Blind Item #2

Negotiations in the pre-nup are not going well for this A+ list mostly movie actor. His girlfriend wants a minimum of $20M to marry the actor because that is how much she claims she will give up in earnings to marry the actor.

    3. Well, aren't you the productive one, Violet. I went to the Farmer's market. Lots of fresh veggies. Smoked whitefish spread. Then stopped at a couple of greenhouses.

I'm planting a lot of shade loving plants in various pots to group together in a shady corner of my deck. Lots of colorful foliage.

Lots o people there, Lady H?

    4. Sounds more productive than me Charlie. What I'm actually doing is putting off helping V jr 3 make a replica model of the Iron Man for Monday morning.

    12. I'm still in bed... I was up late drinking jäger and taking pictures of the moon. Plus I'm like 90% sure I have pneumonia. So I have to rest up before my shoot tonight. Sounds like a good excuse, right?

    13. What are you doing a shoot for, Krystie Rachelle? I am folding laundry rraallyyyyy slowly while the kids are playing outside

    14. Nothing exciting TTM just a family shoot in a beautiful mountain location. Thought about camping while I was up there. I imagine the moon will look totally amazing up in the mountains and over the lake. Ok maybe I just convinced myself to stay. Breathing be damned!

    19. @Hammer-I had no control of the remote!!! The worst was with That Venice chick when Leo had a LIT candle sticking out of his ass. My mother kept saying, "Why didn't they light it after they pulled it out of his ass?" Honorable mention went to the scene where Jonah Hill was jerking off in the middle of a party, and his (pretty decent sized) dong was hanging out. I scrambled to my iPad and was able to say "Ladies and Gentlemen, that dong was prosthetic".

My parents are, as of May 1st, both retired and watch everything Netflix sends them. God only knows what else they've seen, but I will check what's on deck before I agree to a movie with them again!

    1) I'd assumed that the deal was already hammered out and locked into place before the announcement.

    2) Why would she lose earnings?

    1. Sounds like extortion to me. She knows he won't back out now. It's too humiliating. She'll make him look bad if he does.

    2. 2) She's likely going to give up her high - powered Barrister and/ or wants to be a political wife.

  10. I agree, if Clooney wants a pre-nup, 20 mil seems like a basic amount to write down given his wealth. To most people it's a huge fortune of course.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Bloody hell, I should have been a lawyer,,,

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'll go Depp/Heard. I can't imagine Clooney not pulling the plug on that if he ran into that kind of request. I see him as very smart and not at all willing to let a Goldigger get over on him.
I can see Heard saying she's up and coming and that it will stall her career, etc....

    1. I'm thinking that too, if she's saying they're going to have kids. Time away from her busy schedule of bad roles in movies no one cares about.

  14. George ego will not pull plug. Stacy wedding and pregnancy did a number on his ego.

  16. Rumor has it George wants to break into politics, which is the reason for the proposal and non-whore gf. If that's true, she'll probably quit her job to campaign with him which would lose her money. Maybe not 20mil, but still.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'd vote for Dr. Ross.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Clooney. He wants a career in politics hence "marriage" to a lawyer who's one of the leading international counsels in Human Rights Law. If you know anything about barristers in the UK (trial lawyers in the US), for a case they can earn an average of $500,000 - which they receive probably 10-15% of depending on their commission. If they try say 10 cases a year (it's usually more) they would be earning $500,000 - $750,000 a year. Add to that bonuses, chambers' dividend etc. you're looking at $1million. It could easily be twice or 3 times that with bigger money cases. So not at all out of the realms of possibility that Almuddin wants a decent pay out guarantee. Also she'll want money to look the other way as George's b/f in Italy is still very much in the picture. And there'll be a set fee for any children produced. And they say that romance is dead. PAH!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Romance is not dead. It's negotiated.

      Delete
  19. I'm sure that a contract with George means being on call 24/7 for photo ops and red carpets so she will probably be expected to give up her career. She is probably negotiating for salary, compensation, expenses, wardrobe budget and a retirement fund because this gig won't last forever.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Cecilia, I think George has already decided that she's allowed to have that pull over him, with the engagement and all. Her age, if she wants kiddies that might be part of the deal too. Either it's a love match and that's it's own thing, or as has been said it isn't and the deal is already done (with whatever inclusions). I'm not sure - I think it's either love or for a political stance, personally.

But I still agree with you - this one is Heard.

    1. Hey, Guido. I can't have hosta. The white-tail deer clobber it like beluga caviar. The other night, there were 8 of them in my front yard. Additionally, the Dutch in me can't stand using and ditching a perennial. Altough, aybe just a few. I have some extra pots.

  25. Well I've been seeing all these photos of her coiffed to a T, stylish outfits with matching manicures and shoes.

If she is a lawyer working the usual 60 hours a week, you don't have time to look like a movie star every day unless you have help so I am thinking she's not getting much work done hanging out with George and being ready and available for photo ops every day.

So really 20 million is chump change given where is he going to get a woman who looks respectable to the rest of the world to agree to his conditions otherwise.

  26. Thanks @Galleon Hair and @Cheryl. You both make some solid points.

  27. I am just about to install a hosta garden in an area where I give up getting any grass to grow. I just need some help to get the base down and looking forward to purchasing some relatively new varieties that have come out along with the usual suspects with some periwinkle thrown in around the hostas.

I have a fenced in backyard so the deer that do frolic in the field behind me won't get at the hostas.

