63 year old Vera Wang is tired of all the rumors and innuendo that she is dating and left her husband for 27 year old Olympic ice skater Evan Lysacek. She says that she is just his mentor. Just because they go out every night and that every time she walks a red carpet she is with Evan does not mean they are anything more than mentor and mentee. “I’m his mentor, his true mentor. I hope for his ongoing life after sports.” I'm not sure what exactly that means. I see nothing wrong with her dating the guy. The fact that one day she was with her husband and the next with Evan and she had known Evan while married and was "mentoring" him then, should all just be innocent fun according to her. As for the reports that Evan also lives with his mentor? She won't say, but I will. He does. You know, for those late night mentoring sessions.
Ms. Wang looks pretty damn good for 63. She could eat a burger or two though.

ReplyDeleteHe may wish to get into the design business in some way. I can see him hoping to give up ice skating, and the pressure of it, as the joints go stiff from practice and injuries, and the cold doesn't help. Male ice skating outfits are often so awful, guys need more options.

Vera has been in the fashion industry for long enough that I'm sure she her gaydar is working well. If he's gay, then I'm sure she's telling the truth about just being his mentor. If he's straight, then good for her! No one would be making a big deal if a 63 year old guy were dating a 27 year old woman.

I read comments by L.A. residents discussing Evan at another site last night. It seemed understood that while Evan isn't out publicly, he doesn't make a secret of his sexuality in West Hollywood circles, so pretty sure he and Vera are BFFs.

I have to say...Vera Wang looks like she's 40 years old...tops. It's shocking everytime I see a photo of her. I pray to the Lord Almighty that I look that good at her age. She must have found the fountain of youth. Amazing.
