I don't have a TV connection and I am not a hipster. It's just that where I live I could fork out $70-$200 a month for regular TV, and I have done, only to go week after week with nothing to see on TV except occasional replays of something like Shawshank Redemption, which I already own on the cloud. Then I shut off the TV subscription. You can buy "season passes" to a lot of shows now on Amazon or iTunes, and one season costs about $20 and has no ads.
I have never seen a reality show, so most of the time I have no idea what you folks are talking about.
I was in the dentist's chair last week getting an infected tooth extracted and high on nitrous oxide, and they pushed this screen in front of me, playing SATC. I imagine it had to be the watered down, censored version of SATC, made for dentist's offices. Whoa. Did not like.

That's what I have off the top of my head! I now see that I need to get a life!
Way to many to list, some are Cheers, Frasier, Wings, Seinfeld, 30 Rock, Homicide: Life on the Street, The Wire, The Sopranos, Treme, Firefly, Psych, Arrested Development, Some many more.
The Good: Lost, Arrested Development, Downton Abbey, Mad Men, Community, Buffy, The Walking Dead, Coupling, Black Books, Game of Thrones, Girls, Little Britain, Ugly Americans, Six Feet Under, Skins, South Park, The Inbetweeners, The IT Crowd.

God, that is just shameful. And there's probably more.
The Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Firefly (curse you, Fox!), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, Supernatural, Castle, Mad Men, The Closer, Blackadder, Little Britain, Little Britain in America, Keeping Up Appearances, Battlestar Galactica (both versions), Star Trek (original series), Girls, Spartacus, Seinfeld, Golden Girls.
Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there are others.
I am old, so I have seen every episode of SNL since 1975! Really, my parents would let us nap then get back up to watch it, every week. And also, since I have no shame... Brady bunch Happy day/Laverne and Shirley Love Boat Seinfeld Family Ties Friends Melrose Place 90210 (still with it!) I wish I could say The League as I just watched 3 seasons in a week, but the 4th season isn't on demand yet (still showing on FX I think but I want to watch it from the beginning). If you have very immature humor, this show is for you (Dragon is my co-fan of The Leauge. "Child Please. Try the Veal")
I rarely watch anything without seeing every episode. I'm a completist unless it turns to crap and I give up. My current shows are too much to list. So for ended shows: X-files, Buffy, Wonderfalls (why didn't it go on?), Ab Fab, Vicar of Dibley, Lost, Pushing Daisies, Journey Man, The Prisoner (original), Sex in the City, The Office UK, Dead Like Me, My So-Called Life, 30 Rock, Samantha Who?
There are probably more and most of those ended too soon, IMO. But that's one eclectic list. I watch too much TV.
While GOT and Homeland are fantastic, the are not nearly enough Justified watchers on this list. Best acting and writing on TV now IMO. Also, Buffy, Lost, Alias, 24, Veronica Mars

ReplyDeleteCount me as one of those never missing an ep of PLL. Any Lying Game fans? My guilty pleasure fo sho.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how we are such a big, diverse group of people yet we all watch pretty much the same TV shows and all belong to the same fandoms.
@JSierra- I watch even though I want to punch Sutton in the face all the time. I love Charisma Carpenter. Can't wait for tonight's PLL.

ReplyDeleteI rarely watch anything without seeing every episode.
ReplyDeleteThere are probably more and most of those ended too soon, IMO. But that's one eclectic list. I watch too much TV.
