Your Turn

Have you ever gone to a homecoming event since you left school? Have you been to a school reunion?

  1. I spend wayyyy too much on coffee, while wearing my class ring as a nipple ring, from which I hang my eco-friendly hemp bag while sleeping 3-5 hours a night.

  3. I did the 10 year reunion, and all it did was reinforce my feeling that I hated all those bastards while I was in school and time hadn't changed a thing.

  5. I never even went to homecoming when I was IN school. I never knew it was such a BIG DEAL until my daughters freshman year and her agonizing over whether or not she would get a date (she got one...so what if he was a guy into hunting and fishing with whom she had absolutely nothing in common?...he was cute. ;) )

  6. Never. The people I knew from HS that I like, I still see. That's enough.

    Homecoming- hell no.

Reunion- 10 and 20 year, and they both sucked.

  10. Went to the 10 year, waste of time, it's been 30+ years and anyone from HS I am interested in being friends with I am, couldn't care less about the others.

  11. High school: I'm on the committee to plan the reunions. I live in an unusual place. A bazillion people live here their whole lives. Even the ones who go off to college, like moi, come back to raise their fams. I always have a good time at the festivities, but I've always gotten on with all walks of life - in high school, college and as a grownup. I also fully believe that you can not judge a person based on what they did in high school. We all have had shitty moments, no?

  13. Ha Ha ...no way.. I didn't like those no make-up , long skirt wearing, UB40 worshiping cows then and I do not like them now... I think they are all Tea Party Patriots anyway now... that is some transition.

  16. I went to my ten-year reunion, and I was absolutely dreading it but I was glad I went. It was very gratifying to see that the losers were still losers, and the "winners" had actually peaked in high school so they were losers now too. I only enjoyed talking to about three people that evening, but they were awesome.

  17. No, I skipped mine. Too much drama would have ensued, I was concerned I'd punch out a chick I've had a long beef with, and only 35 people showed up. I spent the day texting my two best friends from high school.

  18. Nupe. Graduated early, got an engineering scholarship.
Hell no, no boy in the 1970s wanted a smart girl.
Fortunately, my hubbie of over 30 years, who I met in college did.
Nothing in high school evens stands out except the over hormone boys who loved to fight and through each other through glass.
Good lord. No. Just NO. I didn't need the validation then, I don't need it now.

  20. I went to all three of my reunions and dragged my husband along. By the third one he knew as many people as I did. I moved back to my old town and for some odd reason everyone who comes back for a visit contacts me to get together. I usually drag him along with me.
My kids went to the same schools as I did so I have been back many, many times.
