Nigella Lawson Banned From US

It's going to be pretty tough for Nigella Lawson to shoot another season of The Taste if she can't be a judge on the show. The international cooking star was recently banned from entering the US because of her previous admissions under oath of cocaine and pot use. It's interesting that she was banned when she tried to enter the country on Sunday since she was never convicted of a crime in England. Scotland Yard decided to not even press charges against her. The ban seems to be simply because of her admission. There are a ton of people who have admitted to using drugs that are still allowed to enter the US. Generally you have to be convicted of a crime and be trying to enter the US on a work visa. The news, which was first reported by The Daily Mail seemed to indicate she was traveling to the US for a vacation rather than work.

With the case of Justin Bieber, he has a green card so he gets a little more leeway when it comes to drug charges and arrests and even convictions. There has been no word from Nigella about the incident except for a mystery Tweet that said she was going offline for awhile but would be back.

  1. It's pretty hard to have a cooking show without using pots!

  2. Not bothered about the Taste but I made her fudge recipe last week and it was the best fudge I've ever had. For information.

  3. LOL Leeky!

But there's no way that was the reason, must have been all the coke she was snorting during the border interview. Because they said it's pretty much constant, right?

  6. Maybe she showed up at the airport with a big white booger? How can't that be a vacation if she is working? I guess The Taste will be looking for a judge. I vote for that English baker dude shacking up with the Mexican chef.

    1. @henriette - the baker dude dumped the Mexican chef and scurried back shamefaced to his wife, reputation as England's sexiest bread maker in tatters.

  7. The Rolling Stones can enter the US but she cant. What nonsense!!!!

  8. Nah, this could be legit. I recall a story of a college professor from Canada who was denied entry because a Google search at the border turned up a 20 or 30 year old paper he wrote admitting to LSD use and touting its benefit for treating certain things.

You should see her relatives! They are all HUGE and about a ton between the three of them. She's got to work to keep that shape.

    1. Lol @ Henriette! That was funny to read. And her being a cook isn't gonna help her waistline. I had never heard of her except in the tabloids. Never even seen her show before. Shes got to be a step up from rachael ray and her horrid raspy androgynous voice. Oddly enough its worse when she laughs..

  14. So how does every rocker get into the country ?

  15. This is bullshit and I smell the aroma of vindictive ex behind this. She's not been charged with any crime.

  16. So she doesn't have a green card? Let her work in her own country. Problem solved.

  17. I kinda love her!!!!!!

  18. Maybe she should try flying into Colorado.

  19. Are you fucking kidding me with this bullshit? This seems all kinds of shady, and a lawsuit waiting to happen. If she wasn't convicted of anything how can she be denied entry. And there are a million examples of famous peeps who are self-admitted drug users and are allowed in the U.S.

I strongly recommend Nigella's recipes for: pancakes, brownies and triple chocolate chocolate chip cookies. The recipes are on my blog.

I don't watch The Taste. I tried. I hated it even though Nigella and my imaginary boyfriend Anthony Bourdain are on it. Oh well.

Cooking Channel is airing all of her vintage cooking shows, like from when she was on Style. Those were the days....

    1. I hated The Taste the first season and I love Anthony too. The second season was much better for me, but Nigella made some bad picks for her team.

Considering that N.Wood died when she was 10 years younger than this lady is today, that's kinda ironic.

Nigella, you may not be able to enter in the US (probably as a revenge by the powerful abuser you were married to), but you can come into my house whenever you want.

  21. Yeah, this isn't the whole story. There's a lot missing and I'm sure it will dribble out over the next few days.

She was okay on the Taste. She came across as a nagging mom at times though.

  23. nigella has always had a huge rack. i think theyre natural lol. but dont you just want to like smush your face into her chest?

  24. Ridiculous. Let's see if our government now gives a visa to Iran's new pick for ambassador to the U.N., a POS who was involved with the group that took over the US embassy and held Americans hostage in Tehran for 444 days in 1979!

