Today's Blind Items - Tired Of Being Good

It is Wednesday, but there are announcements. As promised yesterday, I will be doing a bonus day of reveals tomorrow. They will be interspersed with gossip and random photos and the blinds, but they also could just be the first three hours of the day tomorrow. Regardless, the gossip or reveals will start at 6am my time. I'm not sure how many more there are to reveal, but I think about ten.

She is a foreign born B list actress. She probably has another year or so of that status until her fame begins to wear off. A franchise will do that to you. You get that afterglow, but if you don't do anything with it, then at some point you just become a footnote in movie history and a regular at conventions signing your autograph and answering the same questions repeatedly. Our actress is aware of all this but she can't seem to change her goody goody image. She is stuck in roles she doesn't want and also, no one really wants her. They think of her as her character and she can't break out of it. She also thinks she is a better actress than she is. Money is not an issue for our actress. She has plenty. She also has a string of boyfriends who tired of her neediness and constant reassurance she requires to make it through a day. She would love to do Playboy, but her parents would kill her and that means a lot to her. She would love to do a hard R movie with a sex scene, but the two she has auditioned for she didn't get because it was just so hard to take her seriously at it. The producers thought about it for the publicity aspect of it, but the film would bomb with her in it as a lead actress. She has thought about being caught with drugs but she doesn't use them. She rarely drinks either and when she does just gets giggly and falls asleep within a few minutes. She has actually been in trouble once. Kind of. She just doesn't know if she can do that again because she is so shy.

  2. I also get giggly and fall asleep after drinking.

One of the girls from PLL?

  3. Oh, Emma. I have a soft spot for all the Potter kids - I'm such a huge Potterhead and I'd hate if this was her. She is talented and beautiful - you're better than this, sweetie!

  4. Emma Watson for sure.
She kind of ruined The perks of being a wallflower for me.
What did she get into trouble for?

  6. I couldn't think of anyone you guys are on a roll today! What did Emma get in trouble for once?

    ReplyDelete
  7. maybe the one time she got in trouble had something to do with why she left college - it always seemed like the wasn't telling the whole story about that.

    ReplyDelete
  8. And who in HP did she get in trouble with? Im thinking someone married..

    ReplyDelete
  9. Emma Watson once got out of a car with half-transparent pants that were photographed. That was the only incident she was involved in.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Didn't Emma accidentally flash her panties once or something? At least she was wearing them! I'm on board the Emma train. Love her! Hope she sticks around.

  11. Hermione in Playboy is a far greater stretch for me than any movie role if this is Emma. I don't see why studio heads think she's too closely associated with the HP franchise to develop her acting career when that hasn't stopped Daniel Radcliffe from plowing ahead.

  12. Didn't Emma Watson do a Anne Hathaway once ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. This has to be Emma Watson. I wonder if Enty is referring to an incident a few years ago where she flashed her good china to the paps exiting a limo. If I recall, she was actually wearing lace undies, but the camera flashes revealed all. Since she never seemed the famewhore type I assumed it was accidental.

If I recall, she also auditioned for Lisbeth Salander in the remake. Her name was also (laughably) bandied around for Kitness too. That was probably just wishful thinking.

  14. like every brit star, emma watson can work forever - bbc and mixed european productions. just slight lesser money than us paychecks.

doubt its her. she is doing her stuff, studying, working. doesn´t strike me as "needy". would say she is better educated and smarter than a large chunk of her colleagues. they take the drugs, and do directors. that should be the road to take for her? doubt that.

    but again, who knows?

    :-)

    happy new year !!!!

  15. After that Halloween story with Emma and the little boy dressed as Harry Potter, this gives me the sadz. I hope she finds something else to do with her life.

  16. I hope it's not Emma Watson, but she does seem like a good fit. I had more respect for her than this. I would hate to see her stoop so low for publicity. I can't understand why Hermione would hold her back either. She is young and beautiful, her role in HP would make no difference to me if I saw her in something else.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wasn't her audition for Lisbeth the reason she cut off her hair? I wonder if she was considered for 50 Shades for the publicity but the film would bomb.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It defn reads like Emma Watson, but I sincerely hope it isn't her. In interviews, she comes across as intelligent and likable, not needy.

