Chevy Chase And Beverly D'Angelo Are Back For More Vacation

The long in production Vacation remake starring Ed Helms as a grown up Rusty taking his family on vacation just got a boost. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are set to reprise their roles in a movie for the first time since 1997. I can't believe it has been that long since Vegas Vacation. They need to film this movie in Canada so Randy Quaid can be part of it. Of course he will need extra security to deal with the star whackers, but it would be a paycheck for the actor which is something he probably could use. I don't really have any problems with a reboot of the franchise. if you can get some good writers, then why not keep making them.

  1. They MUST get Cousin Eddie on board!

  2. Isn't Ed Helms too old to be Rusty?

  3. What ever did happen with Randy, his wife and the Starwhacker saga?

  4. Puggle, if they're updating the story to 2012 and aging everyone appropriately, then I don't think so. Ed's 39. Anthony Michael Hall, the original Rusty, is 44 and Johnny Galecki, the last Rusty, is 37.

    1. @stewmcg: hearing that Johnny Galecki is 37 makes me feel so old

  5. They'll have to film it in Canada so Randy Quaid can be in it.

  8. That movie had some hilarious stuff in it, but some really disturbing- incest- stuff. And knowing what a tool chase is, and diva dangelo takes away the shine. If it ever had any.

  11. Yay! I wish they would get Anthony Michael Hall to play Rusty and of course Cousin Eddie. I love the Vacation movies. European Vacation was one of my favorite movies as a kid.

  12. I had no clue Galecki was 37, he looks a lot younger! I thought Helms was in his mid forties.

  13. Here's a casting idea: have Jon Hamm play one of cousin Eddie's grown-up sons. Because like cousin Eddie, Jon Hamm also has a penchant for wearing too-tight pants that show his bulge :)

  15. I would see this!

While I would love to see as many original actors back as possible (even Randy), I think Ed Helms will really carry the Griswold awkwardness with heart better than Galecki could.

I would love for Juliette Lewis to reprise her role as Audrey. Ooh! And get Jane Krakowski back as Cousin Vicki! If they act fast, Carl Reiner can still get in on it, too!

  16. Reese..Love the new avi.

I can say I have never seen one of these Vacation movies. BUT sometimes you gotta let it die a natural death rather than keep resurrecting it.
