Lady GaGa Made Her Assistant Sleep With Her

Lady GaGa is being sued by her former assistant for unpaid overtime. Yesterday I wrote about GaGa's deposition where GaGa called her former assistant a hoodrat and said that all her employees are her slaves. GaGa also swore under oath that GaGa is the queen of the universe. So, yes, queen of the universe and employees are slaves. I understand why you think you are reading a post about Scientology. Anyway, in the assistant's deposition she says that she was required to sleep in the same bed as GaGa every night and that because of that was on call 24/7 and never had one minute to make a phone call or talk to family or even to have sex if she wanted to have sex. I bet she watched a lot though. If you are in bed with GaGa and GaGa has a boyfriend and you have to be next to her at all times, I can see why you would want to invest in some really nice headphones. How did the whole sleeping thing work with three of them?

  2. Ridiculous. This is exactly why I said yesterday that $75K a year sounds low for a job like this. I can't wrap my head around why anyone would take a job like that.

  3. This sounds incredibly far-fetched. Anyhoo, I'm sure this will blow up like yesterday's thread did.

  5. idk i read a less biased more fully informed article on this with way more qoutes than a few plucked here and there. Her assitants job was to pack and unnpack her bags. which she stopped doing. her assitant often had her very own bedroom on gaga private jet, and slept in her own 5* hotels. Maybe at first they slept together but certainly not near the end. The queen of the universe was what gaga said her assistant wanted to be, but if ur in gagas life u are the slave and her the assistant. that all her staff know 75k is all you get, no over time. lady has worked for gaga off and on, so she knows this by now.

im not the biggest fan of gaga at all, but if ur paying someone to unpack your bags and they dont do it, but still go to all the parties and get the hotel rooms etc ur pretty well off. Gaga works a lot and hard, no one can deny that.

  6. There's a fine line between genius and madness.
Gaga started out as a fresh voice, and unfortunately, has proceeded to believe her own publicity.

  7. For some reason, that $75K/yr figure is the standard salary for these poor assistants. They take the job because they are working for a celebrity and assume the perks far outweigh the bullshit that comes along with the 24/7 job. I wouldn't even do it for $200k...you couldn't pay me enough!

  8. Her manager's wife (or ex-wife) gave an interview about 2 years ago and said she makes her assistant sleep with her because she's so insecure.

No amount of money is worth that.

  12. Well she must not be too insecure now - after all, she is the queen of the universe.

  13. Ent I really wish you would link to a source when you post things like this. From what I understand of the (hilarious) testimony, Gaga was talking about how they HAD to sometimes share a bed because the private plane she uses had limited sleeping quarters. That was part of her (again hilarious albeit deluded) testimony, that Jennifer INSISTED on having 3 pillows in order to sleep and never once offered to share a pillow when Gaga's family came along.

@ablake enty always picks little nuggets of information and twists them into wild stories. that's why i never spread gossip from this site until i get more sources lol. i know one guy who did that and he was shut down by everyone he was talking to. super unpleasant to watch

  14. Call me crazy but I would take this job. 75k is a lot of money for someone like me. I would gladly unpack her bags and even wipe her ass if she asked. I make pocket change compared to that.

I think she is very misunderstood and people probably take a lot of what she says out of context

  15. MissInfo, I agree. There is not enough money to pay me to be at the beck and call of some celebrity. For some reason, I am under the impression (correct me if I am wrong, those in the know) that celeb assistants do not make OT, which is why I call b-s on this lawsuit. However, GaGa is losing the PR war on this one.

  16. Do any of Gaga's other assistants get overtime? If they do, then this woman would have a case. If not, then this whole thing is not about overtime. Something happened between the two ladies, a big fight or something, and she got fired. This can't be about the money because Gaga isn't a skinflint from what I have heard.

The question I really want answered was how did this deposition get leaked to the papers?

    ReplyDelete
  17. She called herself the queen of the universe in front a judge? I just dont get that. If it was a regular person saying that, wouldn't they be ordered for counselling or lose their credibility in regards to their testimony? I wish Lilo would try to pull that number lol

  19. I honestly think Gaga is a hack. She completely changed her image to look like some deep artist wearing clothes that lay people wouldn't understand. Her music is subpar, yet she treats it as though it should be some religious experience for all listening. She tries to top herself again and again, and I think she finally can't do anymore. I don't think she will go down in music history as some sort of icon. Perhaps if she acted more like a human being, that wouldn't be the case. I can definitely see her pulling this shit on her employees.

  20. I read some excerpts yesterday from Gaga's testimony and for the life of me couldn't figure out why the fuck Gaga was ranting about how rude her assistant was for wearing headphones and turning her back on Gaga and Gaga's company and taking three pillows WHILE SLEEPING IN THE SAME BED. Just whack-a-doodle.

  21. This is disgusting. The depo testimony is quite colorful and amusing, though.

  22. If I was told that I had to sleep next to my employer every night, deal breaker. Something more had to be going on. That's lunacy on both sides.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree Basil, it is kind of interesting that none of the other employees that 'love her and will spend their days off with her' have spoken out in her defense.
My theory is that since they were best friends at the time, she simply put her on the payroll. It's not beyond reason that she (Jennifer) didn't have to fill out the standard paperwork since even Gaga said she did it as a favor to her.
I very well could be wrong, either way I think you are spot on with the falling out reason that this was leaked. Seems like one big catfight.

