Blind Item #4
This former A+ list performer(singer) who is now mostly a Vegas and casino fixture is married. Loves declaring what a family man he is. Well, our singer must really want this performer from Thunder Down Under to be in his family because the two men are practically living together and are fixtures at each others shows.

ReplyDeleteTopper, Brandon is The Killers lead singer. They formed in Las Vegas and sold 22 million albums. Very popular group who could have been considered A list earlier in their career.

ReplyDeletelmao @ the aging hippies who think the musical world only revolves around the acts they grew up with. To me the thought of Donnie Osmond ever being A+ list anything is ridiculous. Maybe he was among the pre-pubescent female population back in the 70's but not in general. He needed his sister to sustain a general audience TV show.

DeleteHe was huge in the 79's and early 80's. Prime time TV shows and selling millions of albums and show tickets and now the #1 non cirque show in Vegas.

ReplyDelete1970s gal here. I couldn't *stand* the Osmonds. But back then, amongst the teens, Donny was most definitely A+, to my dismay.
He never pinged the gaydar though.
I don't think Brandon Flowers or any of the Killers would be caught dead in a casino. Certainly not as a performer. Also I don't think Flowers goes around bragging he is a great family man. I think he admits to struggling with things.

If either he or Donny has one of the Thunder Down Under performer's attention, there must be a financial component to it at this stage of their life. It couldn't possibly be the strong mutual attraction this blind describes unless it involves someone young and attractive like Brandon Flowers.

ReplyDeleteWay back in the day, there were rumors about Rod and Elton John. The two of them were VERY good friends.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, when a reporter directly asked about it, Rod didn't deny it outright. He just played coy and said that he and Elton both had very strong sex drives.
You gotta remember - in the late 60s-mid 70s it was SO fashionable to be bisexual.

Of them, the only singular ones I can realistically label former A+ performers are Elton John and Rod Stewart.
For those who still think it's Donny, I urge you to consider that he performs nightly WITH HIS SISTER MARIE. I seriously doubt he would risk parading his boyfriend in front of her every night.
Elton has been with partner David Furnish for 21 years and plans to marry him this month (May 2014). They have 2 young children. I don't know whether he's declared his love of being a family man, but I can totally imagine this being him, although I agree with star that the attraction for the Thunder Down Under guy probably has more to do with Elton's fame and wealth than the type alluded to in this blind.
@Squeezebox and Anomily, you both present very convincing arguments. By process of elimination, I think the the field has been narrowed to either Rod or Elton. I'm leaning toward Elton due to the length of his relationship with David Furnish. Rod has had so many wives I've lost track.
ReplyDeleteDonny Osmond is at the Flamingo and his billboard was still clinging to the ruins of the section of the hotel that was being demolished when I was in Vegas last summer. 112 degrees and his giant chompers looming above an apocolyptic landscape. Very memorable.

ReplyDeleteI know Donny's family and can say with surety, this isn't him. Brandon Flowers has admitted he believes his Mormon faith, but makes mistakes, I have assumed he meant drugs and alcohol. Go to mormon.org and watch his video, it's pretty inspiring.
