Blind Items Revealed

June 1, 2013

Despite giving this A+ list mostly movie actor his start and some of his biggest breaks, the A+ list actor no longer speaks to the man who gave him his start. Our A+ list actor has moved beyond all that and thinks of himself as a serious actor and not a person who would ever resort to that kind of role any longer.

Ben Affleck/Kevin Smith

  1. Too vague of a blind. They could have had a falling out regardless of Affleck's success. Also, Kevin Smith hasn't done much lately, so what role could he even offer?

  2. You need to be nice to people on your way up, you meet the same people on your way down.

  3. Not sure why but I don't believe this. I'm not even an Affleck fan but this seems off.

  4. Wow, if true. I agree 100% with Del Riser

  5. Kevin Smith would disagree, he's a huge Affleck supporter and he's always said Affleck is a great guy. Plus if he's this kind of ass, why would he be visiting Lohan in rehab?

  6. Smith acts like a little girl in situations like this, so I really don't believe it.

If Affleck didn't speak to him, he'd act like he did with Howard Stern.

+Affleck has always been a serious actor, he had an Oscar 15 years ago and worked with Smith after he won it, why the sudden snobbery?

This site is getting more and more unreliable.

  7. Kevin Smith did a Q&A performance at my college a few years ago. During, he shared a story of how Jason Mewes and Ben Affleck were in rehab together. He made it sound like a funny story, but the undertones were that Ben wanted left alone.

I am a huge Ben fan (can't wait to see him as Batman), so I hope he isn't that big of a jerk in real life.

  8. if it was true, why does Kevin Smiths fangirl on twitter on how he knows the new Batman??

  9. This is a total lie, as is most of the so-called "blind items" posted here. I think this enty person just makes up lies to go with the latest gossip, i.e., Ben Affleck as Batman. There is no reliability here anymore.

  10. Its a gossip site wtf are you people expecting, CNN fact checking or some shit? Chill out.

  11. I think this is kind of true, i remember hearing something like this from kevin on his podcast recently. But just because they may not speak anymore doesn't mean Kevin can't be happy for him? Besides, Kevin is a huge batman fan and I'm sure would be excited with anyone cast to play batman except for bruce willis.

  12. Kevin will somehow convince Ben to show up in Clerks 3. If Matt will do it, Ben will too.

    Snoochies!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think the man who gave Affleck his start was Richard Linklater though.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yet, he can talk to Lindsay Lohan...

  15. I don't know. I love Kevin Smith, but only in small doses. He's great as Silent Bob because he stfu.

Ben is busy, working, taking care of the kids etc. Kevin is too. I don't see my friends as much either. Of course, I'm just antisocial.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @jenn, I don't see myself as anti-social. I just tire of the BS people spew.

So I kinda relate to what you're saying

  17. Yay! It's Kevin Smith day! Favourite KS movie anyone? Mine is Chasing Amy, but closely followed by Clerks, because I lived that shit for 10 years and they nailed it.

    1. Dogma here. That's my religion. Salma Hayeks line about how you people for it all wrong. god doesn't care what you believe in as long as you have faith.
      And Alanis as God: GENIUS

  18. I think affleck does have big fat attitude. One of the people who handles his celebrity best is Jerry Seinfeld. He doesnt take any of it seriously, and has said hollywood is like a big high school, with cool crowd and geeks etc. he just doesnt take it seriously, and i like that. Ben shld try that attitude, instead of cultivated paps are ruining my life tude.

    1. Auntliddy! 1st Jennifer Lopez & now u think Jerry Seinfeld is a nice guy? You, auntliddy r too nice for gossip! Jerry is a major snob & doesn't have the time ofday for anyone who is not filthy rich.

  19. If its true that Ben visited Lohan in rehab, don't be so sure it was a friendly, supportive visit. I'm sure it had more to do with hushing her up about certain things, rather than patting her on the back.

That's if he actually visited her. He's so busy with other things I can't imagine he'd find the time...unless it had to do with something important for himself.

  20. I am a big ol' Kev Smith fanboy and I am calling bullshit on this one. Smith has demonstrated he will happily trash anyone he thinks deserves it (ask him about Bruce Willis sometime) and if Affleck was truly being a dick like this he would get called out for it. A little bit of trivia - Kevin Smith bought his house from Affleck.

