Blind Item #9
This former A list entertainer (singer) who still has B- list name recognition because of her unusual name was a one hit wonder, except for the drugs, she still hits that a lot. Anyway, she supports herself by sleeping with her A list celebrity ex-boyfriend who is frequently on television and is getting married soon, but has no plans to stop exchanging sex for money. He thinks they are helping each other out.

DeleteSorry. It was just a guess :-) I was trying to think of her other big song but could only think of the one she had before she had been signed to a major record label.
My pet peeve rant about one hit wonders.... all one hit wonders had more than one single (after any hit single, the artist/band releases a follow up that will get some airplay as a nod to their hit single). It's that only one of the singles did very well on the charts.and has stood the test of time. Lisa Loeb is the perfect example. Stay hit #1, but name another Lisa Loeb song. The only other two songs that hit on the charts were I Do at #17, and Let's Forget About it at #71 (both on the Hot 100 chart). My beloved a-ha is the same (in the US). Take on Me hit #1, but they only had two other songs chart -- at #20 and #50. As much as I love me some Morton/Pal/Mags, they're a one-hit wonder in this country.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Sade ever dated a famous celebrity. Kelis is a great guess. Say "Milkshake" and the song immediately comes to mind, but I couldn't name another hit of hers.
Adam Levine is getting married in July and is on the Voice. Don't know who his celebrity ex is though. .Carly rae jepson?
