Four Days Until Angelina Jolie Shows Herself

On June 2nd, Angelina Jolie will make her first public appearance since her big announcement about her double mastectomy. She will be on hand for the premiere of Brad Pitt's new movie World War Z which is expected to compete for title of biggest flop in movie history. Tracking sucks for this movie. No one likes it. The premiere is set for London and Muse will be playing and Angelina will be there. I think this would be a great day for Jennifer Aniston to get married or announce she is pregnant or has found a cure for cancer which she did because she wanted to help Angelina.

  1. It is not his first flop nor will it be his last.

  2. His second flop in less than a year's time (Killing Them Softly). Third if you count his Chanel ad.

    1. Cost 15 to make made 35 worldwide. Not a hit but not a bomb.

  3. Holy shet @Freya, that Chanel ad made me NOT want to buy it. Whoever okay'd that probably got the boot.

  6. But it IS the first flop for his production company, no? Or at least, the first GIGANTIC flop?

  7. Why can't we discuss what a press/fame whore he is?!

We always discuss how Jenn is somehow always playing up to the press this love triangle.

Let's discuss this idiot and how he brought up her name in his recent interview.

I hate how it always come across that the women are fighting but this man is fueling it!

Please for the love of mankind, let this Triangle DIE!!!

  9. Let's discuss how her (Jennifer's) name never came up in the newest interview. Only those with an irrational hatred of Brad and Angelina push that falsehood. The only person bringing up the unholy trinity is Chelsea Handler.. Jennifers friend...uhmmmmm. I saw the previews of WWZ and it looks like it will at the very least grab men's attention for it's ac

    1. What I don't get while watching trailers for that movie is WHY ARE THE ZOMBIES SO FAST?? This makes me so extremely paranoid.

I was driving to work today and saw a wooden sign on a fence that said "Repent or Perish. The zombies Will come." It was hand painted on a sheet of particle board. Creepy and cool at the same time. I live in a rural area..prob a religious nutcase.

    3. I totally want to see it. Not hiding it all. I'll probably force my 17-year old nephew to go with me.

The zombies are as fast (or slow) as the person was before they died.

Not that I read anything about it or anything. *g*

  12. I don't hate Brad or Angelina, I actually really like Angelia, Brad, truly I could do without. But let's be real, so you are correct, he didn't actually "say" her name, but specifically brought up his time of life when he was with her. Like why? Why bring up a part of your life from 10 years ago, lets stick to the present and why you are happy. Its a passive aggressive dig and still fueling the fire of the threesome.

My main point is that both Angelina and Jennifer are getting constantly shit on for keeping the threesome alive, though Brad gets a pass. It's this whole woman against woman part of this story that I hate.

So with that... Saw It Off Jane! : )

    1. @Jessi,

ITA on the woman vs woman aspect of this ongoing story. The whole "homewrecker" thing, Brad left Jen for a better thing, blah blah blah. Brad's worst sin? He's a bland, boring pothead. AJ is a scheming attention ho and JA is just an attention ho, but Brad is just... boring and dumb.

  13. Flop or not I want to see it. Screw the critics; they don't dictate to me which movies I should see or would like.

  14. Biggest flop ever? Worse than Gigi? Worse than Glitter? Worse than 1941? Sheez, if its worse than all that...wow, just big f'ing wow!

    2. If you're talking about the cost versus ticket sales, it will be the biggest flop. So far WWZ has a production cost of $400 million (they re-wrote and re-shot the last 20 minutes just to make it watchable). Publicity for a major tent pole movie is generally $100 million (or more). So you're looking at a total negative cost of at least a half a billion dollars. To be profitable, a movie needs to do at least twice the negative cost. And since WWZ is one of three "after the world apocalypse" movies this summer, there's no way it's making $1 billion worldwide. Since "John Carter" is the most recent bomb (with a $200 million write-down for Disney), WWZ is looking to be an even bigger disaster.

    3. Jack, and yet, flop or no flop, they are all still amazingly wealthy. Strange, n'est pas?

  15. @Lotta I'm still trying to understand what he meant. It's like he started off and then lost his train of thought.

  16. Jessi. You missed Brad's 'main point' in that article. But I kind of doubt you read it. He was discussing HIS evolution as a person. How he went from pothead (ONLY blames himself) to activist.

He owns his own story, and he can tell it. Maybe you should write Brad and tell him it hurts YOUR feelings when he says he wasn't happy with HIS ex-wife, because Jen actually knows ALL THIS ALREADY, and does NOT need you (random internet stranger) to flip out every time Brad speaks, to protect 'her' (your) wittle fewwings in this matter.

GET OVER IT. Isn't that what Jen fans love to boast--How Jen is 'so over it'?! If that's so true, I wish her fans would follow her lead.

    back to regular programming.

  17. Lets be honest here gang, all 3 of them love the attention this gives them. They prolly just roll their eyes and think, oh well, more press, keeps me in the eye of the public.

My oldest loved World War Z, and he really wants to see it. And I'm up for any zombie movie. Don't know if we will go see it, or wait for it to come to netflix.

I still don't get the hate Angie is getting, it is quite apparent she has a horrible strong line of cancer in her family. I can't hate on her for being proactive.

