Blind Item #1

This American League West player is on a new team this season. All-Star caliber for sure but he is going to need to reduce his partying. The first night in town he found a strip club and has been juggling two dancers who don't know about each other.  Every night he goes out with one of them and brings them back to his hotel. Not sure what he will do if his wife decides to visit.

    1. He's not that stupid. Too many eyes on him. I'm sure he has a couple of moral clauses in his contract.

  2. Is Josh Hamilton up to his old tricks again?

  4. Yeah, I think it's Josh, too. And it breaks my heart, because I'm a huge Rangers fan, and Josh has the comeback story of all comeback stories - he was like the real life Natural when he hit all those home runs in the derby a few years back. God love him, you can see in his eyes that he is continually teetering on the edge of relapse. (Can you tell I've watched every single Rangers game in the past few years??) Homeboy has a wife and four little girls, too.

My brother got the inside poop on his last publicized relapse, I believe it was last season sometime. He was apparently drunk as Cooter Brown in a local (Arlington, TX) Bennigan's type establishment, doing the deed in the bathroom with some groupie he picked up at the bar, whilst dudes cheered him on outside the door. Klassy, and super super sad. I will be pleasantly surprised if he doesn't OD before its all over.

  5. Is it really a blind item when there is only one possible answer? I can't think of anyone other than Josh Hamilton that this would fit.

  9. Oh geez, if it's Josh Hamilton, that's VERY disappointing. I really admired how he turned his life around.

@frufra - I've heard that "drunk as Cooter Brown" line before, but who IS Cooter Brown?

    1. @Susan - I don't know. But I used to hear it all the time, coming up in South Texas. And a friend's dad owned a bar named Cooter Brown's . I always thought that was really funny.

    2. @Susan - wikipedia has several interesting theories as to where the expression originated.

    3. My grandfather told me once Cooter Brown was an actual person. He lived right on the line of the north and south. So to get out of being drafted by either side he decided to become a drunk so neither side would want him, thinking he was useless. That way he didn't have to fight against his own family.

  10. Easy. I have a feeling this happens when these biblethumping boys (And there are actually a pretty large amount of very religious baseball players) go to a real party town. I told my boyfriend it would happen for sure with Hamilton. He has just fallen off the wagon too many times to be able to handle LA and all it has to, ahem, offer.

  11. Addiction doesn't know from "stupid" though. And he'll blame it on the devil anyways.

  12. damn. hate to hear this. Been a big fan of this guy for is comeback. I appreciated that he didn't want to take meds for his pains etc. I know that ball toss thing has to play on his spirit too. Gosh Josh, I pray for you man, get it together

  14. Thanks for the Cooter Brown info, guys. That's one phrase I'm going to start using!

  15. Wow the term "....cooter brown" has it's own wiki [page? Interesting. I know more about Cooter Brown than I do about Josh. I've never heard of him...off to Google.

  16. He should have went to the Yankees.Gawd, that spotlight would've been hell.
Josh and A-rod hanging 2gether. Smh

  17. The word "cooter" cracks me up because it's a (southern?) euphemism for a female's lady parts, lol.

I don't follow sports so I don't know who this guy is so I googled him and "Josh Hamilton drunk" was auto populating the search field as I typed in his name. Lots of photos, too, of him drunk and photos of Josh and his pregnant wife. Poor Mrs. Hamilton. If he's as drunk as it appears, he's probably not using condoms. That means STD's and pregnancies.

    1. A cooter is a type of turtle. A cooder is a female's hoo-ha. Our accents make it sound like the same word.

  18. @Mango - obviously, I worry about Josh like he's my son, so I've got lots of love for the dude. But I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, people, that Mrs. Hamilton has been around for the whole debacle, through his crackhead days and the whole bit. So while I feel sorry for all of them to be sure, especially his children, his wife knows damn well what kind of man Josh is.

  19. I'm not an atheist. There is a pretty large middle ground between biblethumping fundamentalist and atheist lol.

  20. AJ Pierzinski ex White Sox all-star catcher now with Texas and a partier. Hamilton has too many people watching him like a hawk and a wife who will walk if he t's up again.

  21. Please oh please let this be Josh Hamilton. He screams douche bag and no I'm not an angry Rangers fan. He got caught in a bathroom having sex and snorting coke in a bar last spring and MLB swept the whole thing under the rug. He gave his, "I'm a christian, god has forgiven me" crap speech and everyone forgot it ever happened. I don't know why his wife stays (I know that is a bit rhetorical). *rant over*

  22. Hamilton is just a lazy guess. Look, Anaheim pays someone just to keep him on the straight and narrow: http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2012-12-16/josh-hamilton-angels-free-agency-accountability-partner-shayne-kelley

    ReplyDelete
  23. See, Just Another Girl heard it, too! Adam, I totally wish that the accountability partner would and could keep him straight. He had one in Texas, too.

  24. @Fufra it was a huge story on Twitter with reporting from the Dallas Star. It definitely happened, but being the golden boy he was, they swept that under the rug quickly. He seems to have a relapse once an off season. I get that his come back story is inspiring, but it sounds like a lot of PR and glad handling rather sincere to me. I've never been a fan of his, he just comes across as smug. And let us not forget he said he was "allergic to caffeine" from too many energy drinks last season, when he missed two weeks for unexplained eyesight issues. It's all baloney. Give me someone who walks the walk and then I will respect the come back story. I hate hypocrites. *sorry, second rant over*

I agree Hamilton is a lazy guess but who else could be big enough to warrant a BI on a Hollywood blog? Pierzinsky isn't well known enough for him to be called out here. If it was NL West there are more options.

  25. @Just Another - my brother (who is a stay at home dad with his TV tuned to the MLB Network at all times) gave me the 411 on the story as it broke. There was a sanitized version released the next day, I think, but my bro got me the real deal.

So, duh, but this action would be happening in Phoenix/Surprise, yes? I did a quick google to see if there were any incriminating candids recently, but I only found publicity stills and the like.

  26. @Adam Symonds - A lot of drug addicts have had someone hired by movie/TV companies/sports teams... yet many of those people ended up finding away to get drunk or high. Several of those people even died while under the watchful eye of the sober companion. There are numerous stories about the sober companions doing drugs and drinking with the famous person. Or the famous person sneaking out and the sober companion is non the wiser.

Sorry for the long post, I seem to do that a lot.

  27. Hamilton is $126m investment. He has all kinds of clauses in his contract that void it if he relapses. Remember that the Angels are owned by Disney. Homey isn't allowed to drive or carry money and has chaperones with home 24/7. It was the same deal in Texas the last two years. There are a half dozen or more players that were traded amongst the AL west teams this year. I like the AJ Prysinski guess - that guy likes to get loose.
