Desperate for work this former B+ list mostly television actress who is now a straight to on demand movie actress approached various play directors this past week about any roles they might be willing to give her. She said that it would be great publicity for them and that it would bring in ticket sales. The one who seemed kind of receptive wanted her to read for the part. She said she wouldn't read and that she doesn't audition for anything. Probably why she doesn't work.

ReplyDeleteI think Mischa needs to shine in a smaller role in a movie. I think if she takes a small but important role in a great movie and is really excellent in it, she could start her comeback. #justmy2cents #notanagent

ReplyDeleteAgreed Penelope. She was afraid she wouldn't pass the audition. I guess she never thought maybe they were trying to determine which part she would be best in. Granted auditions suck but they can be a necessary evil.

ReplyDeleteand if you are an actor or actress without stage experience unlike many UK actors, the directors need to know if you got stage chops, it is a different kind of acting

ReplyDeleteWait...I remember a blind when her show was on TV that said there was an actress so dumb that they read the scripts to her. She was also to LAZY to learn to read because she was "pretty" and didn't need to learn..... someone would take care of her.
ReplyDeleteShe gets a bit of publicity for her handbags on this side of the Atlantic. She was also in a touring production of Steel Magnolias a few years back, and the reviews weren't bad. She also had enough sense to do the press for local newspapers and be gracious about that. TBH I think there's worse than her in Hollyweird.
