ReplyDelete@Derek they were both in I Love You to Death, which based on dates was likely filmed before My Own Private Idaho. Since MOPI is directed by Gus Van Sant and the movie where he indicated River's addiction issues were just starting to show, it could fit.

To be clear, that was not actually my guess, I just had River/Martha feels because of everything I was reading, which is how she got brought into this thread. My actual "what the hell why not" guess was Heather Graham and River Phoenix.

ReplyDeleteI believe she's been in recovery for a significant amount of time, but I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't still go to bars sometimes.
If this is River, plz don't let the actress be Samantha Mathis - she was in Thing Called Love with River, AND she was with River, Juaquin and Rain (the sis) on the night he OD'ed at the Viper Room. I don't see my beloved Sam as a chatty barfly tho :( River, what a loss