  25. I think they're real and they are def spectacular

once again I laughed my ass off one morning when Matt Lauer lost his shit interviewing her. dude couldn't keep his eyes off of her.......it was so funny

  26. Some of the these posts are idiotic..."Doesn't have a green card?" She's not MOVING here. Ask half of the country down south if they have a green card.

  28. I think her bastard of an ex-husband is behind this, frankly.

    ReplyDelete
  29. More victim blaming. She allowed her husband to be fleeced of hundreds of thousands of dollars to cover up her drug use. A court agreed. Just because y'all wish it wasn't true, doesn't make it false.

  30. Nigella is a joke. She isn't even a chef, she's a pseudo-journalist with an interest in food. She complained that Martha Stewart was after her husband, when all Martha said was the tv person married to Charles Saatchi. Martha has more talent in her little finger than Nigella has in total. We have real chefs in this country, we don't need her.

I believe she did all that coke too, did you see how thin she suddenly got a few years ago? I believe the assistants testimony about what went on in her household.

Her ex-husband knew what he was doing when he took their former Assistants to Court - he knew that under Oath, she would have to admit to drug use, and he knew that with that would come repercussions for her career. I hope he marries that coathanger Trinny and she takes him to the cleaners when it all falls apart. He's such a sadistic old arse - what did she ever see in him in the first place?!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Don't think Nigella's tits are anything but real. Damn!

  33. Not surprised. Every few months there is a news story here in Vancouver about someone that was blocked from entering the US because they admitted using drugs in their past, or some internet search brought up some link to some past bad behaviour despite never having been convicted of anything.

Your border guards do not joke around! The shitty thing is it's so subjective. Like, this is BC. So, most of the people crossing the border have at some point, at least smoked weed. But it's like the border guard can just be having a bad day, and single you out. Or you might look at him the wrong way and piss him off or whatever. I don't like things that are that subjective - too much power into the guards hands and they are just human. Humans with a lot of power, and power corrupts! The rule should be if you have a criminal record, you can't come in. Having done drugs in your past shouldn't be a valid reason you can't cross the border.

  35. US Border agents can turn you away essentially for any reason they wish. For example a DUI is considered a misdemeanour in the US so most US border agents will waive a Canadian with a DUI charge through BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO and you have to admit to the charge if you are asked to or you will be in big trouble because I am sure they can pull up your record in a flash.

There is a special visa for people with criminal records but she doesn't even have a criminal record if she was never charged or convicted. And yet they let the Mayor of Toronto who admitted to crack use into the US many times after he admitted this.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think of all the crimes that illegal residents pull and they don't get deported. In the most recent effort at immigration reform, the suggested threshold for felony DUIs leading to deportation was 3. As in, you can 2 felony DUIs and all the misdemeanor DUIs, just don't get that third or then we'll deport you. Really pathetic.

So saying I once did coke, keeps her from working in the US and paying taxes for said work here? It's tough to believe, but not surprising.

  37. I have no words.. okay I have a few words, but seriously?!

  38. She should've been a violent sex offender instead. The U.S. seems to be okay with letting them into our country.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I believe it was because she admitted to the drug use while under oath that got her. She wasn't convicted of anything but that admission plus the high public nature of the trial may have been enough to put her on the no entry list. She can do an expedited appeal and should be able to get into the US in a few days or weeks.

  40. What the Hell is wrong with this country? Women with great knockers should always be welcomed with open arms! Fuck!

  41. My guess is her ex-husband had her flagged. Too bad, she knew what a creep he was when she married him.

Her last cookbook, on Italian food, was roundly panned.

Her father is a well known right wing Tory who writes about how climate change/global warming is a myth.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Her ex probably did have her flagged, he's nasty enough to do it. The strangler was a friend of Nigella's late husband. He got with her while she was in mourning.

  43. When I hear stories like this it makes me sick. Wasting govt time and $ time on crap like this is ridiculous. Oh she used cocaine!!! Where is the govt crew tracking bieber?? Why hasn't she been banned?

  44. @Texas: Like they said, Green Card.

I had a buddy here on a Green Card. After his first bust w/ weed, and the year probation that goes along with it, they told him that next time, he would be deported.
