"24" Actress Says Kiefer Sutherland Is An Angry Man

Shohreh Aghdashloo, who played a terrorist on the show "24" has a new book out about her life and talks about her role on the show and how she blames her character being killed on Kiefer Sutherland. She says that when the scripts were initially sent out and the plot line for the season, her character was not supposed to die. Ever. Instead, after 12 episodes her character was dead and she was off the show and she says it is because Kiefer Sutherland is an angry man who would fight with everyone on the show, and especially didn't like her. She does not say exactly why he did not like her. I'm guessing she probably said something about his drinking and he hates when people do that. He has been hearing it for years and knows he has issues and it is not a good idea to bring them up. "I’m afraid working with him proved to be hard. That young man was pretty angry. At the end of the day, I thought he was angry with himself."

  1. "That young man"...well clearly she wasn't talking about Kiefer!

  2. So she waited like 5 years to spill this hot info? Try to imagine how little i care.

  3. Who is this bEtch and why does she have a book?

  4. In all fairness, I'd like to hear his side of the story - perhaps she's a major pain in the ass.

  5. She was nominated for an Oscar. can't remember for what. Googling....

  6. It was "House of Sand and Fog", in 2003---after she was gone from "24".

  7. The moral is don't hack off the star of your TV show.

  8. Sounds like a Will Smith first Aunt Viv catfight.

  9. This reminds me of when middle school kids say they got a D or an F because "the teacher doesn't like me." Whatever. Own up to your own actions.

  11. 1/Sutherland was "a young guy"???
2/ Sutherland never hide his alcool problem:as long time he was professional on set,the producers didn't care.
Sutherland worked with a french director who continue to say on Sutherland that he never was late,he knews his lines
3/ if i remember well her character was a terrorist ,what did she think what would happen?

  12. Um, she was a bad guy on a show focused on fighting the bad quys. Rather shocking her character came up dead. Shocking.

  13. This is perhaps some preposterous whining from someone who wanted more air time, but boozer Sutherland always seemed as a huge douche to me.

  14. Kiefer is a known drunk, it wouldn't be unheard of

  15. She has an Oscar nom and an Emmy and a pretty respected career and she is in her 60s. I think she just doesn't give a f-k about being polite. oh and she probably sees Keifer as a coddled Hollywood kid who has been given second, third, and fourth chances because he was born into it.

  16. Even with all her credentials it is also a great way to sell your book, no? We're all here talking about it.

Kiefer is not Hollywood in the strict sense since his mother and father were Canadian actors and I believe even though his father made it big in Hollywood, his parents were divorced when Kiefer was young so Mom took the kids back to Toronto at that time.

But one can see where his anger issues come from, Donald Sutherland is not the warm fuzzy kind of dad who was never around anyway, pre divorce post divorce and his father has the kind of respect in the industry for his talent that I don't think Kiefer will ever achieve. Huge shadow to be under.

    1. @Tina that is a little like saying Johnny Depp's kids aren't Hollywood because they live in France. Whatever his personal relationship was with his father his career benefited. But of course you are right that controversy sells.

  17. I think there is a few blind items about Keifer being difficult on set and drinking on set. I think the popular guess was Charlie Sheen but maybe it was Keifer instead. It wouldnt surprise me. I love Keifer but he is angry drunk.

Enty please do some Keifer reveals.

  18. Like Keifer, however he had a stretcher on set of 24. So he could sleep off his hangovers. Not sure how professional that is. Cmon its acting...you're getting paid bizillions for a few months of work? Sheesh

  19. this is the first I've heard that Kiefer is hard to work with, everyone else says he's a consummate professional, even showing up when he doesn't have to. And 24 was constantly winging it, she may have originally been slated to stay alive but the changed the storyline.

Still, I wonder what truly happened. She's no slouch herself, I loved her in Sand and Fog. He's supposed to be a happy drunk, but he obviously has lots of problems.

  20. Perhaps he was staying in character? Jack Bauer isn't exactly Captain Kangaroo. And has been mentioned several times, she played a terrorist. 12 episodes or 24, the bird was going down.

  21. He has "issues"? He's a fucking alcoholic and has been for years. Everyone puts down Julia Roberts for bolting on him right before the wedding, but it's about the smartest thing she ever did.

  22. I'm sure right about now, Jack Bauer is saying, "Damn it!"

  23. Sounds like she needed an interesting tidbit so she could get press for her book here. I'm sure US sales have been slow for this no name here.

  24. The House of Sand and Fog is about the saddest, most depressing movie that one can watch. (It's based on a book that is equally sad and depressing). Very good, though.

  25. Who is this chick, and why is she writing a book about her life? Did she invent something to save mankind or invent a cure for some disease?

As for Keifer...he's an alcoholic. He is an angry man...but a decent actor.

Maybe I should write a book about my life, though most people would probably not get past the first page without falling asleep.

  26. Kiefer Sutherland is angry and difficult to work with?! I'm shocked! Shocked, I say!

  27. I've always liked her acting and she has the sexiest voice. It's her book, she can write what she wants. I've always liked Keifer too, but I've got a soft spot for drunk guys.

  28. I knew someone in LA that was a court stenographer and was in the closed courtroom when he was being sentenced for his last DUI. She said he was completely humiliated by what he had done and was as nice as could be.

Now, of course he is going to be on his best behavior in court. But I would like to think Kiefer has grown since his last tangle with the law and how he treats people.

All I want is these 24 movies to get started. His last series Touch was horrible.

  29. I think he was very uncomfortable on the set of 24 for other reasons. Being uncomfortable along with the pressure of a hit show along with drinking issues... Yeah. I'm sure he was angry sometimes.

  30. I know that Kiefer does have a drinking problem. He is a regular at a local bar here in NYC, my friend is the bartender. He will sit and drink alone for hours. Very nice guy, quiet, doesn't bother anyone. No one bothers him bc it's NYC, celebs are a normal site. But often he will pass out and they just call his car service and they take him home.

  31. Wow she looks great for 60! But I agree. The arc of the story can change at an y time. How good would Jack Bauer be if he NEVER got the terrorist. Wish her luck on her book. It doesn't sound like she's being nasty about Keifer. If the quote is correct she said she thought Keifer was angry with himself. Aren't most substance abusers a little angry with themselves? (Let me answer that-YES!)

  32. crila---Without googling, I think she's Persian---anyway, she was a huge star in her home country before hitting it big here in her middle age. She does have an fame/'importance' that's not necessarily as big here as it would be in Iran. But she will sell many books, maybe not to our hemisphere.

  33. He's a raging alcohlic and yet they are bringing the show back.

perhaps he's closeted? That's always my go to reason for why people are abusing substances for so many years, have alot of pent up rage, etc. Why so angry Kiefer? Is it because he was a rich kid? Because he was raised in pedotown? Did someone get handsy with him at an industry houseparty?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love her. Poor Keifer is the actor who was already out before his career started, and has had to remain closeted. I bet his dad had a hand in that, too.

  36. Please, it was what the effing hell happened to Behrooz that still bothers me, not his useless mother.
    (Seriously Curtis? Seriously?)

  37. Sounds like bitter grapes. Any 24 fan knows around episode 10-12 the villian is killed off and the plot changes or gets bigger and the next villian comes along for the rest of the season.

  38. I have two different friends who have had the displeasure of working with Keifer. He is an ass. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with him.
