ReplyDeleteMax Minghella has been in a ton of movies. He's a very good actor. Art School Confidential, The Social Network, Elvis and Anabelle, 10 Years. His dad was the late British director Anthony Minghella. His older sister is head of production at Sony.
ReplyDeleteArt Rooney was the founder/owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wellington Mara was the owner of the New York Giants. I believe their mother is a Rooney and their father is obviously a Mara. NFL franchise values are approaching the 1 billion dollar mark these days.

ReplyDeleteI think Kate is mostly TV. She's a regular on House of Cards and she's done loads of TV. I remember her as the gay cheerleader girlfriend on Nip/Tuck.

ReplyDeleteNot Rooney or Kate Mara, though. They are only two of four siblings. If one of them got kicked out of the will, the other would only receive an additional 8% (going from getting a 25% share to 33%). This blind would assume that all the money is coming from one source who controls all funds, whereas the Mara family is wealthy on both their mother's and father's side (so all grandparents and parents would have to cut off for it to really be a threat).
Besides, I would find it highly irregular for the Mara kids to not already have trusts already set up for them. You and me and every other plebe gets whatever scraps are left over when Peepaw kicks the bucket, but in families like this one, that is locked down and secured at birth. So unless Daddy was looking down at his precious new baby and told his lawyers to set aside X million for her -- unless she turns out to be a lesbo, natch -- I find this one hard to believe for Kate or Rooney.
Neither Rashida Jones (Quincy Jones) nor Julia Louis Dreyfus (heir to $3 billion, give or take a billion) fit the clues.
Of course, Enty could just be shit at math and hyping up the drama all for a "Guess who's gay?!" blind. Woulnd't be the first time.
@NomNom83 - Julia Louis Dreyfus is famous for SNL, Seinfeld, The New Adventures of Old Christine and now Veep. Definitely mostly TV. Enty probably made this up but I think it's supposed to be about Rooney M. How would he know what bed this person sleeps in? Were his "spies" hiding under the bed? I though rich people kept their shit tight. Can't imagine someone was just gabbing about this situation.

ReplyDeleteDreyfus isn't in line to get anywhere near her father's whole share of the Dreyfus fortune. She may well inherit less than a billion.
ReplyDeleteAs to the Mamet's, to quote Sherwood Anderson, "You can make a killing as a playwright, but you can't make a living." There just isn't that much money in writing scripts for off-Broadway plays and indie films. David Mamet's comfortable but hardly wealthy.
Yeah, this is written as the Maras, not the Mamets. The Maras money is in the billions, and while not poor, @B Profane, Mamet has a net worth of approx 20 mil, so not a lot for an acclaimed director and a celebrated playwright.
