Lindsay Lohan On Letterman

Lindsay Lohan was on David Letterman last night for 14 fun filled minutes. I won't bore you with the entire 14 minutes and will just say that Letterman did grill her about everything and made Lindsay cry. She also said she was shocked at the questions he asked and that it was not part of the pre-interview. She might have walked out if they were part of the pre-interview. Lindsay calls rehab a blessing. Probably because it is better than jail in her mind although the rehab facility she is going to does not allow tobacco so she will probably find a way to leave after a few days.

  1. Is it really necessary to have a Blohan post every day? Just wondering if we could get one day without hearing about this trainwreck.

    3. May 2nd is her rehab day? Well happy birthday to me! I get a pedicure and we can stop hearing about her for 20 seconds.

  2. While obviously uncomfortable she did a pretty good job keeping her cool there. I bet it wasn't pretty afterwards though. And come onnnnn May 2nd!

  3. She was probably crying from fear of no ass to ass in rehab. She should have chosen prison.

  6. I wish the camera would have panned to show Dina's reaction to him asking those questions; that would have been priceless.

I dont like lindsay, but Letterman is a dick in all of his interviews so...

  8. Does she seriously think no one will ask her questions?! Let's see. In the roughly last 2 weeks: she pleaded no contest to her charges/violations whatchamacallit and was sentenced. She's gone here and there, with photos of her hanging out underneath a table at a club in Brazil. Her...ahem...friend was just busted with drugs. Good grief, she's delusional!

    Come on, May 2nd!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Why was she shocked at the questions? Bitch is not promoting anything except maybe...rehab?
And I have a feeling that just as many stories will be coming out of rehab.

    2. The Canyons? I could be wrong, but I don't think they got a distribution deal, so that shitfest isn't coming out either

  10. Letterman was saying what needed to be said TO HER FACE.
Watch the video all the way through; he's being a 'dick', by saying things like 'This upcoming rehab could save your life. And career'???

Seriously, he talked to her like a father; you can tell he's genuinely concerned.

  11. Well, seeing as every gossip blogger on the net is talking about this, I can see why Enty did a post and is curious to see what the CDaN community has to say. Were her tears real or crocodile? Is she in complete denial or are cracks starting to show? Who was she looking at off stage? Was it Dina?

I agree: time for no Lohan posts will be after May 2. Til then, keep the popcorn poppin'.

  16. Text snippets for those at work. "What are you, a tabloid now?" Funny!

I doubt for a second we'll get Lohan-free May. She'll break out, or hit on the "guards" at her "lock-down" rehab, or get caught snorting powdered sugar, or tweet that she's pg for reals this time. Girlfriend has to have to attention.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks Libby :) I'm normally a lurker, but just had to chime in on Lilo. I thought Dave showed enough gruffness and concern; it was really rather touching that he didn't just hang her out to dry (must have been tempting, though). And of course, the commentary here is spot on!

  18. does anyone remember when tara reid had her spiral she was always drunk and looked like shit. now shes functioning sort of when shes not on a yacht. and she has done a movie or two. i really hope that this is what happens to lindsey. :(

  19. Mornings already suck on their own... why start each one with a LiLo post?

  20. I'm not a fan of LL or her behavior, but I thought she handled what seemed to be an ambush quite well.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Second only to Jon Stewart calling Obama on his horrific debate against Romney, this was one of the best interviews that I've ever seen!

Letterman is rough - but he was great. He did ask the tough questions and raised some tough things to hear "everyone is rooting against you." But it really felt like he was legitimately trying to help Lindsay BY stating the hard facts AS WELL AS WHAT COULD BE A POTENTIALLY POSITIVE OUTCOME from Rehab!

As for Lindsay, I never thought I'd say this without referring to her "friends" BUT SHE HELD HER OWN. She's actually quite funny and can work on the fly. She dodged everything but threw in a few zingers. She was smart enough to point out that rehab / jail is not a joke (despite the fact that we know what she really thinks) - she was absolutely fine.

Now the mean part - how delusional was she to throw Tina Fey in there? She's so low at this point that Tina wouldn't even bother using her for a punch line... But it was nice to see a REAL INTERVIEW.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tara Reid is still a mess, she just doesn't get publicity for it anymore.

