Blind Item #3

This B-/C+ list mostly television actor from a very hit cable show has a very famous actress girlfriend. He also has an anger problem. He confronted a staff member at the front desk at the hotel where he is staying and demanded the return of the pot that had been in his room. The cleaning staff had seen it and called a manager who had disposed of it. The manager was brought out to talk to the actor and the actor only calmed down when the manager suggested they could call the police to sort it all out.

  7. I'm not sure he's got an anger problem. When they clean your room is it up to the housekeeping staff to make sure all the pills you have are your prescription?

My point is he probably thought they stole it and who wouldn't be pissed. Regardless of the legalities. They're there to clean the room not make judgements or assist in carrying out law.

Hotel is wrong in this case.

    2. I was staying at a hotel on location for a month. One of the housekeepers who I was friendly with showed me one of the gaffers rooms. Quite a few guns in there. Was it her job to make she he was licensed for them? No she was there to clean. PERIOD.

Totally agree with you @Sherry. Thy should do their jobs. Clean and get out. Period.

    4. I was on a business trip in Toronto several years ago. I assumed since it was decriminalized, no one would give a big whoop. I thought I was discreet and kept the smell to a minimum. A few minutes later I received a very polite phone call from the hotel manager reminding me that smoking anything was not permitted in the hotel and I should consider the phone call a friendly reminder. Another guest had complained and I very quickly apologized and felt like an ass.
It's a hotel's responsibility to make sure that all guests are safe and acting accordingly for the safety of all other guests. If that was over an ounce of pot, that's illegal in most places, and if the hotel had indeed called the police, he would have definitely been in jeopardy. If it had been a bag of coke, it probably would have turned out much the same way. They most likely have a policy in place to dispose of illegal items. When I was in school overseas and living in student housing, I had some pot go missing from my room after cleaning day. Was small possession legal in that country? Yes. Was I going to go to the school and tell them I'd had pot stolen from my room by the housekeepers? Uh, no.

I agree with Sherry, also. Either the housekeeper or the manager stole the pot and wanted to cover their ass.

The housekeeper of course couldn't STEAL it and report it, but she could have tapped the bag.

Mind your business and clean the goddamn room.

Oh, btw, have done housekeeping. Despite the smile on their faces 90% get pissed when you dont leave a tip. Things like this will happen when u dont tip. Just sayin'.

Tip ever day. The housekeeper that cleaned your room all week might b off on checkout day. Why should the lady who cleaned only one day get the cash?

  14. If they are in LA pot is legal with a card. Now the hotel is REALLY wrong.

  15. Sherry is right about this. Not the cleaning staff's or the manager's job to confiscate weed. Not their jobs to swipe it for themselves either. The guys got plenty of reason to be steamed. And also steamed at himself for leaving the weed out. Put it back in your bag before you leave the room stupid. ..... And yes, always leave a fiver with a "Thanks for cleaning" note every morning. Sometimes you can lose your weed if you don't.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'd be pretty pissed off too if my stuff disappeared from my hotel room.

  17. Note to self...

DO NOT leave room in the morning without stash weed AND leaving a personal note AND a $5....

    Phew, anything else?

Heck, I thought all that came gratis when you checked in.

    What was I thinking?

  18. I understand if they had checked out and then the pot was discovered and removed. But, if they were still checked in at the hotel, this is wrong. I don't want the cleaning staff touching any of my stuff. I use those little credit card safes whenever available and throw as much stuff in there as I can fit.

  19. Don't know who it is...but this doesn't mean the guy has an anger problem. He was probably just jonesing and wanted to find it badly. I've seen it before from pot smokers who can't find their weed. My ex's friend once tore her house a part in front of a group of us and started freaking out, cause she couldn't find her weed. Usually people on pot are happy, calm and relaxed.

  20. I'm not saying it was the case but you also have to consider seizure laws. Look at the auction notices where Sheriffs are selling the cars, houses etc where drugs were seized. I doubt the hotel, or its mortgage holder, would want to lose the property just because some actor wants to use drugs there.

    ReplyDelete
  21. If it was over an ounce wouldn't the hotel then call the police and say "oh hello, our friend in room 420 has massive amounts of marijuana in his room, thought you should know"? Instead of "confiscating" the large amount and "disposing" of it themselves? Wouldn't the hotel then be in trouble for possessing such a large amount? If it was under the legal limit, why confiscate it?

