  5. My avi is not just for The Year of the Horse. It also reps Horsefaced Elway and his team. I'm in a pool and if they win I can win cash or prizes so go Manning! (Chokes on those 2 words).

  6. Broncos. I watch for the food and drank!

  7. GO HAWKS!

    I'm already nervous.

  8. It's on in the middle of the night here. Some people do stay up to watch it, though. If I stay up to watch anything, it's the Oscars.

  9. I'll be watching the Superb Owl instead.

  10. Middle of the night here too. Not that if watch it anyway. Aren't there like a million adverts and it goes on for 10 hours? Woosy American footballers - watch some rugby and see some real men in action

  12. I'm with @Reno - team food and drank! Both teams have their strengths and it will be a good game.

I'm cooking for the party again this year so I'll get to see the plays and miss the stupid commercials. Suck it, gopapa.

    1. @Seven - just for future reference today - I'm leaving for several hours so won't be responding. I will check back later and definitively opine where appropriate but then leave and won't check back so no need to respond. Have a nice day. (I promise last comment about yesterday:)

    2. @texas, I'll miss you but I hope we gather again at sunset with wine. I know you won't read this but I hope someone will email it to you. Have a lovely day!

  14. Broncos 24-17.

While listening to WFAN this week, I heard them talking about Richard Sherman, self proclaimed "best corner in the league". They say he only works one side of the field. How can you be the best corner in the league and do that? While with the Jets, Revis matched up against the other teams best WR, where ever he lined up. Left, right, slot, didn't matter. The commentators, players and coaches where saying that there would be no way Sherman covers Demaryius Thomas if he lines up in the slot. Those Denver's big play chances.

Anyway, I think Denver has too many weapons, and the Seahawks won't be able to keep the ball out of Peyton's hands long enough win the game. Aint no 12th man in NJ to help the Seahawks.

That said, I'm not betting on the game. I have money in a bunch of block pools, so I'm just rooting for scores.

  16. have to work, in a restaurant, it's going to be a nightmare. All tables will camp and get increasingly belligerent and drunk. hoping the tips will make up for it.

  17. It's allllllll about the vittles!

We'll root for the Broncos since Peyton is a Southerner.

  18. How many buckets of sugar do you use on Super Bowl Sunday, Mama June???

  20. Couldn't give two craps!

  21. Don't have two fucks to give about this Superbowl, really.

  22. I predict the CDaN Bookclub will have to be reacheduled AGAIN, unless none of you guys care? What say you, Kristin, Reno, feraltart, Meuxelle, HammerGirl, maybe keeshlo and everyone else? We don't watch football, just alls the basketball, so I am still down. What about you guys??

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Sugar, well honey we use at least 5 pounds a week, and more for Sundays what with making the family dinner and all. It's more than most people think is good for ya, but ya only live once, right?

  24. Football for me is 3 seconds of action followed by 3 minutes of commentators talking over each other and staring at players stand still on the field.

  25. Beach in Honduras. I will start at the north end, stagger to a new bar every quarter, ordering food and drink at each. I will be almost home when it's over. Drinking and staggering are expected here.

    Seahawks 27-21

Halftime is for staggering furthest down the road. I know at least 4 bars are showing this!

  26. TTM: Either way is fine with me. I can bring my kindle wherever I go. I'll keep checking back to see what the concensus is!

    ReplyDelete
  27. TTM, I am fine to keep it as scheduled. Your Sunday is my Monday, so I will be contributing from work most likely.
As for which team, I love Seattle, hope they win.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @TTM I'm good either way. Just let me know what time to roll out of bed.

  29. Oh for fuck's sake. I knew it was a mistake to respond to that shit. Live and learn.

No, I will not be watching the Superbowl. The Superb Owl, on the other hand, looks like a barn burner.

  33. Okay, ladies, looks like it's a go! Of anyone sees Hammer Girl and Meuxelle, could you let them know? Let's aim for 6 pm mt, if that isn't too late? Then I can reasonably expect to not get too much a a side-eye for chugging wine. Look for the lamest blind item reveal!

    So excited!

  34. Looks like I'm going to have to skip this one. I haven't read the book yet. :( Keep me in the loop for the next one!

  35. This one is Denver's. All the way, baby...here comes number 3.

  36. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  37. Peyton Manning and the Broncos without a doubt!! GO BRONCOS!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Don't care who wins. Like most Americans, I'll have it on, and I'll make some wings and nachos and have a few beers, but I mostly watch for the commercials (both to enjoy the good ones, and laugh at the bad ones).

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well I know it won't be the Colts as they were IDIOTS to get rid of Peyton Manning!!!
My pick is Bronco as I adore Peyton, he is a sweetheart and a total beast on the field.
