Ke$ha checked into the same place but I doubt she will be able to stay for months on end like Demi did. It would be great if she could or would but she will feel a ton of pressure from her record label and management to hit the road and support Timber and the new record and make them some money. They will tell her that she can get better after she tours and then they will tell her she can get better after she records another record. It is a vicious cycle and record companies never want to let you off.
When you have the number 2 selling digital single of all time (Tik-Tok) the record company wants you out there and bringing in that gold. I really do hope Ke$ha gets better and listens to herself and the people closest to her.
I hope she gets better soon - it's good that she has recognised she has a problem, whatever it might really be - and hopefully just a month will be enough to set her on the straight and narrow. She did look a bit thinner in the Timber video but not to an alarming extent ...

ReplyDeleteI didn't really have an opinion about her until my bestie and I watched a marathon of her show and we were both enchanted by her. Anyone that can get their annoying mother to wear a penis and balls suit onstage is ok in my book. I wish her much luck in her recovery!

Rehab isn't solely for drug use. Lovato had a drug problem, but also was bulimic, a cutter, and is bipolar. I believe rehab addressed those issues, not just the drug use. It is possible that she is there for rehabilitation due to an eating disorder.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with my own MH and I work in MH as well. It is RARE that a person only has ONE diagnosis. Actually, I quite literally don't know anybody -- friends, family, or clienys -- who JUST have anxiety or JUST have issues with alcohol, to name but two. Comorbidity is just the nature of the beast.

ReplyDeleteAnyone would get an eating disorder after the public body-shaming she got because of some pap pictures of her frolicking on the beach with a less-than-stellar ass. Kesha has endured more than her fair share of shit from the press and blogosphere. Personally, I love her and I'm sure she she'll get her demons under control, whatever they may be. It's nice to see so many caring comments for her here.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before and I'll say it again. Speaking from experience, an eating disorder IS an addiction, just like drugs and alcohol…except harder to recover from, in my opinion.
