Kanye West Screws Over Vancouver - Again

It is pretty obvious to me at this point that the only places Kanye West would like to take his concert tour are those within a twenty minute drive to his place in Los Angeles. Any thing beyond that and you are going to be screwed. You are also going to be screwed if KanyeWest  has any other plans for that week which requires any commitment of time from him.

Vancouver has now found out the hard way that Kanye thinks only of Kanye. He postponed his first concert there so he could plan his proposal to Kim Kardashian. The days didn't conflict but Kanye thought his time was better spent organizing an event which looked like crap and was over the top and in his own words wasn't romantic other than giving a few hours of time to the people who spent well over 2 million bucks on tickets and travel plans and hotel plans.

He told the people of Vancouver that he would make it up to them on Halloween night. He had an off day in between his three Los Angeles shows and figured he could fly up there shine his light of God and be back in Los Angeles before the smog fumes entirely left his body.

A few hours before the concert though he postponed the show with many people unaware that he had done so until they showed up at the venue. He says there was a car accident involving some of the equipment from the show that has been damaged and he won't put on a show unless it can be perfect. At this point I doubt Vancouver even wants him to come because it is obvious he doesn't care about them. He could have gone up there and played a version of the show that was not as effects heavy and if he has the talent should be able to pull it off.

This is the thing that makes my point about him not caring. He has postponed other shows including one in Anaheim until he gets the items rebuilt. But, he has a whole set here in Los Angeles so why cancel the Anaheim show down the road? Because it is further than a 20 minute drive.

  1. Is this how it's going to be: bombarded by not just the K-Klan but Kanye too? There must be something more gossip worthy out there.

  4. When a show is more reliant on a huge LCD screen than the performer, then you know something is wrong.

  5. Kanye lost his mind years ago, I try not acknowledge anything he does.

OT: yesterday was the first time I actually enjoyed troll day... I thought it was hilarious!

  6. It is very rare that one person can carry a stadium or arena show without any visuals or effects. Maybe an extraordinary voice, like Adele or Barbra Streisand, or purveyor of decades-old sing-along favorites like Paul McCartney or Elton John.

Kanye West doesn't fit either of these categories; nor do a lot of contemporary stars, including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry or Rhianna.

Kanye was right to postpone. If the Vancouver show was nothing but him showing up with his microphone, a lot of people would have gone home disappointed.

  7. He (and all the other men who are stupid enough to hook up with a K-Trash) need to be tested for Scopolamine.

  10. The logic used to write this blog is bizarre. kanye is an ego maniac, his shows are huge, over the top productions. If he showed up with a half ass show, you'd talk about how he diesnt give a shit, because Vancouver got a terrible show different from the splashy ones he usually does. No one can win on here.

  12. Dime, I totally agree, which is why I find it best to just amuse myself. There is no logic here whatsoever, no celebrity can win. If the blog cheers for someone one day, guaranteed there will be a tear down the next day. It's madness, I tells ya!

  13. Having been a musician, I can understand the artistic visual side of his argument. His fans pay for an explosive (and talented) show, and he couldn't give it to them due to equipmemt damage. If he can't fulfill his obligation to his fans, a half assed show won't work.

As for cancelling Vancouver twice, I get the backlash, but his other concerts should be cancelled until he can get back to performing. It's the responsible thing to do as an artist, and this is his career. Now, he could have done a massive meet and greet party instead, but to each his own. Damaged equipment like that is enraging, so maybe cancelling was the best option, given his temper.

  16. I was in Ottawa when Kanye played at the Ottawa Blues Fest. I was there for a Friday night concert, It had been raining all day but then it stopped and the sun came out for our concert, gorgeous evening, not Kanye, which was a blast and on Saturday afternoon we were on the hotel roof/terrace and we could hear the music from the festival and we could hear Kanye starting his show, right before the skies opened and it poured and poured and poured. We thought that wow couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. LOL.

  18. They had trouble getting the giant mountain set together for the 1st show. Kanye canceled the 2nd show in Vancouver so they could fix the problems, and rescheduled it for Halloween. I saw the 2nd show in San Jose, which is "more than 20 minutes from LA." On the way to the rescheduled Vancouver show the equipment truck got in a accident and the big screen broke so they canceled again. It's not Kanye's fault. PS - Lou Reed did a review of Yeezus and said...There are moments of supreme beauty and greatness on this record, and then some of it is the same old shit. But the guy really, really, really is talented. He's really trying to raise the bar. No one's near doing what he's doing, it's not even on the same planet.