My challenge this summer is to keep the rabbits from eating my impatiens in an unprotected area, I have grown impatiens for 25 years but for the first time a rabbit or rabbits ate all the flowers off the impatiens as they were just coming into bloom last year a 20 foot long swath of them and it was too late to replace them.

Looked it up online and they are known to eat the flowers of impatiens and I saw a rabbit in the vicinity on several occasions mostly at night.

Apparently rabbits hate the smell of blood meal so I am using it in the soil and will keep augmenting it hoping to turn off the rabbits. The rabbit population around here has really increased though the coyotes have moved back to this area this spring so that should help.

  28. LOL @ signing bonus!

Rabbit story: my friend's husband had rabbits when he was a kid. One day, his brother accidentally left the hutch open overnight, and he went out to feed the bunnies only to encounter a Friday the 13th massacre in the backyard. The neighbor's dog was apparently a fan of hasenpfeffer. It was so traumatizing, he wouldn't even eat chocolate Easter bunnies after that.

  29. I have hosta growing all along the side of my house! I'm landscaping my back yard now and it's such a tedious process. Trimming the unruly fruit trees a little late. I have a massive walnut tree that blacks out the sun, and nothing will grow underneath it because of the tannic acid from the nuts. So my dogs are forever tracking in dirt and I'm over it. Thinking of either building a deck, or digging it out and doing dry landscaping. Well see now I'm exhausted already.

  30. There is no way in hell Heard is giving up anything by marrying Depp. The only reason she has any name recognition at this point is because of her association with him.

The Future Mrs. Clooney, on the other hand is not only giving up her salary, but also any respectability as a lawyer in the future. If she ever does go back to work, she will be a special correspondent for some news show or something like that.

I don't see why Clooney would balk at that, though. I mean, isn't that one movie's paycheck for him?

    ReplyDelete

    1. No it's actually half a nespresso paycheck. No biggie. Just pride which he already lost when Stacey got married and pregnant

      Delete
  31. Oh no Seven of Eleven that would be traumatizing. When we were kids we were unwittingly fattening up rabbits first for an aunt and then an Italian friend. My dad would get rabbits, often times a pregnant female, and we would take care of them. My dad made a contraption where they could eat grass on the lawn in a contained frame with a screen on top so they couldn't jump out, it was big so they had lots of room and then they fertilized the lawn at the same time. We never realized when they were being eaten when they went back and the new rabbit or rabbits arrived. We just understood they were only on loan.

  32. But is this really the wife who'll win over undecided American voters? Conventional wisdom has you picking someone milquetoast, not a foreign born, trilingual lawyer who represented Julian Assange. That may not play well with half the electorate.

    1. Not so much milquetoast as just plain stupid. Stupid and subservient. :(

  33. There is no way I believe that all of a sudden George Clooney has found true love that has caused him to totally change his tune regarding marriage and maybe a family

This is a business arrangement.......and they are working out the business details.

All of his "romances" seem like business to me. I am really beginning to believe he is closeted. Or something else he doesn't want the public to know.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Isn't Depp not having Amber sign a pre-nup? Must be true love lol.

As for Clooney, why does he keep setting up these fake romances? This one isn't even remotely believable. @Trixie, totally agree that he is marrying the wrong woman to appeal to the American public.

    ReplyDelete
  35. George. Really, that doesn't seem like a bad figure.. relatively, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  36. $20 mill????? That is one expensive beard.

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's rumored that Clooney wants to run for office but it's a stupid rumor. His life would never stand that kind of scrutiny and he doesn't need or want the hassle of political office.

I don't know why he's getting married. It has nothing to do with Stacy the gold digging wrestler, that's for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Get that money girl!! 20 million PLUS all the other perks of being married to George Clooney, she might be a beard but I'm thinking it's not a bad gig

    ReplyDelete
  39. Clooney is setting himself up to counter any thing negative that could be coming out about him. I bet he didn't realize negotiations with a lawyer would be difficult. He should've.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Think George also, she is goldigger. Isn't her culture about "moving up the ladder"for women? Also every one thinks it is politics, which seemed a little weird to me, especially if he was going to move to London, can't be a politician of any kind not living in the US. I think it is for the senior advisory position just recently mentioned in the latest article about Sudan. Remember a while ago a "rumored"article also stated him and Amal would be working on a project together. No matter what though, I think since so many people think it is not about love George will loose a lot of respect. I guess only time will tell what everything is all about, and it won't be long before he starts cheating on his anorexic, so skinny she has to buy "teen"clothes that more or less(not) fit, and that are not sophisticated enough for the job she holds or for the future she may have with George.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I disagree with Clooney. I think it's Depp. Why would Clooney's wife lose 20 mil by marrying him? Although, why would Heard lose 20 mill either?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Diane Marie, the 20mio is why I think it is Heard, too. I take it to mean that will be her lost earnings from marrying him and having to give other job opportunities up to join him for events and travel etc. That is rubbish of course, if anything Heard has more opportunity from being Mrs Depp. On the other hand, she's asking for a relatively small amount of his money (relative to his means) that will give her independence should she need it. It might even make him feel secure that she's with him for him and not for his wallet. She does seem fairly goal-oriented to me - whether that goal is true love or something else I couldn't know.

All of that applies to Clooney's fiance as well, but probably more validly in her position (that she could have those lost earnings), depending on how long their marriage is. Still think it's Heard though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is Clooney BUT I'm not buying the run for political office line of phooey. George swings both ways and his life would never stand up to the background check.
