Blind Item #1

This B list mostly movie actress, who has the talent of a D lister and A+ list name recognition has been trying to bully a woman into giving up the rights to a name so the actress can have it for herself. The actress has also done her best to call in favors to halt the production of a television pilot based on the woman's life. The actress is hoping that if she ties this up in court she can run through the life savings of the other woman and she will cave.

  4. Jessica Biel for the B lister. Isn't she opening a restaurant or something?? Maybe the name she wants to use for it is already taken.

  5. There's no way Lindsay is together enough to run this scenario. I could see Katie, maybe?

  6. No clue and good to see I'm not alone.

  7. Well that explains all the unusual celeb offspring names.. in the event they go into the industry they won't have this problem

  8. Sounds like she's trying to garner a title (name) for a possible production ie 'Queen of the Silver Dollar'

  9. I think someone is planning a series based on a famous person & the actress is trying to swoop in and gain rites to the famous person's name in order to fuck over the one planning the show?

  10. It sounds to me that someone wants to open a business using someone else's historically famous name--like "Rosa Parks' Cafe"--but the historical person doesn't want to allow them to have the rights to do so.

  11. Doesn't a Strasberg own the rights to Marilyn Monroe's name and estate and Licensing?

  12. Jessica Alba - Dark Angel

  13. Rachel Zoe has a new sitcom in the works based on her life.

    Past client? Alba? Hudson? Diaz?

  14. Confusing wording -- I think it means a movie is being made based on someone's life who is not an actor or necessarily famous even, and some d list git shares that name. I have no idea who it might be, but it's a plausible scenario. Sinatra and Madonna have tried to prevent others using *their* name too, so it does happen. Usually it's a fail though

  15. Heard she's having money problems right now too... wouldn't take much to go through her savings.

  16. When Zoe's assistant Brad left, he took Demi Moore with him. Perhaps there's bad blood w/Demi. Still don't know the "name" they'd be fighting over.

    1. Nice one, Fussy Face! A tv show "honest toddler" is in development according to imdb.

    2. Yep. Honest Toddler is a hilarious Facebook page, the posts from which we're recently made into a book. The owner of the page and all this has been very vocal on FB, openly naming Alba. I don't really get why this is a blind.

  18. Could be Lohan and trying to snatch some porn actress's handle - probably some thing like Dome Inmy Keister.

  19. Zoe isn't an actress.

  24. I doubt this is Alba, because, while Enty is always eager to disparage her acting talent, and to specify a difference between her talent level and her fame, he pretty much always says her talent is "C" list, not "D."

  25. alba battled a blogger in canada last year. honest mommy something like that

  26. If this is Alba it's not a blind. The writer who runs the Honest Toddler blind (and is hilarious) was very vocal on twitter about the controversy. It wouldn't surprise me if she has a tv deal she's so funny.

  27. I read just last night (weird coincidence) that the rights to Marilyn Monroe's name were sold for about $50 million recently. And by "name" I mean the right to use her image in advertising, etc. Wasn't she in some Chanel ad with Charlize Theron?

And I do believe she left her money to some Strasberg. But I'm too lazy to look it up.

  28. This definitely has to be Alba. She has an ongoing trademark dispute with the Honest Toddler blogger, who has a book series and a potential TV series with Darren Starr!

  29. Jimi Hendrix has a biopic show coming up; the Marilyn project in production is a film. However, I think this blind is referring to the Aaliyah biopic series coming out. So who owns the rights to Aaliyah's name...

  30. So I found this Laineygossip post about Alba/Honest Toddler (which, yes, turns out to be hilarious).

Read the embedded letter as well. Best bit? Honest Company's lawyer is called Erica J. Van Loon.
