There were lots of perfect scores last night and then there was Candace Cameron Bure, who never really was great at all this season despite having Mark Ballas as her partner. Last night also had lots of performances, including one from Iggy Azalea that didn't really go as planned. It might have had to do with having her current boyfriend and a previous hookup in the same place at the same time. When all was said and done though, Maks is no longer the Susan Lucci of Dancing With The Stars. He and partner Meryl Davis finished on top and Derek Hough and Amy Purdy finished second. Candace and Mark finished a very distant third. Len Goodman also announced during the show that this might be his last season. Not seen on the show, but talked about yesterday by Brooke Burke was her thoughts that the show made a bad mistake getting rid of Brooke and bringing in Erin Andrews. Brooke says Erin is not the right fit for the show.
Brooke Burke should throw shade at Erin Andrews. She's useless.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about Brooke BUrke last night. I'm so glad they replaced her. She always seemed to have a huge stick up her ass and was so serious. She's the one who isn't a good fit for the show.
Brooke Burke had a bit too much wine to make a comment like that. I really like Erin Andrews, I find her hilarious and she wasn't as plastic as Brooke. The Iggy Azalea screw up was hilarious - she should have just taken out the earpiece to begin with, not announce to everybody that she has a problem in her ear. I thought Ariana Grande was more professional compared to her.
ReplyDeleteLoved the second season of this show. Drew Lachey was adorable. I had pretty much no idea who Nick and Jessica were, but I picked his side in the divorce just because he was so cute sitting in the audience supporting his brother.

Agree with you, @Canada Girl. Brooke Burke should have stayed classy and kept her opinion to herself. I personally like Erin Andrews. She brought her personality to the interviews and she's just funny. I wasn't impressed with Iggy Azalea, both the performance and the song (and yes, they called that a song?!).

ReplyDeleteOh and Erin has more personality in her little toe than Brooke could ever have. Erin and Tom B. are a good fit together. They both have a sarcastic sense of humor and don't take themselves too seriously.

I want to know what Adore meant when she said she had heard things about Laganja. The scene was cut to make it look like she was talking about her being fake, but there was definitely something more personal that she was referring to. Seeing Adore cry broke my heart, I wanted to scoop her up and hug her.

ReplyDeleteGreetings all - love the comments. As a long time DWTS viewer, I agree with the comparison to soap opera. It's to the point of silly.
ReplyDeleteVery happy to see Maks win, and with a partner who was very much his equal not only in dance but handling his moods.
Lastly, after seeing the bloopers aired, the show should offer the dress rehearsal for viewing. Bet the ratings would be sky-high.

DeleteEvery season I try to quit DWTS, but it keeps drawing me back. It is fun, you get to see people totally out of their element trying to make it work, interesting storylines, Derek Hough's choreography, and of course, Tom Bergeron. This season I was an Erin doubter, but now I'm on that crazy train. She is fresh, fun, funny, and much better at the live interviews than Brooke. She keeps Tom on his toes (which makes him even better).

I thought I was over this show but got sucked back in. Maks and Meryl were awesome. I'm so glad Maks finally won. Brooke needs to shut it. I'm not crazy about Erin, but Brooke added nothing to the show.

ReplyDeleteI would love to see the dress rehearsal footage! Now that the show is so old you really start cheering for the pros more than the celebrities - I'd love to see the interactions in the rehearsals and all the love triangles play out among the cast (Maks + Peta, Maks + Karina, Maks + ....)
ReplyDeleteI sort of understand the comments about Meryl's very unique face. I had a hard time watching them at the Vancouver Olympics, I thought she looked like a premature fetus. But something in her face has changed a little bit in the last few years and I think she is exotic and beautiful in her very unusual, almost freaky way.

I thought this season was one of the best. Candace Cameron should have been 5th. It was a toss up for 4th between ice skater dude & James. Meryl & Maks were were magic. They deserved the win. Amy was amazing, but Meryl was the one.
