Today's Blind Items - Kindness

I thought for today, that for the big item that I would do a kindness. It is not really that big, but I think it shows someone in a light that we all need right now. There is an actress out there who is the definition of B list. Never really the full out star of anything, she is the second billed who always seems to make a splash. She is gorgeous. She is a great actress who can move between drama and comedy with ease. She is mostly television and works a lot. She has had the good fortune to be on one very hit show and also another which has never really been a hit, but been on the air awhile.

Our actress does a little bit of everything. Need her at a charity event? She is there. No matter how big or small, she is there. Need to use her name to raise money for a good cause but are afraid she will charge a lot or demand a lot. Nope. She is always willing to do so for free. She spends far more time doing charity work than she even does having free time. Between her work schedule and her charity efforts, she does not really have time for anything else but she likes it that way. She believes in her community. She is at food banks and donating to them. She has the wardrobe people donate all the stuff they can to clothing drives. She helps out at homeless centers and community centers. I could list thing after thing that this actress does that would make us all feel ashamed. She does it all and never says no. She never asks for anything in return. She knows she makes a very very good living and knows that she has the ability to help by using her name or just being there as much as she can. She has sacrificed a personal life because she feels helping is more important.

  3. don't know but this makes me happy....but she needs a personal life..

  4. I thought Allison Hannigan from Buffy and HIMYM but I am thinking it may be someone without a family.

  5. I really really want this to be Judy Greer for some reason.

With Arrested Development and Archer as the shows.

  6. I think Alison Brie fits nicely. This blind felt much-needed today. Thanks.

  7. Reveal, please! I need a new hero!

  8. Rashida Jones. Definitely doesn't need the money she makes due to family. Was on The Office, now Parks. She's sometimes in movies, but not as much as she is associated with TV. Enty loves her. We all know she's a do-gooder, but she doesn't really ever talk about it. What a real celebrity should be. :)

  9. Jeebus,..How do you guys come up with these? I could never have guessed that!

  10. Need. More. Clues. We want to guess this one right. I hope it's Rashida.

  11. Wendy Malick. I work in TV (as do most of my friends) and she has exactly this reputation ... the nicest, most giving person in show business. Spends every spare moment working for charities, and never accepts any recognition for it.

  12. OOH, Wendie Malick is a great guess, and a great lady, but I don't think it's her. My understanding is that her husband is very involved with her on her charity projects, so the clue about sacrificing her personal life doesn't fit.

  13. Jennifer love Hewitt.

  14. I would say Rashida as well. Re: Alison Brie...I had no idea who she was so I looked her up. I didn't see anything in the list that I would call "drama". Scream4? lol

    1. I never recognize Alison Brie. I just watched Scream 4 for the 2nd time this weekend & I didn't even know she was in it.

If this is ever revealed whoever it is might get a lifetime pass from me.

    2. She plays Pete Campbell's wife on Mad Men.

  15. Alison Brie is on Community (comedy) and Mad Men (drama).

  16. Thank you ENTY, we all really needed something like this today.

  17. I think this is someone older, single, and childless. Alison Brie is only 30. She's hardly someone who's "sacrificed a personal life." Also, she was fine on Mad Men, but I also don't consider her to have had the chance to prove herself to be a "great actress."

Both these phrases hint at age.

  18. I like the Rashida guess.

    ReplyDelete
  19. No clue but I'm glad that we can come up with a few names, there's still good people in Hollywood after all

    ReplyDelete
  20. Given that community appears twice in the clue, it does suggest Alison, but aren't Mad Men and Community both hits?

    ReplyDelete
  21. She believes in her 'community.' --Alison Brie, from Community.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agree with the Kaley guess...

    ReplyDelete
  23. I was thinking Rashida Jones for this one.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lauren Graham came to mind, but she was the 'full out star' (one of two) on Gilmore Girls....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Definitely Rashida Jones.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Renee Z has done work with the GREAT Initiative (traveling to Liberia, etc), and does very well with both drama and comedy, but don't I think she fits the ranking and she certainly hasn't sacrificed a personal life.... :)

  27. Read this as Alison Brie the whole way

    ReplyDelete
  28. I was thinking Rashida Jones for this. I absolutely adore her!

  29. The English chick who was on Frazier and is on a show now. I don't remember her name but when she was on Frazier I thought she was gorgeous.

  30. Alison Brie does an incredible acting job on Mad Men. She doesn't have a lot of scenes, but she *owns* every one of them. I'd love it if this were her.

    ReplyDelete
  31. This can only be Alison Brie. Not only have we always known she does this, Enty says "moves between drama and comedy with ease", and I have not ever seen Rashida in anything even remotely that resembles drama. She's mostly in comedies and she's good, but Alison does both Mad Men and Community and that is most definitely an example of a drama show and a comedy. Not to be nit-picky lol but there seems to be two popular guesses and I really love Alison!!

Also - don't take this the wrong way fellow CDAN:ers, cause' Judy Greer is great but gorgeous? I don't know. She's always cast as that cute girl with a big personality, but she's really not that cute. It's about her personality really, so she makes her appearance work for her!