@Stephani, flashed her good china - awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  19. This being Emma Watson wouldn't add up with the stories of her not being willing to do some of the stuff written for her "character" in that James Franco movie though. Supposedly she thought the material was too racy. If she was trying to shake her good-girl image, wouldn't that have been exactly what she was looking for?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Definitely Emma Watson. She seems like a nice girl, but she's just not a good enough actress to break out.

Dan Radcliffe is a pretty decent actor. Taking the edgy stage role in Equus and getting great reviews for it helped establish him as a legit actor.

    Stephani- LMAO @ good china!!!!

  22. Poor Emma. I think she's a nice young lady meant for Academia and not Hollywood. She should not change who she is for the industry. She already has plenty of money.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I thought I read an article, or blind, that said that Emma is a very hard partier, but also very professional. She may get loaded at night, but shows up at work during the day.

    ReplyDelete
  24. There is NOOOOOOOOOOOOO way this is Emma Watson. She just filmed with Sofia Coppola and is the star of the new Darren Aronofsky flick. RESEARCH people....

    1. But she's not a lead. She hasn't carried a movie by herself. I think that's what this Enty person is getting at.

      Delete
    2. I beleive she's the lead in the Sofia Coppola movie, but more importantly, working with Coppola and Aronofsky tends to cancel out the claim that no one wants to work with her.

  25. @ Derek Harvey

Thanks for stopping this run away train.

I really hoped it wasn't Emma. She's great and thought she was good in Perks of being a Walflower.

  26. How exactly does Enty know what she's been thinking about?

  27. Loling at stephani and "flashing the good china." Love!

  29. What about Diane Kruger? The franchise being National Treasure (there were two of them...does that mean it's a franchise? Not sure). Although I don't think she has a string of boyfriends - hasn't she been with Pacey forever?

  31. Emma was the first name I came up with too. Poor girl. She can still be successful. Many actresses are successful without ever once taking their clothes off too. No shame in that at all. In fact, it's commendable.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm with Derek - "stuck with roles she doesn't want and also, no one really wants her." She has three movies in post and one in pre-production. This doesn't really scream 'no one wants her'.

    ReplyDelete
  33. She's not a girl to feel sorry for. I spent all my money on xmas and now I can't pay my utilities this month. Poor me!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was thinking Anna Kendrick for some reason, since she was in Twilight. I haven't really followed her career, but she could easily be locked into the boring, strait-laced girl zone.

  35. Speaking of the whole "china" business: Back around 10 years ago or so on the Sweet Potato Queens' Messageboard of Love, "china" became the term of choice for female genitalia after someone posted that she'd heard her little boy explaining the facts of life to his younger sibling--"men have a penis, and women have a big china." Some time later, the subject of "china" came up (as it tends to), and a totally innocent newbie piped up that she had several sets of china, including her great-grandmother's antiques...After the entire readership of the Board collectively pissed itself laughing, some kind soul finally spoke up and explained to the by now very confused poster just what was so damned funny. So, yeah, china... ;-)

(BTW, even though the Messageboard of Love went the way of all forums a number of years back, I'd still recommend checking out any of Jill Conner Browne's Sweet Potato Queens books--you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll help replenish Jill's plastic surgery funds to boot. ;-) Where the hell was this woman when I was living in the South and really needed someone like her? Oh, yeah...Jackson, MS, and I was in Athens, GA... *sigh*)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I couldn't think of anyone, I'm not super great at blinds...

Derek makes a valid point though..

I am curious to who this is! Research time.

Sigh, I'm never going to get any work done....this why I lurked but couldn't help wanting to sign up, funny group of people on this board!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anna Kendrick's not a bad guess, but she was born in the US.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I have a hard time believing this is Emma. She is the last person I would think would want to be in playboy and I'm pretty sure she was hand-picked by Steven Chbosky for the Perks of Being a Wallflower movie. And now working with Sofia Coppola. So that doesn't really fit in with the whole "no one wants her" thing.

