Nigella Lawson Testifies - Doesn't Deny Drug Use

Nigella Lawson took the stand today in the trial involving her two former assistants who are accused of stealing nearly $41M from Nigella's ex husband. The Taste judge says that she was reluctant to testify in the case but felt she had to. Umm, yeah she did have to because the lawyers made her. It is not like she is being a hero here or something or that testifying was optional. When Nigella was asked about her drug use she says that it was a story put out by a PR firm to trash her reputation because her ex-husband said he would trash her if she didn't come back to him and clear his name. He, of course wanted his name cleared because he choked Nigella in public and was photographed doing so. When he was on the stand last week her ex said he never personally witnessed Nigella doing drugs.

  1. I don't like her. My opinion was formed when she was a guest judge on Top Chef a couple years ago. Her and Padma were just whoring it up for the cameras/show and it was just too much for me. I have zero interest in her personal or professional life.

  2. That sounds like a denial.

  6. How the fuck did the husband not realize that much was missing? There may have been drug use, but I'm not buying Nigella giving these bitches that much to shut them up.

    Her ex is a prick.

  7. That post and title didn't make sense.

  9. 41 million dollars is not correct. It's more like $1/2M.

  10. I'll take a half million dollars to keep quiet!

  11. I like her purse in that pic.

  12. I will happily give Enty £685,000 if he will give an exchange rate where you get $41M back!

How is what she said not a denial? If you're saying it's a lie to destroy you then you're denying it.

  13. The amount missing is around $400,000, not $41,000,000. Anyway, at 53 she's got a decent rack, but maybe getting a little floppy.

    1. I've got to be the most incompetent clicky-maker on the internet, but least I'm hung like a goat. Once again, Nigella's floppy knockers.

    2. Not to split hairs but I have a goat, whose penis always seems to be out, and it is not big at all. It looks like a long pencil. Just throwing it out there...

    5. That makes more sense. I was coming back here to tell you that what he lacks in girth is made up for with his, extremely, large balls... :D

There is nothing in there that says it was made up. It says that it was made public in attempt to damage her reputation.

  16. In the CNN article it says the ex husband never saw her use drugs, but he suspected it.

What is posted above neither confirms or denies it. And really, who cares if she did? Nobody deserves to be choked.

  17. Who gives a shit if she smokes/smoked weed and does/did lines? Big fucking deal.

What DOES matter is that her dickhole husband CHOKED THE WOMAN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. WITH WITNESSES, FFS.

  18. @caralw: There are plenty of people who deserve to be choked, some until the last flicker of life leaves there eyes.

  19. I like Nigella because she doesn't shy away from eating. Her ex is an asswipe. What did he expect her to do? deny he chocked her? they have pics dumbass, tell the world it's ok for men to choke women by going back to him? How would that have changed his image of being a man who abuses women?

As far as the drug use, hard to say, I'd hope she at least kept it from her kids, who lets face it, are the real victims in this circus

  20. Look at the picture

There is no indication that his hand is squeezing and choking her. His thumb isn't squeezing into the soft meat of her neck. Her eyes aren't bugging out of her head, as would happen when choked like that.

He is lifting her head up, making her look him in the eyes, while he rips her a new one for hiding her drug addiction and paying off the assistants.

  23. $41M? I want to visit your bureau de change, Enty. Crazy exchange rate.

As for Nigella, she's not on trial here; the two that deceived and hoodwinked her & her ex are so why should she admit or deny anything? I thought there was a basic understanding of law here?

  24. I believe PIP has expressed my thoughts exactly, thank you PIP!

  25. Whatever, Count.

West End Girl is correct. She is not on trial.

  26. I thought she did admit, on the stand, to using cocaine? That said, she's not the one on trial, her hubby is a fucktard, and Count - apparently she wasn't being "choked" choked, however, the photo probably understates the strength of his grip on her neck.

  27. I watched a piece on this case today. The sisters are claiming she did drugs WITH her children and they hid that from her husband. They claim she let them spend his money for their silence. Sounds to me like they embezzled and got caught. Throw the celebrity under the bus and get the attention off themselves.

  28. Good to see you @Selena!

  29. Yep, this is one of those times I'm glad I read the real details of the story on another website.

Nigella bought the younger sister all kinds of dental work to help her feel better about herself, she welcomed her into the family and her children are very hurt by the betrayal. This embezzlement happened over the course of a few years, not all at once. I hope they get thrown in jail.

  30. @Harry: I'd tell her there was an 8ball in my hotel room with her name on it.

  31. I think Nigella is a very good chef. I'm trying her special Christmas recipe this year.

    Cold turkey.

  32. Fuck. I just went and read some of the articles on this mess. I am just so bummed. Nigella is one of my idols. Honestly, I collect her cookbooks. Read them like novels. Worship her recipes. Follow her shows. Admire everything about her, and honestly, I am quite disappointed in her drug use. She obviously is having quite the tumultuous year, and I'm sure there will be betrayals coming from many people in her life. But, I don't know. I don't quite buy her testimony. Hopefully, this is all a lesson learned. I shouldn't judge what happens behind closed doors to people, so I will of course remain a fan. I hate so many celebrities, and I foolishly always put Nigella on pedestal. Ditto for Bono and Harry Connick Jr. God, I don't want to know what "really" happens with these people. I have a feeling Bono is a total sham. LOL.

And finally, I honestly need to know how drug users stay looking so fabulous: Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Nigella. The fuck?!?!

  33. Dlisted has more of her statement, during which she also explains why the dude choked her. What a psycho he is!

    Dlisted article

  34. Nigella's words (emphasis mine)

"“But what actually happened was that somebody walked by with a very cute baby in a stroller and I said ‘I am so looking forward to having grandchildren’, and he grabbed me by the throat and said ‘I am the only person you should be concerned with. I am the only person who should be giving you pleasure’. That is what happened.”

So she doesn't even say he choked her. Will you all get off the choking thing finally.

  35. She did admit to using coke-check out the Daily Mail.

  36. Winning and class, you're doing it right.

  37. Ok, the 'floppy knockers' and denial of choking - this site is officially in the toilet. I imagine the comments are making it lose readers by the ton. Very sad, I've loved it for years but I'm sure I'm not the only one leaving because of the vile sexist pile-ons.

  38. @lollydarling: but the years of hurtful mansogynist stereotypes, schlong shaming and Estrogen Uber Alles were totally fine though, huh? Don't let the door hit you in the ass, hypocrite.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't think being even gently held by the throat is remotely pleasant (unless you're into that kinda thing) Whether squeezing or not it was obviously a controlling threatening move, for whatever reason.
I think you'd be very hard pushed to find anyone that moves in their circles who hadn't used coke.

  40. Oh please. I don't buy his over the top claims. He's notorious for bring a hot headed ahole and is trying to take her down in a pathetic attempt to save face.