This interview was incredibly awkward. I don't understand why there was applause when Blohan mentioned rehab being a positive thing. If she actually took this shit seriously, she would have voluntarily went. Choosing between jail and rehab is no choice at all. Especially when the rehab is a glorified spa.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree, Dave was not trying to be a dick just honest. She needs to hear the truth and those questions needed to be asked! It's obvious nobody in her life is doing this!

    ReplyDelete
  24. The only reason lohan looked so composed is because her face was frozen into the expression. It is so sad that someone in her 20's feels the need to Botox and inject the hell out of her face...

I suppose it's nothing compared to the other abuses she has inflicted upon herself, but still... Sad.

  25. Dave should have asked her about that Oscar she's planning on winning in 2016. She said she was going to win one in five years - two years ago. That now leaves just three years. Plus, for a movie to be Oscar eligible it has to be playing in either New York or Los Angeles movie theaters by the end of 2015. Since most movies take a year to make that means Lindsay will have to be cast in this Oscar winning role in 2014. Seeing as how she will be spending three months out of commission this year I do not see any of that happening.

Too bad, Lindsay. There's always 2017.

  26. Dave actually mentions this rehab could prevent her from hurting herself...OR SOMEONE ELSE. It's early on, I swear he said it.

  28. When did they find a rehab location for her?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not a fan, but she did seem genuinely surprised that someone could be so firm and yet caring with her. That is what she and every other addict needs. No yes men, no hangers-on, no parents foaming at the mouth to exploit her. Just someone to basically shake her awake and say wtf are you doing with your life?

  34. So no one has posted about her bouncy/sagging boobs yet. As she walked across the stage, her boobs were once again jiggling. Get a bra!

  35. I can't stand LL--her refusal to take ANY responsibility for her actions is so tiresome. But I found Dave to be a complete asshat during this interview. He didn't seem concerned or caring at all--I found him to be patronizing. The girl was obviously uncomfortable and Dave was a little too relentless. I may despise Lilo, but Dave went too far.

    ReplyDelete

    @amber I don't see them either.

I like Dave he's very dry. He had a good demeanor with Lohag. Glad he asked her the questions but don't really understand why she was on. Isn't her Scary Movie part nothing more than a cameo?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Just watched the full interview - it's really good. Thanks for posting it, VIP. I don't think he's an asshole at all in it and she does hold her own quite nicely. You can see how she charms people and always gets her way. It was refreshing to see that Dave didn't give it to her. Not sure about the tears being real or not, BUT there seems to be a moment midway through when there is genuine emotion that briefly crosses her face.

    ReplyDelete
  38. SusanB, agreed, lol. I thought she handled it well and with real tears.

Amber, yes!! Thought I was having a Timothy Leary flashback:)

  39. katydid---It's great publicity for a shitty movie, so my guess is the producers forced her to go through with it, in exchange for not reporting her behavior...Didn't she technically steal...I mean, commit MORE probation violations while on set, technically?

They might have had her ass in a sling to get her to follow through with promos for once (it seems). After SM5's opening weekend, surely word-of-mouth will kill the box office for this tripe.

  40. I gotta go for the day, all. MWAH!

  41. Who the hell is letterman to make lilo cry? Whats the point? Its just plain rude. Sure shes a trainwreck, but is it his job to to push it? Is he jerry springer now?

    ReplyDelete
  42. That was a pretty amazing interview. Good on Dave for going off-script and asking the questions people wanted to hear, regardless of what was 'agreed upon.' Had he not gone there, we'd be talking about what a wuss he was in pulling his punches with her. You can see how used see is to the hands-off treatment when he refuses to let it go and gives her rather good, fatherly advice about getting her friggin act together.

The gals at Jezebel were all boo-hooing for her and calling this a "dick move." Another reason I rarely venture over there, unless I'm bored and run out of more interesting blogs to read.

