Susan Sarandon Gets Stoned For Awards Shows- Except Oscars

Making sure she does nothing to endanger any future chances to win an Academy Award, Susan Sarandon was quick to point out in a recent interview that although she gets crazy wasted and high for all awards shows she doesn't for the Oscars. While on watch What Happens Live the actress says she has been stoned at almost all the awards shows she has ever been to. I have a tough time believing that she got ripped for all awards shows but drew the line at the Academy Awards. If there is one you want to be wasted for it is that one. Think about the others. They all have food and booze readily available and are shorter in length and are just one big party while at the Academy Awards you are forced to sit there like you are in church lest you offend anyone who might vote for you or not vote for you in the future and the thing drags on forever. If you think the commercial breaks are long at home, think about sitting in those evening dresses with eight layers of Spanx on and tell me you don't want to be wasted for that.

  1. I took that to mean she got especially wasted at the Oscars.

  2. Oh yeah. Agree with Mary Anne. Susan Sarandon may like to party, but she's no dummy.

  4. Sarandon is a professional and the Oscars are a part of the job' no doubt she goes to her Zen corner and meditates while playing Fluck, Marry, Kill during the commercial breaks. Dear God, I would LOVE to party with her. It would be a raucous intellectual romp! ( nothing like 2 know it alls holding forth and talking over each other, I say)

  5. See, she's never done it for me. I liked her in Rocky Horror, but thought her holier-than-thou act got old real quickly.

    1. Exactly Nutty! Nothing better in the World than dancing with a professional bullshitter with brains and ego. Best legal high there is, IMO :-)

  8. What has she done lately? How is it some people become celebrities without much recent work and others.just fade away. Gotta wonder how that works.

  9. I guess everyone has a different reaction. I remember her appearance years ago on Inside The Actors Studio program. She struck me as being fairly dumb; opinionated the surface but not much substance when they've delved deeper.

  11. @ DBrown' I got charm, rich vocabulary, and surface knowledge but she had great moves until she was Finally pinned. That maze of BS and flattery/aggression and topic change is a BLAST if everybody keeps cool and laughs.

  15. I think it's lame when people over the age of about 25 brag about how high and/or drunk they get. I don't care if someone wants to smoke pot but acting like they are cool for doing so while in their 60s is kinda embarrassing.
