Randy Jackson got to say goodbye. Nicki Minaj got to say goodbye. Mariah Carey probably won't say anything, but will let Nick Cannon come up with some reason why Mariah can't possibly return to Idol next season even though her enemy Nicki is already leaving. I think the quote will have something to do with disappointing her fans if she stays. She could go on a tour, but Mariah does not do tours. The only person who is not going gentle into that good night appears to be Keith Urban who is LOVING being away from Nicole Kidman so much. She is off doing her thing and he gets to be seen on national television every week and once in awhile they join up and hit a red carpet where Nicole does her pretending to be crazy in love bit and showing that she has not forgotten about her kids.
I thought he was good on Idol, the few times I watched it for a minute or two. They should hang onto him.
ReplyDeleteI think he should stay. I actually 'ran into' AI last night for the only time this season, and since it was the finale, I watched it.
ReplyDeleteKeith was charming, constructive, and considerate. He had to sit next to LOUD Minaj this whole year. Absolutely no one they can get for the new season could be better than Keith (b/c what BIG name will ever sign for this shit-show again?)
I also think he's good and should stay.

ReplyDeleteI guess I wouldn't know that Anna, as the 'critique' portions of the finale show is no good example of the whole season. You are certainly correct, I'm basing my opinion on just last night like a dummy.
ReplyDeleteI just was maybe surprised at how NICE he seems. I had only seen photos, never heard his songs, nothing before last night.
I don't think they should force him out though. People don't need any more excuses to HATE AI.
I will admit it... I watched Idol this season. There I said it. And that said, I thought Keith Urban was great on the show. I had never heard him say two words before and knew nothing of his music, but he is charming, funny, direct and smart. And sexy. So there's that.

Keith should stay. Hes been the one bright spot on tge judges panel this whole season. If they ever lose Sparkles though, then I am gone.
ReplyDeleteBTW everyone who watched this season, even one episode, should be entitled to some prize money of some sort from the producers. Or an award or a medal or something. Seriously--this season was a disaster.
Keith Urban was actually the only judge I thought knew what he was talking about. He should stay. He's a good choice.
ReplyDeleteHe was great during the auditions, and was the best judge for the whole season. He's also great eye candy. He's probably a lot cheaper, too. They should definitely keep him.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Keith and I think if half his job hadn't been to keep Nikki from fighting with Mariah he would have been pretty good.
ReplyDeleteHe really loves music and he tries to give decent feedback--I think with a better group of judges he would be good. I would love to see him if they did get Harry Connick to come on because he is as passionate about the music as Harry is--that's what they really should be looking for--not people to just praise the singers.
If he wasn't a judge he would be a good mentor for the singers.
Keith was the only judge I found tolerable this season. Anyone who could sit next to Nicki Minaj the entire season deserves hazard pay. He just seems like a really cool dude (and I'm not just saying that cuz he wore an "I am the stig" t-shirt once).
ReplyDeleteKeith was the only good thing about the show at all. They should keep him. I think Nikki had a lot to do with the low ratings this year. Her and the fact that people are finally getting burned out on all these stupid talent shows that have taken over TV. If they were smart they would keep Keith and bring in someone else with actual talent who knows something about music.

ReplyDeleteI only watched a few episodes this season and only because Keith was on it. I am fan (he's modern country not whiney country). I would watch next season if they get decent judges and make the "live audience" portion shorter. I like the audition stage since Simon is gone. But, I do think this show has run it's course.

Guys, how many letters did Enty say MV has in her name? Was it 11 or 13? It stuck out in my mind that Enty said here that "Mariah does not do tours."
