappear, these two pop right up again, proving that famewhores are the cockroaches of the human race.

  11. Yeah no way could Lilo make it a whole week away from her entourage of enablers. It's just not worth the $500K. She probably was in talks with the producers but her list of demands and $$ requests were so ridic they felt it just wasn't worth the headache of Liho..Plus her mom probably wanted to be there.

  12. I watch celeb big brother UK on YouTube and the "celebrities" they get are so much more obscure than the "celebrities" that do American "celebrity" reality shows. They'll fill the "celeb" big brother house with someone like a local weatherman or some woman who appeared topless in a magazine once in 2005 & that was it, it's pretty funny.

At any rate, I love the formula, I don't know why we don't have a "celeb" big brother in the US

  13. My son had the same outfit as Spencer, when he was 3.

  14. You guys that are watching on YouTube (as I am) there is a sister show called Big Brother's Bit On The Side (BBBOTS). You should check that out. The main host, Emma Willis, is pretty much the most adorable tv presenter ever. One of the other presenters, Jamie East, launched Holy Moly, which used to be a great UK gossip newsletter (then he sold it and now it's mainstream and a bit rubbish)

  15. Aside from the drugs, Lindsay hides a lot of her bad behavior at tries to. There's no way she wants transparency on how she behaves around the clock , it would make lying about it later impossible or harder. Lol, it is Lindsay. She'd figure it out.

  16. @ Shocky (and any UK viewers of CBB)- What exactly are they doing to "make" the show?

I've never watched Celebrity Big Brother. Aren't they sort of locked up on the set? Lohan wouldn't be able to show up late or no-show on a program like that. Oh, the horror!

    1. @Mango Spencer is like a pantomime villain and Heidi seems sweet. They have offended everyone (all ten other housemates nominated them in the first round of nominations) and dislike more or less everyone in there. Some of it is a culture clash.
Yes, they're locked in a house with the other housemates for the duration of the show. This series there is a second room which served as a basement in the first week (half the housemates, including H&S had to live in it while the other half lived in luxury upstairs) but is now a secret room where H&S are living for a secret task. They had to pretend to leave the house but were taken to the other room where they've been spying on the others in the main house for the last two days. Tonight they leave that and go back to the main house - hopefully it will be amazing.

  17. For all our Brits, what are some good UK gossip blogs?

  18. @JSierra there aren't really any. Holy Moly and Popbitch used to be great when they were email newsletters but that was years ago. Now they're all a bit 'Perez'. When I was in the UK I got my celeb gossip primarily from US sites.
