Blind Item #2

This B- list comedic actor has had his share of trouble in the past. He divides his time between television and movies and is on a middling network show now. He also has a drug issue which has caused him to lose work in the past and which had him destroy a set during rehearsals about six weeks ago. Someone said something to him and he knocked over tables and smashed through the walls of the set. It took the rest of the say to rebuild the damage he caused.

  1. What's considered a middling network?

    1. I saw it as a clue. The show The Middle is on ABC and so is Tim Allen's show.

  2. I don't really think it's him, but this makes me think of Tim Allen, only because my kids think his new show is hi-lar-ious. Even though it's Home Improvement recast with girl children instead of boy children. Tim Allen; preying on the younger generation's ignorance of sitcom history.

    1. God, I hated Home Improvement. Such a sexist, mysoginistic show.
My 90's girl power self couldn't stand it.

    2. @ Its just - this new one is pretty far to ye olde right, politically, which irritates me. But it's harmless fun for my kids, especially the 11 year old, who literally rolls around on the floor laughing at all the old, retreaded jokes, that are new and awesome to his young ears.

    3. I haven't seen that new one yet.
Kids find the strangest things funny. My two crack themselves up laughing at all kinds of things. Maybe I'm getting old coz I don't get half of it!!

  3. @ Lotta - I think that means a middling show on a network. Not a huge hit, but not a total dog either.

  4. Tim Allen also dealt/used drugs for a while before he became famous, so that's a good guess.

  5. Kevin James? - he does movies and TV.

  6. Tim Allen's new show is just awful.
The first season was OK, but that's because Nancy Travis, Hector Elizondo & the girls got all the good lines.

But Allen's ego went out of control over the summer & he must have demanded major changes.
One of the actresses playing a daughter was replaced & Allen's character was turned into a right wing crank.
Now it's not funny & unwatchable!

  8. @Becca - yes! What you said! Mr. F has a loyal, undying crush on Nancy Travis - ever since So I Married an Axe Murderer. When he told our boys about it, they rolled their eyes majorly - it was pretty funny.

  9. What about Matthew Perry. His new show is called "Go On"

  10. Is Chevy Chase still on Community?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @LC - Matthew Perry is an excellent guess.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is that Guys with kids show still on? If so, I vote for the guy from Barbershop.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Matthew Perry! Put me in on that guess...It seems so obvious now!

  14. I was thinking Chevy Chase too. But I think he either quit or got fired from Community a month or so ago. This could be him, and this could be the reason he was fired.

  15. I agree with the Matthew Perry guess, but if it's true it's sad to hear he's still battling his demons

  16. You can't just "smash through" the walls of a set.they are built in the same manner a wall in a house is built. The drywall alone would take a lot to get through, and no shows have gone on an unplanned hiatus.

  17. No human appendage has EVER penetrated the mighty drywall.

  18. My stepfather's home must have been plagued by flying bowling balls. I knew it.

  19. I thought Matthew Perry would be higher than B- list because of Friends. He also hasn't been in a movie in four years.

I hope it's not Tim Allen and I agree with what everyone here is saying about his new show. I will, however, tune in this spring when JTT guest stars.

  20. Someone from the middle? the dad, Neil Flynn? He's been around for a while

    ReplyDelete
  21. Matthew Perry doesn't seem the angry type though.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Please not Matthew Perry, please not Matthew Perry, please not Matthew Perry. I feel like he's taken his sobriety seriously, even when he's stumbled. He has acknowledged his addiction and done rehab (more than once, I believe). Basically, I just wish him well and hope that, if it is him, he makes things right.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't think Matthew Perry seems the angry type either and his drug of choice was Oxys and those don't exactly turn you into a rage machine, more like a sleepy bear.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, people who abuse oxys can have days where they are easily agitated, erratic, paranoid etc. I've witnessed this with a roommate and we openly discussed the variety of moods/side effects she would feel while on them.

  24. First time poster here. Could it be Chris Kattan? He was on the show The Middle.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jason Segel. He's on that show on CBS and also does movies.

    ReplyDelete
  26. David Spade- but is he even B list anymore?

