Blind Item #1

This B list mostly movie actress who is a C by her recent body of work but has that A+ name recognition keeping her artificially inflated was told by a director that she was too heavy to play a recent role. That wine diet is probably hurting her. Our actress really wants the role and has started working out four hours a day to try and burn off the extra twenty pounds she has gained. I think she looks great.

    1. Hehe, Alitalia's new but it totally makes sense as an auto-correct. The lovely Lady Heisenberg gave me 'Alitastotle' yesterday - gave me the giggles :)

  12. Could this be Anniston? There was an article today in the DM (shocker!!) about her gaining weight because she's comfortable in her relationship and Justin makes a mean Carbonara? Meet the Millers didn't get much press (if at all) and I would say JA looks great but about 15 pounds heaveier

  13. AYE! We're the Millers, and body of work because she stripped in the movie perhaps?

  16. I actually don't even want to guess this blind because it hits a litttttle to close to home for me :/

After several weeks of nightly wine drinking (only a glass or two of red to ease work stress), I've packed on MAJOR pounds. I knew it was bad but when I went to put on one of my favorite light & breezy (formerly) loose spring shirts that I haven't put on since last year (I used to wear it weekly) it didn't fit. At all :( So whoever this actress is I really feel for her. Suddenly not recognizing your body anymore is demoralizing. Today's incident was the final straw and all the motivation I need to take drastic measures to drop the weight.

Now, if I only had "four hours a day" to hit the gym...

Sorry for the personal post but I needed to share. Any of you gals ever been there? Tips for getting back on track?

@PJ - can you afford one hour to sit in a sauna and sweat it out? Seriously, that works. A good friend of mine is a jockey and that's what she always does leading up to an event.

Otherwise, just stick to steamed green veges (no starches), salmon and apples for a week and the weight should drop off. Don't do it long term though.

    2. @PJ - I know it's all fad-worthy at the moment, but the 5:2 diet is effective and so very easy, because you get to eat (and drink) normally 5 days a week and only 'diet' (really eat very little) on the 2 days. I'm not usually one for fad things or diets - they are difficult, want you to buy and cook different things, etc. I prefer lifestyle alignment - but this is easy and (most importantly to me) has probable - still be studied for long term - attendant blood chemistry benefits. Check it out, and see if it looks like it would work for you.

    3. Thanks you guys! I'm not a fan of diet "plans" that feel like I have to pay more attention to them than an advanced math course (hence never ever any Weight Watchers for me), but for now I'm going off wine, processed sugar, starches, dairy and processed carbs until I'm back down to my old self :) (Tough but the last time I did it I lost 15lbs in just over 3 months-slow and steady weightloss as recommended.) I suppose this was always in the back of my mind but I was just sort of hoping there was an easier way around it...

      Thanks for the advice everyone!

  17. Red Wine makes you hungry. So when you drink it you are probably snacking more than often. Try Champagne. You can get some decent kinds for just a little more than wine.

    1. Thanks Derek! I think for now I really just need to ditch the booze altogether for a few weeks to jump start my weight loss but the champagne tip is good to know. I DO tend to snack when I drink red and it's usually carbs that are my snack of choice which certainly doesn't help... I'll definitely give the occasional glass of dry sparkling wine a shot once I've lost a fair anoint though; it's very tough to consume too much of that-about a glass is all I can stomach :)

  18. @PJ I had a cheese plate and a bottle of Shiraz for dinner last night so my advice would be no good to you :)

  22. So if I try any of these diet pieces of advise, can I keep drinking wine??

  23. I cant stress this to people enough---WINE MAKES YOU GAIN WEIGHT. Why do you think they push it at expensive restaurants so much? To order more food.

  24. My wine/weight 2 cents:

I'm 41 with two young kids. I drink one fat glass or 2 small glasses of wine pretty much every night, and eat a balanced diet (carb, protein and fruit or veggie with each meal). I'm pretty confident that if you work out at least 5 days a week, for 45 to 60 minutes a day you will maintain your weight and be fit. I love working out, and I love drinking wine and having treats when I want. Sometimes I think about the perfect model body I would have if I gave up booze, but I feel like I have the best of both worlds (sorry for the Hannah Montana that may be playing in your head right now)

*extra tip. Delay your wine as long as you can in the evening. I try to do my dishes/pick up my house/put away laundry before I crack my glass. If you start later one glass of wine with a good book/tv show will relax you without putting on the pounds

U guys r right. Read a comment earlier about red wine and increased appetite or carbs. I have a box of wine here. I made parmesan chicken breast with sauce and pasta yesterday.

    However ....

The pasta was calling me. I made the pasta and seasoned it with Basil, salt and pepper and aye it like that without the parmesan chicken. When someone suggested that red wine and carbs are evil friends....I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD MY PASTA LUST.

  27. @Fancy and friends (kids tv show name??)

I hate to jump on bandwagons, but my husband asked me to try brown rice pasta (gluten free) with our pasta dishes. I loved it, couldn't tell a difference, and don't feel as puffy the next day. I have yet to do the spaghetti squash, but that's next on the agenda :) I love Italian food