2 very scary things to deal with is 1) hearing you have cancer, (not saying she had it) and 2) I can't leave my babies.

My wish for them are, Jen, continued good hair, Angie, lots of health! and Brad.. dude take a friggen shower now and then, and just say NO! if Chanel comes a knocking!

  18. Seriously Libby?!?!!? Calm the fuck down! I don't recall saying anywhere that I had hurt feelings or that I am a Jen Fan, but apparently it struck a cord with you that I am not a fan of Brad's. Seriously? You can be such a bitch for no reason and you wonder why you have haters!!!

  19. I should correct myself, and say it is NO WONDER you have haters! I am sure you don't wonder.

  27. Just HAD to sign in for the first time ever to say thank you to libby... I like Brad Pitt (not to mention Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie) insofar as we can ever really "know" these people enough to judge one way or another. It's just unfortunate when people speak about their lives and their growth and it gets judged. Maybe none of them should share anything.

  28. I'm betting "The Lone Ranger" ends up being a bigger flop. That one cost a boatload too. We shall see.

"Killing Them Softly" made no $$, but was a very good movie. Actors can take safe projects and crank out stuff like "Fast & Furious" & "Transformers" (in which case people think they have box office clout when it's really just the built-in franchise) -or- they can do interesting stuff. I'm not suggesting "WWZ" is interesting, as I've not seen it. But I'd rather Pitt & Clooney (etc...) did different projects instead of cranking out generic, by-the-numbers HWood turds. Clooney's "The American" was another excellent movie. Most mainstream moviegoers hated it because they like dumb shit.

Nobody opens movies anymore. Channing Tatum is probably the surest bet right now, but that's just because his career is hot. That'll fade. Sandler used to be able to guarantee big openings, but even fans of his movies got tired of how stupid the movies got ("Jack & Jill" -- "My Stupid Son"). Denzel used to be a sure bet b/c he had racial crossover appeal. He's still very popular, but it still has to be a certain type of movie for it to blow up ("Flight" & "Safe House" did well, but neither were smash hits). Stars don't open movies anymore. Built-in franchises do (best-selling books, popular comics, etc...). Maybe even concepts do. Actors don't.

This isn't the 90's. Stardom has been diluted by reality TV and there are far more entertainment options than there were 15 years ago. Gone are the days where putting Tom Hanks in your movie guaranteed a $20 million opening (which was his $$ quote for being in the movie to begin with).

    1. I keep hearing people say that The Lone Ranger is going to flop. But Johnny is huge in foreign countries. His last two Disney movies, POTC: On Stranger Tides and Alice in Wonderland, both took in over $1 billion. (Please don't mention Dark Shadows as that wasn't a Disney film and the studio didn't have a clue how to market it.) Also, films with lots of action and big effects are big in foreign countries, which explains why garbage like the last Transformers movie made over $1 billion. The 20 minute segment of TLR that was shown at CinemaCon got an extremely positive reception, and I think most of the negativity about TLR is because people love to see Disney fail.

  30. That movie is crap! It's nothing like the book, which I loved. I'm going to see it though because I got free movie tickets for Christmas. The movie is going to flop because there's no way it can make back all the money it spent making it unless everyone goes to see it three times at least.

  31. i thought world war z is getting good critical reviews after the secret NJ showing....

i love brad and ange. but he does come off like a chameleon in his relationships. he adopts the persona of the person he is with.

and i liked the chanel ad...

I enjoyed reading your insight, thank you for posting! How do you feel about Will Smith being a box office draw, do you think he still has "it"?

I'm really curious as to how much his next movie is going to do it's opening weekend. Will usually brings the tickets. But I am noticing as you said, big names are not selling as they used to.

  34. I want to see Killing Them Softly only because it was filmed in New Orleans. Moneyball didn't appeal to me, but my husband liked it, he's a baseball fan. He'll like World War Z too, because zombie movies are his favorite genre.

I suspect Brad keeps that shit stirred for attention. Maybe he thinks it makes Angelina jealous. I bet she's just amused. I'd like to believe she beats him, he deserves it for that damn Chanel commercial.

    ReplyDelete
  35. First of all, NOBODY hates Libby except for irrational weirdos. 'Kay? Second of all, World War Z has reportedly impressed its preview audiences. I'm not seeing it because it's not my thing, but I think it will do fine generally. Oh, and third, Killing Them Softly was a great movie. I really did not understand why more people didn't see it.

  36. Soo, no intention to offend because I do not think Cancer is a matter to be taken lightly. My cousin just had a double mastectomy because she had no choice. She definitely has Cancer. Will this whole Angelina got a double mastectomy be a reason to hide plastic surgery? Just a thought and I was wondering if it crossed anyone else's mind.

  37. Sorry to have such negative thoughts about someone, but this is Hollywood and I tend to think the worst.

  38. On Lipstick Alley there is a poster saying she had heard Brad made Angelina go public with her preventive surgery news to drum up sympathetic press/ general press attention towards him. She apparently had no desire to go public at all. Whether if it's true or not, who knows. Will say Brad has forever been a ridiculously inflated ball of hype.

He is essentially famous and wealthy because of his beauty and who he dates. If he were a woman he would be royally slagged off.

I totally believe Pitt pushed AJ into talking about her condition. He needs all the press he can get for this film.