    ReplyDelete
  43. First, I love Dave so I'm biased, but I think this was a good combo of tough love, concern, and humor. I also thought it seemed like the tears were a reaction from Dave's more heartfelt comments. Although he was tough, she seemed touched by his concern. Hoping she's not a lost cause, but not holding my breath.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @auntliddy - She got a little teary eyed because he said something nice to her about being able to show enough "spine and poise" to talk to him. She wasn't full on crying, like Enty makes it sound.

  47. She held her own cause that would been me shit lol .

Hope he does Amanda Bynes Next

  48. I wish he would have asked her what she did to her face.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I thought it was decent----she held her own. She was forced to be on there to promote Scary Movie 15. I felt for her when she cried. But the problem was she has so much botox in her face, the only way to tell she was emotional was actual tears streaming down her eyes. How the hell does she plan "a comeback" as an actress when she can not show emotion. I did find it kinda disturbing they kept showing her as a child----not fair on Lettermans behalf....

  50. Blah, blah. blah.......

  51. @parissucks, early on in his talk show career he had boxing promoter Don King on his old NBC post Johnny Carson show. Don King was more famous for his hair that stood straight up twice as high as the length of his head than for his boxing career. Once you saw his hair you never forgot it. But nobody had ever come straight out & asked about it. The first thing Dave asks when King sits down is "So Don. What's the deal with your hair?" King's jaw hit the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  52. If he wouldn't have asked he would have been blasted. He HAD to say something and I think he did a really nice job with a sensitive subject. She held her own too. I just couldn't get past how horrible she looked; that face is messed up.

    ReplyDelete
  53. She is such an entitled full-of-it creep.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Is this where I start a Ben Folds conversation, Libby?

    ReplyDelete
  55. It is so sad, she was so pretty at one time. I for one am glad Dave made her "cry"...she is way overdue for putting those big girl panties on.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Holy fuck ... her FACE.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Liddy - Lindsay teared up when Dave told her she displayed strength for coming on the show after all the jokes he's said about her. He wasn't mean to her at all.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I kept trying to figure out who she looked like and then it came to me...Rose McGowan. They must have the same surgeon.

I think parts (small parts) on her end might have been as close to truth as she is capable. But one of the first things I noticed was when Dave asked her about rehab and she began her answer "to be honest..." which usually a clear sign of deception to follow.

Oh, and RfaD is on my top 5 of fav movies ever. Not for the fainthearted, but so, so good (and, yeah...if you just want the ass to ass watch the youtube, but the movie is so worth viewing).

  59. Letterman tries to increase his ratings by scolding a zombie.
And the villagers rejoice because ... someone else is being scolded. No, it's not going to make a bit of difference in the life of Lohan. No, it's not going to increase Letterman's ratings. Nothing comes of this except we get to watch someone else being ambushed and insulted. Fabulous.

    1. Agreed. If Dave were so concerned, express it privately off camera. Not in a studio with an audience.

As much as I detest Lindsay, she is an addict. And addiction is a disease. A deeply personal one. Its hard for addicts to admit to themselves that they have a real problem, let alone a studio audience and millions of viewers at home. I think that's why this interview makes me so uncomfortable.

  62. I'm late to the party but...did anyone catch that the intro music the band riffed when she walked out was the chorus to Cracker's song Low? The lyrics are...

    I'll be with you girl
    Like being low
hey hey hey like being stoned

LL is probably too young to know that song but the reference wasn't lost on me. I got a good chuckle from it.

  63. I thought Dave did a brilliant job--he asked the questions everyone wants to have asked--and yet he seemed genuinely concerned about her as a person.

I give her points for taking it and staying through it and having a bit of humor about herself.

Saw pictures of the place she's doing her rehab--it looks like a resort. If she can stay out of trouble it might be a nice way to clean her slate.

  64. I actually had a dream that I got into a fight with Lilo last night. She showed up at my high school reunion and thought I was talking shit about her dad (??? dafuq) so she jumped over a table and attacked me. Then I beat her up. It was weird, man.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I watched the whole thing and it really bummed me out. I know she's done awful things but she's also a human being who is clearly in hell. I thought you could really read a lot of her in this interview. She's not really here anymore. Her face when she was saying her lines about being healthy, etc. made me realize how bad it is. I think she has given up and doesn't see a way out of this hole she's in and for the first time in years I felt sorry for her. I think she will die soon.