  21. I absolutly loathe Kevin Smith. I listen to a couple of radio shows and he's been "banned" on one of them because he hogs up the mike and just won't STFU.

I blame the Kevin and Bean Show for that. They give him lots of interview time, and he probably thinks he should get the same airtime on my other shows.

I fast forward whenever he's on.

As for this blind, I think Kevin's and Ben's lives are just too busy to make it to get-togethers. I think the (reduced) level of interaction between the two is what they are comfortable with.

  22. When Batman flops Ben will do cameos in Kevin Smith movies happily. And I Robt believe this bs for a second...

  23. Agreed, Lucas. I think Kevin Smith has made it known that he will talk some shit.

If Affleck went to rehab, he probably had to make the decision to hang out with Smith a lot less because Smith is an unabashed stoner. It's hard to maintain sobriety and stay on the straight and narrow if you're hanging with a guy that constantly smokes pot. I don't necessarily think there are "bad" feelings, per se.

  24. Smith is a total A. I don't blame Ben for ignoring his childish BS.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This isn't true. Kevin Smith has NEVER been shy about his celebrity squabbles, he's got a HUGE mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ben hired half the cast of Red State for Argo.

    This is total BS.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Kevin Smith is one of the most overrated director/writers of all time. All his movies suck and are so outdated now.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is complete BS. Kevin Smith regularly talks about his friendship with Ben in interviews. KS is the first person to public ally call out someone for being a douche. He did it with Bruce Willis

  29. Anonymous3:06 PM

Kevin is a comic fan boy...basically running his shop & raising his family now...

Ben needs to remember to still be friends with the people who helped him...or he's going to go back to where he was after the Bennifer fiasco...no one would hire him

  30. So far Chasing Amy is in the lead with one vote...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Its all right, take your time, I've got all night! It's Saturday, aka "toomuchwineNight" while hubs plays video games.

    ReplyDelete
  32. When I first heard Ben visited Lindsay in rehab I thought he must have wanted to tell her to shut her mouth about anything that happened between the 2 of them, with the promise of a part down the line. It was too random. Just my thought.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Where's VIP to say that I nailed this one! Love kS and as we all know, Affleck was the bomb in phantoms yo

    ReplyDelete
  34. How dare Ben want time alone in rehab. Dick.

    ReplyDelete
  35. so Ben Affleck thinks to be a "serious actor" so he's going to play Batman in a Zack snyder movie LOL so logic

    ReplyDelete
  36. This is a BS blind. Affleck and Smith are still great friends in real life. Trying to drudge up more shit for the Batman story line.

    ReplyDelete
  37. All right! Dogma is on the board with one vote also, tied for first with Chasing Amy. Can I hear a Mall Rats??

    ReplyDelete
  38. Dogma is my favorite too.

Kevin & Jennifer did a live Oscars podcasts (I think it was for Plus One) and they both sounded genuinely excited and happy for Affleck. Kevin even got emotional when talked about how Ben could've said "Fuck you" to a lot of people who snubbed him after the Bennifer years, but didn't. I gotta call BS on this one, too.

I know there's a Kevin Smith/Affleck/Forgeticus joke in here somewhere.

  39. All the people doubting this, I wonder how much of it has to do with Smith's massive change in the last few years from a Christian tee-totaler focused on his work to a pot-smoking drama queen who can't create anything that makes more than a nickel?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I stand for Dogma as well.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Dogma wins! I thought it was a great movie too. Thanks to everyone who voted!

  42. Was talking about this with my BF yesterday. He's a huge Smith fan, listens to all his podcasts. It's true they haven't spoken in years, but not out of animosity, more because they've got other things going on in their lives.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Poor Justin - when was Kevin ever a tee-totaller? When he was 10?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Wow, no wonder Affleck got along with Jennifer Lopez for a while. I suppose Affleck is still smarting from "Jersey Girl," though, one of his hugest flops.

But "Chasing Amy" proved to the world that he can act, so you'd think at least he'd be grateful to Smith for that. But yeah, he's riding high now and Smith is in the dumpster career-wise, so I guess Affleck doesn't want the fail to rub off on him.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Kevin Smith has stated that Affleck doesn't talk to him much anymore (but they do e-mail back and forth I believe), but he's not too hurt about it and still supports him.

I don't think it's because Affleck thinks he's above him, Smith says it's because Jennifer Garner thinks Affleck should grow up and not be as tight with Smith anymore.
