Richie Sambora Pulls Out Of Bon Jovi Tour

For about the next month, or as long as a 30 day stint in rehab would be, Richie Sambora has pulled out of the remaining dates of the Bon Jovi tour. In a statement on the band's website they say that Richie is not playing because of "personal issues." I suppose he could be just wanting to spend some time with his family, but the more likely explanation is that Richie, who has had issues with substance abuse in the past is probably seeking treatment for those issues. he did not join the band for their tour stop in Edmonton last night.

  4. They were in Calgary, not Edmonton, last night. They made an announcement right before the show that because Sambora bailed they were donating $100,000 to the homeless shelters in the city.

  10. FYI, I was watching TMZ one night and Mark Cuban (owner of Dallas Mavericks) was filling for Harvey Levin. He told a story about hiring Bon jovi for his anniversary or wife's birthday (can't remember). Anyway, he said Richie wasn't there and it saved him "$200,00".

    Just sayin'.

Good luck to Richie. Addiction is hard to beat especially when you still have the funds to continue.

@Sugar - I don't usually laugh out loud when I am alone. You just slayed me. Took me a second to figure out it was the headline you were discussing.

  13. He's such an integral part of the band. If I were a Dan, I'd want to wait until he could perform with them.

I hope he conquers his demons. It's a lifelong battle. And anyone who says something else got them hooked on anything is full of it. Unless you were forced at gunpoint (Jeremy or the other London, looking at you), they're not taking responsibility for their choices.

  15. as much as i love bon jovi he always ends up in rehab when they tour, maybe it's time he realize this and i hate to say it because i love richie but maybe he needs to quit the band for his health.

  16. I love Bon Jovi and I hope for Richie's sake he gets it together this time.

I believe it was Ally Sheedy who said he got her hooked on drugs, and I know personal choice and all that, but really a young girl and a Rock God, I am not sure too many impressionable young girls would say no....

  18. My uncle was big on the NJ band scene. When he died last year (very young, brain tumor), my other uncle chatted with some guy high up in the Bon Jovi machine (a behind-the-scenes-guy). I recognized the name, but he's not really famous-famous.

Anyway, FWIW, my uncle said that the Bon Jovi guy told him that Jon is the biggest diva pain in the ass and everyone around him (including bandmates) can't stand him. So this is third hand, so whatever--but it's gossip and this is a gossip Web site...!
