In case you missed Jack Nicholson hitting on Jennifer Lawrence and her seemingly enjoying every second of it, it is worth watching.

  2. I loved him for it. Man's got some cajones. Dirty, sweaty old ones perhaps, but cajones none the less.

  3. Here's hoping you keep keeping it real, Ms. Lawrence. So cute. Take note, Hathaway.

  4. Saw this yesterday, love her! "Do I look like a new girlfriend?"

She's like this in all of her interviews, very funny.

  5. She bears a striking resemblance both physically and in personality to my sister-in-law. So, even though it shouldn't matter, I am glad that she is a likeable celeb.

  6. Read a backstage report that Kelly Ripka walked past Jack and gushed over him. After she walked away he asked a reporter "Who was that?"

  7. This was the highlight of the night. Those two could have traded jabs all night. I had to play this for the Mum and she always says so sweetly "that Jack just doesn't give a shit"

  8. I put this on my Facebook page yesterday and about 10 friends re-posted it. Hilarious.
Let's see-how do I say this correctly...The difference between Jennifer and AnnE is why we hate on AnnE. She just comes off as a total snob. Does that make sense?

    1. Perfect sense. It is why Jennifer had people charmed and laughing during her post Oscar win and Anne had the room going WTF and rolling their eyes

  9. I love her, and this is why.

    1. @Em, yay you watched! I posted it pretty late in the thread and figured not many people saw it.

  11. I can see this lecherous old man all over her. I just hope she had protection from him. I loved it when she teased that he was being rude. He had it coming.

  12. Lotta, was it you who posted this in the JLaw bomb thread yesterday? I loved it!! Mr thought it was hilarious, too. He's all, "That old lech, she handled it well."

Have you seen the pic of her flipping the bird in the press room?

RDJ, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Jackman are all timelessly attractive, and I would definitely holler back at any of them. (Cloons isn't my thing, but lots of women have it bad for him.) As far as I'm concerned men really do improve year after year, getting more mature, more seasoned, more perspective, more wisdom, more comfortable with themselves. More aware of women's needs, frailties, emotions, minds, more respectful and kind. Can you tell I prefer older men? Women seem to always hang on to their looks and personalities from their twenties, at least Hollywood women. Lke the f'ing housewives of blah blah. They get more catty, more immature, more obnoxious, more self absorbed, more inwardly ugly every year. Some women, like Hellen Mirren, Sophia Loren, Maya Angelou, understand and accept that they'll never be the same as they were in their twenties and don't want to be. It's about aging gracefully, gaining wisdom, peace, happiness, and shining from the inside out. It's so sad to see an older women, pulled, sewn, plumped, cheeks and lips stuffed within an inch of their life, dressing like 21year olds, tottering around arthritic ankles and hips in high heels, using falsly high pitched voices trying to sound like young girls, giving younger women (like me) nasty looks. I was around a woman like that last night, and I find it pitiful. Rant over.

  16. She was starstruck and I love that.

  17. @Lotta, yes! Somebody called her "classless" because of it and I was thinking, well, she's probably flipping off that reporter who asked if she thought she had peaked too young. I'd flip him off, too!

She's 22, beautiful, very talented, and down-to-earth. She'll mature, I'm sure, and look back on the bird-flipping with a "what was I thinking?"

@Robin, very interesting link and discussion!

    1. @prolixe- I'd even flip off the one who said "what was going through your mind when you fell" such a stupid question.

I would've asked her if she got to meet Meryl at the awards!

  18. Absolutely charming!

  19. I love her a whole lot, but I worry that Harvey does, too. I seriously hope she didn't pull any Blake Lively or Gwyneth moves to advance with him.

  20. Lotta - I loved her answer - "I took a shower"

  21. I love everything about this. Especially when Jack pops back up and says, "I'll be waiting..." So awesomely creeptacular. And total girl-crush on J.Law.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is hilarious. I also love the video of when Jennifer finally sees her family after her win. It's priceless and you can feel the love. LOVE this girl.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Compare this genuine moment to phony Anne Hathaway in her obnoxious little-girl voice, "It came true."

Ugh--THIS is why people love Jennifer Lawrence and despise that contrived c*** Anne H.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yup, I saw this yesterday morning, and Lawrence was adorable. She's either the best actress in the world (which she is not yet, hang in there, Meryl!) or she's a fairly authentic 22-y-old meeting Jack for the first time on live TV, and freaking out that she's just met Jack.

I know he's old and not attractive, but he's a living legend. What 22-y-o wouldn't be all OMG about meeting him?

She's also really quick-witted - her responses here - "I need a rear-view mirror" and in the hilarious post-award interview - show she can think on her feet, isn't controlled by her PR peeps, and is way more than an (let's be honest) only reasonably pretty face by Hollywood standards.