  25. @Derek Harvey - this was in a deposition which is not in front of a judge. It's a question & answer session by an attorney for the other side that is done under oath. It's usually taped, often videotaped and later transcribed by a court reporter who is present. Since it is under oath, all of it is admissible in court which would THEN put it in front of a judge. That's why I said yesterday it was extremely unprofessional of her - a depo is serious business.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If the deposition isn't sealed, it becomes public record once a copy gets filed with the court. I am not aware of any law requiring overtime pay, so this really is a simple contract issue. Was overtime part of the deal or not?

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Susan thanks for clearing that up---Gaga really is arrogant and uneducated...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Who the hell does she think she is? There comes a point where an employer is just taking advantage of someone - no matter how much they are paying them. Requiring someone to sleep in the same bed as you? I hope this girl gets some sort of punitive damages.

  29. B Padge, If you look at some of the comments from today and the original post on this story, many people would put up with this bs for the amount mentioned. The thirst for cash is a strong motivator for many and they are willing to sell part of their souls to get a shot at having a piece of the pie.
GaGa is out of order if even part of this is true. I'm disappointed because I think she is an amazing talent, glossed over in over the top and unnecessary schmaltz but the girl has talent.
Her drug usage, heavy schedule and being surrounded by yes folk has her out of touch with reality. Hope she comes back.

@geebz you've got to be joking. doing whatever it takes to make ends meet is not selling part of your soul. it is so difficult to find work these days, no one mentioned their willingness to take the job for "a piece of the pie" smh

  31. @Jeneral - there are federal labor laws that determine whether a person qualifies as "overtime exempt" and they jenerally involve the person supervising other employees. The contract doesn't mean anything if it violates the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  40. No agreement, no "knowing what you're getting into" trumps labor law (which includes minimum wage and overtime law) you can't agree to sign away your rights under the law. There are several categories, including being in a managerial position, that make salaried employees eligible for overtime exemption, I doubt Gaga's assistant meets any of these. All of these stories are to show she worked far more than 40 hours a week, and was not paid accordingly.

As I said yesterday, if you could make people salaried to prevent paying overtime and/or were allowed to get them to sign away their labor rights for a job, everyone at Walmart would be working under those parameters.

  41. Eureka,I have found her! Get Spielberg on the phone for me somebody and have tell E.T. To phone L. Ron Hubbard for me, because I HAVE FOUND HER!
    TOM CRUISE'S NEXT WIFE!
This willl be the perfect marriage--no one will ever raise an eyebrow at TC never having sex with Gaga (because who would?) and she could be the queen of universe for realz and help Xenu liberate us all! And best of all--while theyre married to each other they cant date any one else and they can create a little Xenu Jr. who can wear meat outfits and fly planes and give us a good "assist" when TC cant get out and about as much anymore. :-D

  42. nessa :) I've just been on one too many sites (2 total) where sources weren't cited and it turned out to just be someone coming up with their own version. This story has plenty of coverage, so it's kind of lazy to not link to the 'brand new accusation' (Even though the testimony came out in what..August?) hard to keep track without it.

  43. You'd think Lady Gaga would be able to afford scads of pillows. I'm a pillow fiend, too, and if I were pretty much someone's low-paid lackey 24x7 ($75k is a pittance to put up with this crap), I would put on headphones and steal pillows too - mostly to use as a buffer against this desperately needy and insecure celebrity.

I love that this fuckery leaked. It is delicious!

  44. I am fascinated by the legal part of this.

Meanwhile I'm wondering what GaGa wore to a mere deposition, twelve inch platforms and a veil? And did she show up in an egg?

I think she hired the girl thinking hiring a friend meant she had someone working for her who had her back. The friend thought she had a cush job, but working for GaGa means no such thing.

I'm *almost* sorry I missed the fun on the other thread yesterday. It sounds like "Person" (and what a misnomer!) was from DListed. Except for Parissucksliterally and a few people from CDAN who post at DListed, they seem to despise us over there. Meanwhile I can't even deal with their comments. Our posters are much more literate.

  50. Pugglewug, I think Gaga is a hack, too.

The bizarre outfits were pretty cool, but there was nothing to back it up. Her music isn't different than anyone else's in the pop world. Compare to someone like Bowie, who looked so different: his music was just as unique, if not more so. Gaga is just an invention created to generate maximum sales; not an artist following her heart.

What really made me dislike her was when she did some mentoring on "American Idol." She told the teenagers (paraphrased) "there's no way I could have done this at 16, I was way too weird back then." Yeah. Weird the same way Herman Munster's cousin Marilyn was hideously ugly!

  51. I think that Gaga's a great artist (or at least to some) but she sucks at accounting. I have my doubt whether she'll be in for the longterm because she's very intense. So rolling in a private jet, throwing money in clothes like she does, and paying her assitants 5* hotel suits (which is nice of her), the money is going to dry up soon I bet.

Id read a previous report where she told assistants they had to sleep with her, she obviously has dependency issues and whatnot.

'fucking hood rat' is my new favourite insult in addition to Elton John's 'fairground stripper' XD

  53. That depo just exposes Gaga for the pig she really is. She's all about money and exploiting people. Someone with her money paying a PA $75k/year seems crazy cheap to me. There's no way she'll win that wage case.
