Blind Item #2

This former almost A list movie actor who approached A list only because of a franchise recently spent 48 hours in a detox facility which is all he had time for without drawing attention to his news. His body was so messed up that everyone around him thought he was going to die. He is still really sick and is having severe withdrawals and doctors have told him if he does not stop drinking he will die.

  3. I like the Dan Radclif guess. Unfortunately, Shia WAS considered A-list by Enty, not 'almost'.

For the blind, other than Radcliff--Is Elijah Wood doing okay?

  4. Just googled my own question---Elijah Wood looks good and is working his Hobbit-ASS OFF these days. Whew.

    My guess is Radcliff.

  5. There's an image in the Daily Mail today of Radcliffe looking skeletal.

  6. What is enty's rating for Daniel Radcliff? I would have guessed he was a former A list. Elijah sounds like a good guess.

  7. Harry Potter 's actor: he's in DM today whho wrote on his gaunt figure

  8. Radcliffe has been open about his alcohol problems in the past, and he is appearing in a play now, which would explain the short rehab.

  9. Sorry I spelled Dan's last name wrong EVERY TIME.^^

  10. I like little Danny Potter. I hope he gets himself sorted. He seems like a good egg.

Whether this blind is about Daniel or not, he is NOT looking well.

  12. Agree with char. Hope he gets sorted, it sounds like a hellish life with the drinking.

  13. Childhood fame is a beast. I can't see it doing anything good for anyone. Parents who encourage their kids in show business should be severely flogged.

  14. He looks like he has been partaking in the heroin.

  15. He looks terrible. Hope he works himself out. We don't want anymore young deaths!

  16. Maybe Cory Monteith's recent death will be a factor in this person seeking long term help. 48 hour rehab shouldn't even exist, there's not much one can do in 2 days to overcome an addiction so severe you're suffering withdrawals.

Poor DanRad, even if this blind isn't him, he isn't lookin too good.

  17. Radcliffe's pretty young to be at the "stop or die" stage in drinking. Unless he is drinking rubbing alcohol I'm thinking this must be someone older.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree with Basil....I also think this is someone older.
Not to say Daniel Radcliffe isn't looking a lil unhealthy, but he's kinda young to be "near death."
I think this is a lifelong drinker

  19. Either way DR doesn't look healthy. I've heard him in the past say he does not drink and I wasn't sure if that was because he had substance abuse problems. I've always liked him and he was such a cute kid.

It seems like all three of the kids came through of massive fame remarkably well and I'd hope that would still be true. I wouldn't think at his age he's be near death though at his age since pretty recently he'd been so much healthier on Broadway.

  20. Daniel Radcliffe is fine. He's grown up, lost the baby fat, has always been pale and isn't wearing stage or film makeup here so you can see his dark circles.
His show runs 6 days a week, with two shows on Wednesday and Saturday. It's hard work.
    Look elsewhere.

  21. I just hope he can see the light and give up all alcohol and forever.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ...tho if he was going through real alcohol withdrawal and people thought he was going to die, he would not be ambulatory in 48 hours. So this doesn't quite make sense.

  24. Elijah Wood is working on Wilfried, I think and is doing well.

  25. Well - I have no idea if this is Radcliffe (though I agree he looks like hell) but @Basil: when I was 17 I had a classmate who drank very, very much. We were friendly and I always loved our occasional cigarette breaks, and during one of these she told me that after being taken in by the police the previous weekend for once again being so god damn drunk in public, she was sent to a doctor who told her that if she kept drinking the same way she did, she'd be dead before her 25th birthday.

Of course there's the possibility that the doctor just wanted to scare her, but she was very open about - and we all knew from first hand knowledge - that she could drink incredible amounts of alcohol in one night; also weekends for her were just basically 48+ hours of bingedrinking. She and I both shared a very dark sense of humor so every Monday, if I saw her, I'd greet her with variations of "holy shit you're still alive"! Or she'd just wave at me from across the hall yelling "I made it": we laughed and it was funny, but it seriously would not have surprised me if she had died back then.

Point is - I think it's very much possible to drink yourself to death, even while young!

  27. I once attended group therapy with a girl in her early 20s. She was a repeat visitor to the group; kept relapsing into alcoholism. Her initial entry came after being admitted to the hospital nearly comatose and very bloated. According to her, the bloat drained off was nearly two liters of "alcohol slurry." Her liver was functioning but couldn't handle the volume, so the excess accumulated into alcoholic mush. After her release from surgery, she was put directly into hospice. They did not expect her to live more than six weeks. I think you can be that young and that far gone.

BTW, I know I always post long comments. Sorry about that; I try to say something worthwhile or interesting in exchange. I've also never introduced myself. I'm Sam from Indianapolis.

  28. Sam, that's awful I've never heard of someone drinking that much.

    Nice to meet you btw.

I've no idea who this is, maybe Helmsworth the younger?

  29. Hi Sam, I like the slightly long posts like yours. Good story well written = good longish. And hi :D

  30. Mac Culkin for my guess

And yes, Basil - you don't have to be old to die from alcohol. A body, even a young body, can only take so much punishment.

  31. Harry Potter not A list??? Nope.

  32. Hi Sam! As you can tell by the long post I wrote above yours, I'm like that too! Haha I always write the longest comments but it's like you said, it's just about wanting to add something to the discussion. Nothing to apologize for at all, and I liked your story :) Welcome to CDAN; remember that the trolls only bite if you feed them!