Now that I think about it, this is exactly what I love about Meryl. I hope this still very young woman copes with it as well as Meryl has.

  25. It's official. I don't think I've ever genuinely LIKED a celeb the way I do her before. Keep on keepin' it real Jen, and show them how it's done.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I watched this yesterday and could not stop laughing! She is definitely quick with the responses and her reactions always seem genuine. Love this girl!

    ReplyDelete
  27. love both of them. Jack's still got it. Wish they'd do a movie together, they've obviously got chemistry! A million thanks to the poster who mentioned "The Poker Room" yesterday. Watched it last night, blew me away!

  28. I tried watching Poker House and what I saw Jennifer was excellent. However, Selma was a little meh. It seemed overdone. I can't explain it. It's like watching every person's version of pretending to be drunk and high.

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOVE HER! She is so awesome and deserves all the success she gets.

    ReplyDelete
  30. * "The Poker House" oops.

  31. Delurking to say, in case anyone is wondering, the reporter she'd given the finger to apparently asked her if she was going to fall while walking up the stairs to do press and she jokingly flipped him off in response.

I must be the only human alive who still likes Anne Hathaway. Yes, she got a bit excited throughout awards season but that doesn't make her an awful person. And it speaks volumes to me that she is always so nice towards JLaw, cheering her when she (Anne) was originally set to play Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook. You'd think she'd be in a jealous rage having to pass up the role that got Jennifer Best Actress but she's been nothing but sweet and supportive to Lawrence.

i am HERE for jennifer Lawrence ..I LOVE HER!

  33. @librarian...there are a few of us who really like Anne: me, smash, libby,diapapaya...

Jennifer Lawrence was charming. Love her (my daughter looks just like a 12 year old version of her when she as dark hair).

And Anne...what a bitch for being gracious towards her mother and saying wonderful/kind things about Hugh Jackman and being thrilled for Jennifer Lawrence. And did you see how she tried to steal the spotlight when she came out to sing her solo part of the ensemble? How dare she stand in the spotlight they were aiming at the middle of the stage! That white dress was CLEARLY chosen so that all eyes would be on her. Cunt.

  34. Love JLaw - somehow I think she has enough personality and likability where she could pooh-pooh the advances of a Weinstein and the like and he'd still be charmed and in her corner.

I don't hate Anne Hathaway, but I was never a huge fan or anything. She's a prototypical actress, meaning she's very dramatic, and behaves more like a stage actress (I love watching the Tony's just to see how over-the-top the actors and actresses are).

  35. Oh, and I forgot the part where she seemed embarrassed about her Oscar hosting job and thrilled that she won the pinnacle award in her profession. Geez...me,me,me.... What the hell is she thinking?

    O_o

I thought it was adorable the way she reacted to Jack and the post Oscar interview answers were as funny as I've seen in a scripted tv or movie this year. I think she's great.
Oddly enough didn't love her as Katniss but Find her a breath of fresh air in the cesspool of Hollywood, hope she never changes. Oh and somebody better write her a comedy her timing is spot on.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Lola You forgot me. I like Anne too. She's always seemed like a nice person to me.

Yeah, she's been a bit overexposed this awards season but I like her. Loved her in The Devil Wears Prada.

    ReplyDelete
  40. LOL, @hot...we are such a seemingly small group I should remember everyone! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  41. LOL @Lola.

Yeah, the Anne hatred has been so prevalent these days I felt like I had to say something. I know her speeches were a bit OTT but I'd say it came from her being flustered and overexcited rather than her being a stuck up or conniving bitch. If I'd been in her place, I'd probably act like a babbling, giddy idiot too so I'm hardly one to judge.

    ReplyDelete
  42. JLaw too cute; Anne insufferable.

    ReplyDelete
  43. That was adorable.

I get that Jack Nicholson is thee Jack Nicholson but he shouldn't have interrupted her interview.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have no issues with Anne either. It seems every award season there is gonna be someone that people get tired of and this year it was Anne. She totally deserved that Oscar.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Three words for Jennifer: Lara Flynn Boyle.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jack "you look like and old girlfriend." Jennifer as she twists in her chair toward Jack," But do I look like a new girlfriend?" her lips shaping a wry grin. Jack, "I thought about it..."
Jennifer's reaction is priceless, O-o "Oh, My God!" Double face palm... I love a quick witted girl...

    ReplyDelete
  47. I actually like AnnE. She doesn't stop being herself just b/c she wants to be "likable" in tabloids. She just does her job really well. But JLaw is getting higher on the "celebrities I'd hang with because they are witty and fun."

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's called charm, not "hitting on" somebody.