    1. I thought the same thing about Judy Greer & then I saw her at a Hollywood party & she is absolutely gorgeous in person. Her skin is amazing. She was so regal & sophisticated. I don't know why she comes across as that on film because in person she is stunning.

    3. At ivs and urban rosebud, I think it has to do with the roles she plays, she's just as pretty as drew Barrymore I'd say, but Judy never gets leadin roles. With leaving roles comes a retain cache, and I think prob better hair and makeup :) same with rashida and Tina fey, they don't get hottest ever number one fhm sexpot, but I think it's because they don't go after that image.
After all that I'm a plus one for Brie, esp with the community reference in the clue.

  32. What about Amy Yasbeck. She was in a movie called "Splash 2," is lovely, and does comedy and drama. I don't know about her charity work, though.

  33. who the hell is allison brie?

    ReplyDelete
  34. No, there is another reason why I should be in love with Alison Brie? Her comic timing, her rapping ability, her beauty and her natural assets weren't enough already? She's also a saint? She really is too too adorable in every way. I was watching a Youtube interview with her yesterday & she is hilarious:

    Alison Brie on Speakeasy

  35. I thought Kristin Bauer van Straten, but guess it is not her because she is not known that much outside the True Blood fandom. But she does SO MUCH for charity (especially for animals), wish Enty had a kindness blind about her.

    ReplyDelete
  36. What about Elisha Cuthbert?

    Shes in the daily photos
    She's gorgeous
    Was on 24 (Drama)
    Now on Happy Endings (Comedy)

    1. ^^^ Who I was thinking of, too!

  37. Didn't Enty reveal Alison Brie in a past kindness blind too?

    ReplyDelete
  38. How about Maggie Grace? Lost as the hit show and Californication for the second.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Rashida was in The Social Network which was a drama.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jane Krakowski
    Hit: Ally McBeal
Never Really been a hit: 30 Rock

    ReplyDelete
  41. Uh 30 Rock won loads of Emmys. I would classify that as a hit.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have no idea who Allison Brie is, so I don't think it's her. I'd know her if she was a B list.

Lisa Kudrow is a better guess.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Allison Brie. "Community" being the tell in the BI.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Lauren Graham--gorgeous, can do comedy and drama. Big hit Gilmore Girls, other show Parenthood. I SO want this to be her!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kate Walsh... Greys and private practice

    ReplyDelete
  46. Easy. Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She talks about it when she guested on Curb. Still on that show you forgot about.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's refreshing to read about someone who doesn't only think of "what will I get out of it?"

    ReplyDelete
  48. Alison Brie was also in 5 Year Engagement as Emily Blunt's younger sister.
If it's her, I think it's wonderful. I've had two incredibly awful days, so reading this helped..a little bit anyway.

  49. Just wanted to say a few things.

One: While she does a ton of great stuff, this isn't Alison Brie. She has a personal life, she sings in a band with two of her friends. Again, she does charity work, she's an awesome person, but if Enty is being accurate with the "no personal life" then it's someone else.

Two: I think all of you would be surprised just how often this stuff happens in Hollywood. I know you guys read a ton of bad stuff about the people in show biz, but realize that stories about someone being nice don't sell magazines. You'll see a story here or there, but most of the time it's the bad stuff. In the comments of another story I said that you are all only hearing about 15 percent of the business... but most of the people in this business are really nice and down to Earth. We know how lucky we are to do this for a living, and we know that so many would kill to be able to make movies or TV.

We also know that we can do good by putting our names on something. I know it's popular to rag on celebs that get political, but like everyone else on Earth we have things that we are passionate about. The reality is that some times a charity needs a celebrity attached to raise money. It's also a reality that many celebrities get to talk with powerful people, powerful businessmen, and powerful politicians. They are the ones with deep pockets that can fund a charity. Yes many in this business have millions of dollars, but finding the cure for cancer is going to take a lot more than 20 million bucks. That's why so many celebs are out in public talking about causes they believe in.

As for politics, we don't "shut up" for one very simple reason... and I know how horrible this is going to sound, but it's the truth... we pay more taxes in a couple of years than most people will pay in their lifetime. We care about how our money is being spent, so of course we're going to be out campaigning for someone that we think is going to use our money for causes we believe in. But, like anyone, we can think we're supporting a good candidate only to find out they're a sleaze ball that's abusing their power and hurting our state, country, or the planet.

Dang it... I type way to freaking fast, so I keep posting these "stream of consciousness" comments. Sorry, I think I'm quickly becoming addicted to this site.

  50. I thought both Alison Brie and Rashida for this one, but Alison fits better. As others have stated, she is on Mad Men (a hit drama) and Community (a critically-acclaimed but always struggling comedy). Plus she's absolutely stunning and has been revealed in a kindness blind before. The only thing that doesn't fit would be her sacrificing a personal life, as she is dating Dave Franco, is in a band, etc.
Whoever this is, though, deserves every accolade in existence. The world needs more people like this!