  27. To back up the Tim Allen guess, here's info on his previous arrests:

"On May 24, 1997, Allen was charge with drunk driving and doing 70 miles per hour in a 40 mile-per-hour zone. It wasn't his first visit with the inside of a jail. In October 1978, Allen was arrested on a felony drug charge when authorities caught him carrying 1.4 pounds of cocaine. He ended up doing only 2-1/2 years in prison because he testified against his drug partner.
He was arrested again in November 1979, and spent 28 months in the Sandstone Federal Correctional Institution on drug possession."

  28. Tracy Morgan? He has a couple of DUI's and has done tv and movies. he's on 30 Rock.

  29. David Spade will always be B list to me. I heart him in spite of myself.

  30. I thought Matthew Perry when I read it, but keep getting caught up on "middling." I wonder if that's a clue to mean The Middle, or even a show on the same network as The Middle (is it ABC?). The mental image of Chris Kattan having a crazy outburst is making me laugh, not gonna lie.

@It's Just U- "Home Improvement" was hardly misogynistic. To the contrary, HI was a satire on male chauvinism and hyper-masculinity and the joke was always on Tim Taylor and his foolish attitudes and behavior. My guess is, you never took the time to actually watch it.

    1. Bwahahaha! Good one!

    2. I watched it, but that's how my 90's teenage girl self felt at the time.

  32. Chris Kattan. Frankie's job has dissapeared at the car dealership, so goes his appearances?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tim Allen was partying with a couple of Detroit (he's a local boy) area DJ's and they got trashed. He was pulled over at 9:30 at night, told the cop it was the middle of the night, he (and his passenger, Ken Calvert IIRC) were both completely trashed.

While I'm no great fan of Allen, 2 incidents 35 years ago and 1 incident 15 years ago hardly point to a "current" problem.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Heh, Libby, bowling balls, yep.

I SO want this to be Will Arnett and for his db self to have a really hard time getting work. Probably not, but a girl can dream.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Libby - you just made my day...

    mighty drywall...

    ReplyDelete
  36. @libby "plagued by flying bowling balls" is now going in my vocabulary! lol

As for the blind? I hope it's not Tim - but it sounds likely. He was rather well known as having issues with cocaine and alcohol in his Pre-celebrity days working in Denver at Sears and doing standup at night.

  37. If it were Matthew Perry, I'm pretty sure Enty would have included something like, 'He couldn't go on the set without damaging it.' See, sticking 'go on' in the text somewhere would be clue. Since that didn't happen, I'm on the Chris Kattan train. In no world anywhere is Tim Allen B- anything. Whether we like it or not, he's NOT B-. He can certainly carry a movie on his name alone. He carried his new show this far, too. Nancy Travis is a perk, but he's the name behind it. It's Home Improvement 2.0. Chris Kattan sounds like a much better fit. B- and all. Plus the previously mentioned reasons (the Middle, etc.)

    ReplyDelete
  38. My guess is David Spade. The show he's on is always randomly on. They use it like a filler show when something else gets cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Isn't Kelsey Grammer on some blah show now? He used to be a public drunk, which makes me think he could have a private drug problem now.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I wasn't even aware that Tim Allen had a new show. I never cared for Home Improvement but he was great in Galaxy Quest. I love that movie!

I'm also one who hopes it's not Matthew Perry.

    Sure, Chris Kattan! He'll do!

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Vera, spending over 2 years in a federal penitentiary is not what I'd call "an incident."

    ReplyDelete
  42. Uh uh, Libby. I have two brothers, and one pushed the other into the wall behind our front door when we were teenagers. The drywall caved and there was a hole there for years cuz my parents were like that...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Def Matthew Perry! His drug of choice is Vicodin washed down with Vodka. He's a first class A-Hole!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm guessing that that show is considered middling, and it's on a network, which points me to Community. Gotta be Chevy Chase.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Andy Samberg, just for something different?
(I haw absolutely NOTHING to base this on...)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Andy Samberg would NEVER! Also can't be Tracy Morgan, as 30 Rock is cancelled now. This sounds a lot like Chris Kattan but is he really dividing his time between tv and movies? I think he was lucky to even get his role on The Middle. Everything else fits though! Though I was never a fan of his comedy on SNL, a lot of people were, I think his talent was completely wasted by his hardcore addiction and fall-out from drugs!