I understand that it is a hotels job to ensure their guests safety but does that give them a right to act as judge when it comes to personal, non threatening belongings? Sometimes I put my pills and vitamins in a small snack bag instead of carrying a bunch of bottles, would they take it if I left it on the top of my toiletry bag in the bathroom? Idk, it just seems like a violation of privacy for the housekeeping staff to decide what someone can and cannot have in their stuff. Obviously guns are totally different, were talking drugs/drinking items here. Another thing! If some 18 year olds are staying in a hotel and the housekeepers find alcohol in the room, would they take that? It seems kind of mothering, IMO.

  23. I guess I'm in the minority here but I kind of agree with the housekeeper/hotel manager. If the housekeeper found other obviously illegal materials (child porn, automatic weapons/explosives, an open suitcase full of meth, evidence of a bloody struggle) should she just ignore it?

For most people, myself included, pot is no big deal. But a little discretion, please, if you are in a setting where your stash might be found and frowned upon.

  24. Whenever I start getting a cold, I make a tea from rosehips and horehound; when traveling I always bring some. Problem is, horehound looks like weed. I buy it in the bulk foods section, so there's no packaging, just a plastic baggy. (I label the hell out of it!) If someone threw away my horehound I'd be pissed!

  25. @Wen.... Yes.

And have issues with alcohol, drugs, anger management, self image, the neighbour's dog, keeping "up" the championship contest on how many ho-strippers they can f*** before a baby-mama bomb drops... just to name a few

  26. blind says hit cable show- not pay or premium cable. Definitely not Schreiber or Sheen. What kind of moron leaves pot out in the open in hotel room??? All he needed to do is keep it out of sight in one of his bags. Depending on where hotel is he is lucky they didn't call police- sounds like a learning moment dumbshit actor- keep drugs out of sight in bags in hotels and just because I'm a celebrity I don't get everything I want.

  30. I am sorry but this is wrong! Hotels are not the police and should have in no way confiscated and "thrown out" (which I think they are full of it) the substance. If they had reason to be concerned then they should have confronted the guy and then taken action or asked him to leave and find a different hotel. I would have been pissed off as well.

Well hope he learned his lesson to not leave out your goodies.

  31. The only one I can think of is Evan Peters (American Horror Story, I know he was Quicksilver in X-Men too) and Emma Roberts as the girl friend. The two of them have had altercations in the past, which might be why the "anger problem" was mentioned. I imagine the actor was staying at a place where pot is not legalized.

    ReplyDelete
  32. To avoid this unfortunate issue I would suggest: 1. Leave it in your bag, so they don't run into it and have to deal with it. 2. Put the no housekeeping sign up. 3. Use the hotel safe in your room to store and secure valuables

    ReplyDelete
  33. Because the hotel would call the police for pot?! LOL
Because a housekeeper would give the pot to the director whereas the actor is still staying at the hotel? LOL
    Never !
The director would asked to the actor to be low-key or put away his pot but he might menace his client for pot

  34. I never heard of a hotel that isnt discreet and sure wouldnt touch any private stuff. So why did this one do that? there's a big missing piece to this story.

    ReplyDelete
  35. For God's sake, why would anybody leave anything of value right out in the open in a hotel room?? Whoever this dipstick is deserved to have it happen due to his own sheer stupidity!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm not saying the guys not an idiot for using discretion. Remember the story JLaw told about the butt plugs? You don't want housekeeping to touch it, use the safe or lock it in your bag. Agreed on that point. And also the tipping. Always tip them every day.

  38. Hotel was waaaayyyy wrong. If there was an issue with the pot call the police.

Actor was also wrong. Hotel rooms are not secure places. Lock your stuff in your suitcase or the room safe. Don't be stupid.

  39. I have never heard the words "anger problem" and weed in the same sentence before.
Usually the second takes care of the first.

  40. @crila I've heard some very rare anecdotes about people losing their shit over weed, either because they were high or because they couldn't get high. But it's a bizarre phenomenon. I've never personally known anyone to get more than mildly miffed when they couldn't find any smoke. It's just marijuana, FFS!

  41. @Harry Knuckles - I finally looked at your avi. From afar it looked like someone had shopped tits on Vigo the Carpathian.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think this is bs. If I was that actor I would have said yes let's call the police. The manager would have to prove it was weed - the actor could say it was tea. The manager has admitted theft which is a criminal offence I believe...if the manager produces the real weed ...he is the one in possession of it not the actor. The actor could then say I don't know what the hell that is bit its sure not my tea !