  40. My first thought was Emma Watson too. But she does not strike me as shy (this is the same person who had a page dedicated to her in Entertainment Weekly JUST FOR CUTTING HER HAIR and then denying that she did it for the Lizabeth Salander part, when everyone knows otherwise). The only way she would fit is the string of boyfriends and maybe not wanting the parts she is getting. But she is getting parts and it's not like she's hard up for work. She just might not be getting the edgy, flashier parts.
She was the one who walked off the set of the Seth Rogen/James Franco movie because she objected to some of the stuff going on. I think Radcliffe was offered a part in it before her and he turned it down.
All that blubbering and I am not sure who it is.

  41. I will never be able to look at my Mom's good china the same way.

    ReplyDelete
  42. on the "china" topic.. when i was reeaally young, i also thought a womean's ladybits were called "china"! i think i got that from the movie kindergarten cop where the little kid says something like "boys have penises and girls have vaginas". apparently i knew the penis part but had not heard the proper female term lol

    ReplyDelete
  43. Emma fits this, but I would be pretty shocked if this blind was about her. She's never seemed to want that much fame, wanting to go to college instead of acting right after HP. In addition, she does modeling work and has been the face for a couple different designers. I think her acting skills make her perfect for still photography, but if she were to choose to get nekkid, I think it would be for a classier publication than Playboy.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I really don't think this is Emma Watson, she's seems to be getting a lot of work and with good directors. She's doing The Bling Ring by Sophia Coppola, Noah by Darren Arronofsky and This Is The End by Seth Rogen and Evan Peterson...that is a pretty diverse list of upcoming projects.

    ReplyDelete
  45. What about one of the Bond girls like Gemma Atterton or Olga Kurylenko? Or Haylie Atwell from Camptain America. Gemma seems to be getting a ton of work but Olga only two projects in post-production on IMDB and nothing in pre-production or filming.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Emma watson just finished to work with Darren Aronofsky's Noah and the last Sofia Coppola movies on the teens who stole Hollywood houses (Lohan twice,Bloom....)to buy drugs & outfits

    ReplyDelete
  47. TBH, if Emma Watson starred in a movie, I'd have no idea who she is. HP aside (never saw the movie, or read the books), if she's a good actress, she should be able to carry a role. I have nothing to compare her to, so I'd base my opinion on the performance itself. I'd be surprised that producers wouldn't see the value in her if she's a good actress. I keep saying that, because I have no idea. At least she's not scandalous like LL or Amanda Bynes. If she's good, hire her! Playboy would NOT be the way to go.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @Stephani...that's what we call it in our house too, lol. That and "who ha"...yes, we are mature.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Just for the record:

Emma Watson never auditioned for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." She never pursued it and was never attached to it. The rumor started because she got her hair cut, but she did that because, after ten years as a character defined by her hair, she wanted to change it. She'd still have it that short if she didn't feel it was interfering with her getting roles.

That's all there is to that.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't by this as Emma either. She has flashed both nipple and vagina to the paps, Worn rather see-through dresses to premires, and from the photos of her in "The Bling Ring" it seems like she is fine with exposing herself. The actress in the blind seems like someone who wants too do stuff like that but just can't get over their own self-consciousness. Also, Emma has been drinking for years and there are numerous photos of her with alcohol. Combine that with the fact that she has been in other films since HP ended and it seems the blind is leading us to an actress who has not had much, if any, success in doing that.

