Blind Items Revealed

March 11, 2013

Forget about movies with a bunch of A listers in them. If you want some really crazy things going on, your best bet is to hire a bunch of C+ listers who used to be almost A because they have money and have fallen so there is usually a reason. There was a movie in the past few years that fit this bill. It did not do that well, but I'm not sure what you expect when you hire this group of people. There was the former almost A lister from mostly movies who has fallen to C, but still has one of the best voices ever. And great eyes. I used to have a thing for her. Now though it seems she spent most of the movie high as a kite. Friendly, but high. One former big drug user was really well behaved. Still can't act, but he was well behaved. The true disaster on the set was this former A lister. Yep, he was A list and is now doing some tiny no budget movie. Bitter about it too. He was a complete a-hole. He had a mustache that he refused to shave. He changed lines without telling the director and the director and the actor nearly came to blows several times. He was constantly showing up on set drunk and crew members discovered a crack pipe and crack in a car that he was the only one allowed to drive.

Movie: "Endure"
Former almost A list actress: Joey Lauren Adams
Former big drug user: Tom Arnold
Former A list actor: Judd Nelson

  6. I've wanted to diddle Joey Lauren Adams since the first time she graced my TV screen on Married With Children.

I have no clue why she would be considered an A lister or even almost, though. Married w Children, Dazed & Confused and a couple Kevin Smith Movies. What am I missing?

  7. @Count, because Enty has a thing for her ;)

  8. Sorry but Joey Lauren Adams has NEVER been A list...not even during the Chasing Amy days and her voice annoys the shit out of me! I love Tom Arnold, I met him once through a guy I was dating and he complimented me and told my guy "she's a keeper because she looks like my current gf who is hot". Lol!!

  12. Used to? I will never not have a thing for Joey Lauren Adams.

  13. Never heard of the movie

  14. I've always liked JLA and Chasing Amy will always be a favorite of mine. I wouldn't say she has one of the best voices ever but then that movie was the only time I've heard her sing. I don't think she was ever above a B or B- though, no B+ verging on an A.

Nice that TA was well behaved and took the job seriously.

  15. I loved her character in Big Daddy

  16. Tom Arnold was awesome in Austin Powers in that rest room cameo.

Sad about Judd Nelson. Never cared for his acting at all.

  17. I'm glad for Tom Arnold that he was well behaved, I've always thought that he was the perfect side-kick, a really quick funny guy.

I think Joey Lauren Adams WAS almost A list. Chasing Amy, Big Daddy? She seems nice, cute, girl next door, what's not to like? shame, shame Judd Nelson, crack is wack!

  19. gosh darn it! I will always think of Judd in The Breakfast Club.I have seen him in some low budget doozies and felt bad for him.

  21. Agreed that Joey Lauren Adams was a real hottie back in the day.

  22. Thanks, EmEyeKay!

Yes, this was all true, though parts were a little exaggerated--"nearly came to blows"...well...I never said that, but it wasn't UNtrue. Judd Nelson was being such an asshat that he could have escalated things to that level.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun in the comments that day. The blinds where people have to do research and guess are my favorites.

  23. Also, even though the Enties were the ones who gave the ratings, I agree that JLA was almost A list. She was in many popular movies and because of her distinctive voice, she was recognizable and had a good shot at a big career. I don't know why it never happened.

  24. I'm happy that things seemed to have worked out for tom. He came into a print shop I was working at in late 80s in LA and I typed up his resume. I suspected he was high cuz he was so fidgety. Before Roseanne. But he seemed nice. Glad he's straightened out.

  25. She was pretty good in "Biodome!"

  26. Kudd nelson was always asshole- y. Its a shame his addictions ruined his career.

  27. This makes sad. I just watched Breakfast Club for the millionth time last weekend and was wondering what happened to him.

  28. I understand why JLA has doubters, but for a split second in time it did seem like she was about to be a big star. She was cute and funny, both men and women found her appealing, and Hollywood was (and always is) desperate for "the next Meg Ryan" rom-com queen to appear and save them from over-dependence on risky action movies. Like Karen says, it mystery why her career didn't happen. Probably drugs... almost always is.

  29. You know, I've never read anything negative about Tom Arnold except for the drug use. Does he have a rep. I've not heard of? He just strikes me as a nice guy...maybe he's been a drug user, but a nice drug user.

  30. Oh Zeeky, I loved Biodome and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Okay, maybe a little. I saw Judd Nelson on Melrose @ 15 years ago. He was totally tweaking and kept going into the dressing room to do bumps with this really hot guy. Oh wait, that was me. Judd bought sunglasses or something, I didn't notice, didn't care.

  31. I had a crush on Judd Nelson because of Breakfast Club when I was a very young teen. I'm a grown up now, of course. Yep, that's what I tell myself every time I watch it. Lol

  32. Never liked Judd Nelson's acting and he was NOT attractive.

  33. I recall being pleasantly surprised by A Cool Dry Place (by both JLA and Vince Vaughn). I think she got some lower level awards/nominations for Chasing Amy so maybe she was on her way to A but I can see that voice holding her back.

Judd Nelson has always been and will always be a douche.

The few people I know who have worked with/interacted with Tom Arnold have always said he was a nice and considerate fellow.

  34. Biodome ! Judd Nelson = untalented Alec Baldwin

  35. I think Joey Lauren Adams didn't make it beyond B list because she was too much like Renee Z., and Rene--for whatever reason--landed the better roles. Seriously, I still get them confused sometimes.

  36. For whatever reason....

  38. I actually think Tom Arnold is a good actor.
Has anyone seen the movie "Happy Endings" ?
Great movie and he gave a touching performance.

  39. And I'm like, "Who doesn't smoke all the crack? What kind of amateur leaves behind rocks?" Clearly not a person who actually enjoys smoking cocaine. Aargh. Even sober now, years later, I would not be able to get out of that car and leave that behind.

  40. All this time, I thought JLA was in Jerry McGuire. She WAS in The Break Up, and that's a pretty funny movie.

I always imagined that Judd didn't really have to "act" that much when he played Bender.

While I was on maternity leave, we watched a lot of Roseanne. Tom was pretty funny in that "he's in on the joke" sort of way.
