Edie Brickell And Paul Simon Have Been Physical Before

The police reports in the Edie Brickell and Paul Simon domestic violence case have been revealed and to me it sounds like Edie got a little drunk and confronted Paul Simon about something he had done to break Edie's heart and the two then fought. Paul had blood on his right earlobe after Edie slapped his face. Edie for her part had a bruise on her wrist and other injuries which she refused to show the police. Edie told the police that the couple had previously been physical with each other in fights. Earlier reports indicated that it was Edie's mom called 911 but now it seems as if it was Paul who called the police. The incident happened in a cottage on the property that the couple uses as a recording studio. The couple is due back in court but I have a feeling the whole thing will either get dropped or they will have to attend some anger management classes.

  1. Poor Paul looks like a sad little frog in that photo.
Edie sounds like a bad drunk. Got a drunk's face too. Too bad.
She said Paul was a "spoiled little baby" for calling 911.
    Celebrities, they're just like us!

  2. Girrrl, don't get physical. There's no excuse to being the one to escalate. A notch in the crotch doesn't keep it from being abuse.

  3. I had no damn clue those two were a couple. How did I miss that?

  4. That look on her face is all, "What I am is what I am, are you what you are OR WHAT?!"

    They should call Al.

    1. @Wendy Davis, nice to see you coming out of your "chloset" to offer your delightful opinions! You're such a gem, a princess, a diamond in the rough! Happy Friday! Don't let the hairdresser cut your locks too short!

  5. If they want to smack each other around, that's their business. Not cool IMO, but this clearly isn't the first time.

  6. I read the title and thought "hmm they have sex. They get physical. Good for them since I sure as hell don't." And then I read the article and it all made sense. So I take back my "good for them."

  7. He should have slapped her back. Equality.

    1. Your own experiences and/or desires nothwithstanding, Ms Davis, there's no equality in domestic violence.

  10. Poor Paul, being married to an abusive alkie has to be rough. All the poor guy did was grab her wrist so she wouldn't be able to strike him again, and he gets dragged through the mud.

That is why I have a strict rule: one free shot, if it happens again, I call the police and you leave. I'll be damned if I'm going to get baited into something so a crazy bitch can play the victim.

Put her on the curb with the rest of the trash, Paul. One tour and you can recoup the GTFO money.

  11. imagine the outrage if it was Paul who slapped Edie and then called her a spoiled baby for phoning 911.
Certain people (Nancy Grace types) would be calling for his head.

  13. Exactly Seven and Hairydawg. No reason to ever get physical in a fight unless it's the make up sex.
She'll be assigned to alcohol classes and he'll get anger management. Betcha.

  15. I wonder what he said that broke her heart? Also it was first reported that they only had 4 fights before, or are there more? They both seem contrite and I always wondered about their marriage so I'm glad it's lasted and mostly loving but yeah, Edie needs some therapy.

Every time they appear in the news I've got an ear worm of What you are is what I am and on and on. I always liked that song but ENOUGH.

  16. Sorry to hear about their problems but in the beginning there was love. The strings of love are trying to kill them.

  17. I bet what Paul said to break her heart is "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" Poor lil fella.

  19. Paul was also married to Carrie Fisher. He must love them soused and crazy.

  20. I agree, Renoblondee. It's called "situational relationship violence," and it's technically not DV because both parties are involved and it's not really an issue of power and control.

  21. Yep, I have had the "pleasure" of knowing a few couples who knock each other around. Neither party would be in any position to claim victim.

  22. Paul looks beyond sad. There was a blind about Edie cheating on Paul a few weeks ago.
