Don't Try This At Home

Have you ever thought about riding a skateboard and then leaping off it to do a backflip down six stairs and landing on another skateboard and continuing on your way? Then this video is for you. Have you ever wanted to watch a guy practice riding a skateboard and then leaping off it to do a backflip down six stairs and failing miserably with bone crushing intensity? Then this video is for you.

  1. Not a helmet in sight. I predict a short live for this young man if he keeps this up.

  3. While I would never do it, I admire him for practicing till he got it. Safety gear would have been wonderful, I just hope young people don't emulate this.

  5. That trick where they ride the stair handrail on the board? I worked in a trauma center a few years ago. The handrail was wood, the kid slipped, and rode the rest of the way on his own. Three hours with a urologist, a vascular surgeon, and 28 shards of wood and we were done. I told every detail to my (then) 12 year old son when I got home, and skateboarding was crossed off my list of things to worry about.

And all these hours of jumping in the air and slamming his body in to pavement, broken bones, back injuries, etc are going to help him in the real world when? I dated a skateboarding guy who was sponsored at the end of highschool, he was 23, had many scars, broken bones, a major back injury that would flare up and lay him up in bed unable to move, and he would just keep injuring himself. Why? To impress his skateboarding buddies who looked up to him. I know I sound like a curmudgeon but it's stupid! I think that kids should get part time jobs after school, if they're not athletes, all skateboarding will do is give you lifelong injuries.
