Daddy Yankee Says He Is Not Gay - Did Not Come Out - Kind Of

For the second time in as many months, singer Daddy Yankee is refuting reports he is gay. The latest report which was all over the internet yesterday said that Daddy Yankee came out while at a gay nightclub and that there are photos of him in a sex act with another man that are being circulated. What is interesting about the statement from his people is that they don't actually say he is not gay, just that he did not release a statement saying he is gay. "Once again social networks are the protagonists in spreading false news, which have been replicated by other media involving a public figure. The story that is circulating about Daddy Yankee’s homosexuality declaration is a false story written by an Internet portal as many others, dedicated to fabricate and disseminate news through social networks."

  3. What's a Daddy Yankee?

Gay or not, I want to know what kind of face cream he uses. His complexion is amazing.

  4. Forget whether or not he is gay. Someone get him an editor. "Once again social networks are the protagonists in spreading false news, which have been replicated by (blah blah blah)." Is he trying to kill this story with needless syllables?

  5. And when homo sapiens strive to form a hypothesis based on conjecture, they have extrapolated said information based on non-truths

  6. he is like one of the most famous young spanish singers around.

Its weird tho because theres websites out there that have something like a statement from a publicist staying that we shoudl respecth is privacy in this difficult time, and then he says that no one ever said that. Its all very strange.

Never heard of him either, but based on their non denial, I'm convinced this mystery person is homosexual.

  12. Daddy Yankee was big in the early 2000s when reaggaeton hit it mainstream. The guy was everywhere, I'm sure you'll remember a song or two if you google "Oye Mi Canto"

  16. Zee Nox-good find, thanks for sharing! :)

  17. And FYI, Daddy Yankee is huge in Florida, especially South Florida. He is popular in the reggeton genre which is like spanish rap, booty music, and pop music all mashed up.

I can't believe nobody has been talking about this, but I think that gross Dream guy is dating Padma now!

  21. I usually look up the person if I dont know. Just saying. Hes extremely popular within the reggaeton (sp). If you Zumba you would know who he is. Hes obviously popular enough to b featured here. Sorry for the rant, but its bothersome to see all of the "who?"

    1. Fairmaiden: I think the constant "who" is more to illustrate the point of how his team is complaining people are talking about him buy he ain't all that popular as he imagines himself to be.

    2. @Fairmaiden..I completely agree. Yes..easy to Google or go to You Tube. There are 50 million Latinos in the US, and over 500 million in Latin America who know this guy. We may not all be fans of regeton..but he is definitely famous. He has recorded with Fergie and others.

    3. @Sherry, I think the statement was put out for the Latino press who know who he is very well, if Enty chose to run with it, it is because Enty thinks he IS popular, maybe not with all but with a large group of Latinos.

  22. isn't saying the story is false saying it's not true, saying that he's not gay?

and this did it for me:

  23. Oh FFS.

Every celeb needs to adopt the George Clooney line:

Regarding the apparently extant rumors that he himself is gay, Clooney dismissed a strategy of vigorous denial that other wrongly-accused celebrities have used in the past, saying, "Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a sh*t."

I'm not gay, I know I'm not gay, but I don't have a problem with gay people, so if you called me gay, it wouldn't be an insult. Ugh, homophobia needs to go away.

  24. I don't believe this. There's no way he's gay. He has a wife and kids. :-(

  25. Never heard of him. Dont care he gay.

  26. Good one @Seachica! :)

  27. He's one of the biggest stars in the Western hemisphere, but not for Anglos. A few years back there was a scandal with him having sex with some guy who worked at a hotel, and he is just such a big loveable "guy crush" object that it's natural everyone thinks he's gay. I totally love Daddy Yankee, and have for frickin ever. The "Lovumba" remix with Don Omar is a good fairly recent track by him, and it was one of the hugest songs of the year (for the Spanishspeaking world):

  28. No only do I not know who this person is, but I couldn't care less if he were gay or straight...as long as it doesn't affect my life.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, ships ahoy. I always thought he was gay. Huh. Also, Padma isn't as classy as some of you think. Or rather, she portrays herself. She was a bit of a hustler, FWIW, before she latched onto Rushdie. Who, is also a hustler.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I had to laugh when Rushdie threatened to kill a reporter who said something bad about Padma. I mean, death threats to writers? Really, Fishface?

    ReplyDelete

    1. @Barton, is that the same Rushdie who has a "fatwa" or death sentence on his head from the ayatollahs in Iran?? How ironic....

  32. Guess he wanted someone to "dale mas gasolina" in his tanque hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  33. I knew Gasoline had a double meaning

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, up until just now, I had never heard of this guy, so...success?

    ReplyDelete
  35. A él le gusta la gasolina.

Said this, I don't think he is gay. The statement doesn't say anything because nobody who thinks he is would believe it if he said otherwise.

The only thing I could agree with the opinion of his gayness is that he is South American, where gay lobby is inexistent (remember the liberal Evo Morales from Bolivia saying that Europeans are inferior to them because eating chicken makes someone bald and "desviado", being "desviado" a slur for gays or Cuban communist Fidel Castro's favourite insult, "mariconsón", that means something like big f*g).

    1. @YoMismo, Daddy Yankee is not South American, he's from Puerto Rico.

  36. That statement practically confirms that he's gay. If he weren't, the statement would have said something closer to, "No, contrary to recent rumor, DY is not gay." and maybe added something like, "But he respects all people -- regardless of their sexuality." to not make it sound so overly defensive as to the point of offending his gay fans.

    ReplyDelete
  37. He's from the Bronx and YES he is precious and gay.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ugh, tried to read that statement and my eyes glazed over. Simple is better. More words do not make statements more believable.
(couldn't care less about the gay thing)

  39. Daddy Yankee sounds like a sex act where you paddle somebody with a book and a torch. Well, maybe not paddle with a torch, that would just be silly. Or maybe you do it with a person that has spiky hair, while yelling "who's yo' daddy!"

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Zeeky, really laughing out loud!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. He's the guy that did "Gasolina" years ago.

TBH, I prefer Don Omar over Daddy Yankee. and I always thought Daddy Yankee was bicurious if not actually gay.
