Your Turn
How much do you spend a year on coffee? Take a second and add it up. I don't even drink coffee and I spent almost $1000 total at Starbucks and Coffee Bean last year. Granted, some of that was buying a coffee for my mom or dad or both, but most if it was for me. One of my best friends spent $3500. A $5 latte and a $5 muffin or wrap almost every working day plus sometimes on weekends and holidays.
Zero. Never really liked it much.
ReplyDeleteAnd i thought i wld be the only one to say thus!! And didnt we fo this one already?
DeleteI refuse to do this calculation as I'm a major coffee addict and I don't want that to change so this will just make me feel guilty.
ReplyDeleteOh goody, another your turn about coffee
ReplyDeleteWasn't there a Your Turn about coffee drinking a few weeks ago?

Yall crazy. I might be in the americorps and I'd make 12100 a year. The money being wasted on coffee is astounding. To each his own, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI worked at Starbucks and most can be made at home with a milk steamer and some syrup. You can even buy syrup from Starbucks- its just $8 a bottle. It's really a fuckin waste of money.
I buy a jar of instant and creamer at the dollar store. Three bucks for a cup of joe is nuts.
ReplyDeleteYour Turn: When's the last time you saw Lindsay Lohan naked?
ReplyDeleteAbout one second ago! Boobies.
DeleteI buy a small thing of coffee grounds whenever we have guests coming to spend the night; it's also the only time that the coffee maker gets used.
ReplyDeletenone, tea is better.
ReplyDeleteThousands. I wish I was kidding.
ReplyDeleteI use my class ring as a nipple ring, from which I hang my eco-friendly hemp bag...
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry! Am I repeating myself?
Get a Keurig & you won't need Starbucks. 54 cents vs. 5$ is a big difference.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we just had this one. Don't drink coffee. Tea instead. Once again.
ReplyDeleteCommercial coffee? Honestly, maybe $20 a year, including tipping the barista.
ReplyDeleteCoffee at home? About $200 a year, give or take.
The only time I do commercial (Starbucks, et al) is when I'm meeting up with my sister - and she's the one doing the foofy coffee drink thing.
Depending on weather, I'm doing a basic cup, iced or hot.

ReplyDeletezero - don't do coffee. Tea in the winter and I don't want to think about how much I spend on energy drinks.
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee, love the aroma hate the taste...
ReplyDeleteAlmost nothing. Thank god my work keeps the pantry fully stocked with some fresh Starbuck's grounds, or there is a Kuerig (sp?) if god forbid, the Starbucks run out.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is needing a serious energy boost but hates coffee, may I suggest Spark, from the Advocare line. Yeah yeah, Advocare is a bs money scheme, but the Spark energy supplement really worked for me. I felt alert, energized, it curbed my appetite without making me feel shaky, cold sweaty, or jittery. I just get it on Amazon, it's waaaay cheaper than going through a rep and you don't have to deal with all the bullshit. Def go with the fruit punch if you are not a fan of orange flavored items.
I make my daily coffee at home with my Krups coffee maker. I don't understand people forking over $3 per cup when you could just make a delicious cup at home. But we easily spend the money saved on at-home coffee on wine - and diapers and pull-ups. Honestly, the baby/toddler industry is a RACKET! Consequently, this leads to more wine drinking. It's a vicious cycle.
ReplyDeleteIf I may, here are some suggestions for future Your Turns, dear Enties:
If you were stranded on an island, what three beauty products must you have?
If you were about to die in a plane crash, who would you call?
How much do you spend on clothes?
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
How often do you go on Facebook?
Could you ditch social media for a day?
Just trying to help a brother/sister/whoever you are out!
At least this isn't about sleeping again. LOL.
JSierra - I Used to LOVE Spark. MY ex's mom was a rep so we had a huge supply of them. Didn't realize you could find them on amazon, not that I had bothered trying. Thanks for the tip!

ReplyDelete@VIP. Once. Just now. Which was one time too many. Thanks a lot, you. I'd rather pour coffee in my eyes than see that shit again.
ReplyDeleteI get a McDonald's iced coffee every day of the year so I believe we're at 989.15. Money well spent. I'd never wake up and get moving without it.
ReplyDeleteI love kittens
DeleteNothing, I drink Tea
ReplyDeleteZero. I don't drink coffee.
ReplyDeleteNot so much; gourmet coffee is free at my job; I have a Keurig in my office.
ReplyDeleteBut when I want to splurge I don't spend no more than $100.00 a year.
$0. I work for a coffee company, so I get free coffee each month. I have so much in the house right now, I've been sending it to relatives all over the country. And I still have more than I'll ever drink.
ReplyDeleteZero Hate the taste of coffee. Tea or regular Coke, not diet for me.
ReplyDeletezero on coffee, good tea however-maybe $100 per year and it's home brew, loose leaf Barry's Gold blend all the way!
ReplyDeleteProbably around a grand. If it gets me through work it is worth it to me. Sometimes it is the highlight of my day to get an iced coffee or mocha.
ReplyDeleteProbably $400. Most of my coffee is home-brewed on my Keurig. I buy at Wawa a few times a year. Starbucks, even less. Once or twice a year, tops.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I did this experiment where on days I didn't buy a coffee, I would transfer the $4 into my savings acct from my checking acct. I ended up saving about $100/mo, so extrapolating, $1200/yr.
ReplyDeleteI now brew a cup at home but not daily, so $20/mo at most.
None on coffee, but I do love Starbucks' hot chocolate with carmel syrup. Pro tip: put it in the fridge overnight, stir well the next morning, and you have the thickest, richest, best chocolate milk ever. But it's also the stupidest, most expensive chocolate milk ever.
ReplyDeleteI misread the post as "a $5 latte and a $5 muffin wrap" and thought "WTF is a muffin wrap? A muffin in a pancake?"
I have absolutely no idea how much. My husband gave me this funny little metal starbucks card and told me it would last a long time.
ReplyDelete$1095 at the Bucks. Plus $91.25 in tips.
ReplyDeleteZero. Hubby probably spends $200 a year on Tassimo discs; that's about it.
ReplyDeleteI don't even drink coffee,, even the smell makes me sick.
ReplyDeleteThere's a great passage in The Elegance of the Hedgehog that brilliantly describes the difference between coffee vs non coffee drinkers. Its a good book, if anyone is looking for something to read.
ReplyDeleteI'm not English but I love tea and occasionally a French vanilla cappuccino that I make at home and in my opinion tastes better than what you buy at shops.
ReplyDeleteI drink Aldis.......lots and lots of cheap Aldis coffee...it's not bad.......I spend more on Half and half though...
ReplyDeleteI drink Starbucks once or twice a month the rest of the time it's at the house.