I can't think of any forign born actresses in the Twilight series though so it's probably someone else from HP. How about Evanna Lynch? Although the b-list actress would be generous for her. Perhaps Bonnie Wright? She's been in all of the films and is the love interest of Harry. I would say that gives her some credence for a b-list actress. She hasn't been in a lot of other films and she is foreign born. Also I think the role of Ginny Weasley is definitely the type that woud cause the actress to be remembered as that character. Enough screen time to make the actress memorable but not enough to distinguish them as anything other then that character.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Bonnie and Evanna are better guesses. Though Emma fits, uber makes some good points. "No one really wants her" doesn't make sense because Aronofsky's a big deal now after black Swan, and Coppola's movies often have some "prestige" and are big with indie audiences. That End of the World movie will mature her for mainstream comedy audiences and young adults, as well as that other Seth Rogen one she's working on. So a lot of it doesn't make sense. Also, even though she's known as Hermione, she has a lot of devoted fans worldwide and as someone else said, could really easily work with the BBC forever - people would freak the hell out if she wound up on Doctor Who or Sherlock and on something like Luther, which has an international presence as well, could play a mature role. So..

    1. I realize you Harry Potter people think everyone in those movies was B list but they are unknown and wouldn't even make a grade at this point. Only Emma fits this.

  52. not Emma...Surely someone who is not known for sex appeal.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Female, foreign in a franchise that will have you being stuck with your character. She wants to do Playboy which makes me believe she is in the US full time. Probably young since her parents still influence how she will live her life.

That should be a pretty narrow list.
I can only think of Emma Watson that hasn't moved away from her franchise-role.

Don't think Bonnie or Evanna should be considered B-list.

Also "the two she has auditioned for she didn't get because it was just so hard to take her seriously at it"

Makes you think her earlier role was not very serious to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I read this as comedy franchise that was already a little older. Like, American pie. But I don't know who'd fit.

    ReplyDelete
  55. What about Dakota Fanning?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Dakota Fanning isn't foreign born not her.

Emma is a lead in Sofia's The Bling Ring about the group of teens who robbed all the celebs reality stars.

But honestly I can't see her as anything but Hermoine (sp?)

  57. Hi All--

Loonnnggg time lurker over here. Coming out of the "woodwork" only because I feel some sort of misguided moral obligation to exculpate Emma Watson as the subject of this blind. And no, I don't give a crap about HP. Or Emma, really, tbh. The only reason I reallllyyy hope Enty didn't write this BI about Emma is because I know it's not her, and then I'd have to seriously doubt the veracity of most of the BIs on CDAN.

I certainly don't claim to know Emma, but based on what I've heard about her from two different people who've known her, there is no way this blind item is about her. The Playboy thing simply does not fit at all. Apparently she takes her acting very seriously and is one of those intellectual types who cares about the "craft" and getting people to say,"she's not just Hermione, she's a real thespian!!!" That's just as annoying as some little starlet who thinks Playboy is a good career move, if you ask me.

This sounds more to me like Evangeline Lilly.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thanks for posting, @fritters! Hope you come back again, soon!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think maybe Enty is exaggerating a bit here (e.g. "no one wants her"), but this just screams Emma Watson to me. Hopefully her next few films do well and lead to more opportunities so that she doesn't feel like she needs to become just another piece of HW trash.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Definitely not Emma Watson, she's been a very busy girl.

The other two HP actresses are good guesses. Both have more money than they will ever need and haven't done much since HP ended. Especially the one that played Luna Lovegood...I read that she recently appeared in a HP spoof, a musical.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Evangeline Lilly is in the new "Hobbit" movie, and the next one. She also has a kid, which would warrant a mention.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Emma Watson makes a ton of money modeling. Designers can't wait to dress her. She was just in My Week with Marilyn and has a bunch of movies coming out. There are no string of boyfriends, either. She doesn't fit at all.

    ReplyDelete
  63. @Robin TMP - That was a cute book, although I preferred the YaYas to the Sweet Potato Queens. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I was thinking Vanessa Hudgens?

  65. "Flashing the good china!" :D

    ReplyDelete
  66. The blind says she's stuck with roles she doesn't like, so she works.

  67. Emma is smoldering on the cover of Marie Claire today. Talking about being her own worst critic, striving toward the next thing, older and more confident.

    Hmmm...
