Blind Item #9
This foreign born pop singer from north of the border told her girlfriend they would go public after the singer split with her husband. The split was long ago but the pop singer is afraid to come out and her girlfriend finally left her two weeks ago. The girlfriend is also a singer but not as well known outside her own country.

ReplyDeleteWell it says the woman split with her husband a while ago. Does it mean divorce or secret separation? If someone recently got married I would say they didn't separate a while ago. Why not just say Canada instead of foreign born north of the border?

ReplyDeleteIs Serena Ryder known outside of Canada at all? I like her, but am not up to date on her career.
Fun fact: Saw her first big performance about seven years ago at the Women's Blues Review at the Danforth Music Hall. Shelagh Rogers said when introducing the then unknown Serena, "you'll be able to say you saw her before she was famous." And she correctly predicted Serena would quickly become a force to be reckoned with.
Anne denied being a lesbian in her 2009 autobiography, and it turns out she had a very long affair with a married man, who she eventually married when he left his wife.

ReplyDeleteNelly is still married, according to Wikipedia. Alanis is still with her husband. Celine is still married. Shania is still married. Sarah announced her separation in 2008. I think this is her, and she hasn't come out yet because...maybe she doesn't want to perpetuate the stereotype that all of the Lilith Fair kind of women are lesbians?

KT Tunstall. North of the border could be Scotland if British. Rumours of her sapphic tendencies have been swirling around here in the UK for a while and she split with her band-member husband a while ago but didn't say anything until promoting her album last year.
