Everyone But Whoopi Fired From The View

Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy found out yesterday their contracts with The View will not be renewed. Immediately Barbara Walters and Rosie O'Donnell said they would step in and join Whoopi if they were asked. The show has seen its ratings plummet since McCarthy was added last year. I think just about everyone knew that adding McCarthy was a bad idea and when you throw in all the issues that Sherri is going through, it was just too much to overcome. Also fired were some executives on the show. I would assume that a bunch of guest hosts will be shuttled through to see how they perform and interact with Whoopi and that it will be similar to what Kelly Ripa did when she was searching for a new co-host. Bring everyone in and see who resonates with the audience.

    1. I've never watched it. The more this site talks about these shows the more I realize I don't watch as much tv as I thought I did. Cookie for me!

  2. They are considering putting men on their panel. Havent seen this show in years--not anything I need to replace The Price Is Right with.

  5. Ray, that would give that show some edge, Mario would TRY to get that sinking ship, floating!

  6. I think that people are tired of the show. They liked the original line up and viewership got progressively worse as they kept bringing in different hosts.

    1. Like the direction your thoughts have gone, Unknown.
That show wasn't about their opinions , originally. No one cared.
It was always about 5 opinionated women duking it out on Nat'l TV.
It's when they started believing their hype, that things went sugar to sh*t for the viewer..

    2. I really liked Behar. I think she was a huge loss to the show. I'm no fan of Rosie, but I did like watching her piss off Hasselbeck. Perhaps hiring relatively unknowns would be a good step.

  13. Are they finally going to hire Rachel from Real World SF? Poor girl tries out every time and never gets picked! Always the bridesmaid

  14. Yes, Mario Cantone would be great!

Bolt-On Tits McCarthy (what is with the dress smushing her boobs in this picture?) is ratings kryptonite. Hope no one hires her ever again for anything. Time to be an Aging Yacht Girl.

  15. Bill Rancic has been on a lot lately- I wonder if they are thinking of having him on.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I would be happy if they hired someone educated and with half a brain. Of course I don't watch this yuck fest, so it doesn't really matter.

    ReplyDelete
  17. This firing was so bad that I wonder if these two yokels will be back after the brief hiatus. It looks like they won't be.

  18. How does Whoopi get a pass? Unfunny, ignorant, and irrelevant. When was the last time she did anything even mildly entertaining? Yeah, bring back Rosie because that will make all the difference. Should have gone for the clean sweep.

    ReplyDelete
  19. They fired everyone but Whoopi plus the guy who ran the show? Doesn't make sense.

  20. Mario cantone Margaret cho Ru Paul, I'd watch.

  21. Yeah only time I ever watched that show is if they have a guest I am interested enough to watch the video of it posted later or if another show covered what was said or done of that show.

I miss Phil Donahue which I watched as a kid - now that was a TALK show, intelligent discussion on important topics that tried to give both sides of the issues with no paternity tests and giving away obscene prizes.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think Whoopi is an intelligent woman. I don't watch the show, but from bits that I have seen, Joy Behar and Whoopi were the only ones who seemed to know what they were talking about. On the salty part, I would be pretty grumpy everyday too, if I had to sit next to an anti vaxer and a woman who thinks the world is flat.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Whoopi is just there for the paycheck and that's pretty obvious. I'd love to see some nut like Ann Coulter on the show. She maybe a nut, but she is intelligent and educated.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Obscene as in spending huge amounts of money or they were all freebies from the sponsors to the show like Oprah Xmas show, I know isn't it nice of her but something about it is just indicative of the rampant consumerism that rules us, probably to our ruin eventually. I find what Ellen does is better.

  25. Put a fork into it.

  26. Whoopi? She's the idiot defending Roman Polanski and made a distinction between "rape-rape" and "rape." See it on Youtube. She's either getting paid to sound like a jerk or she is a complete hypocrite.

"They fired everyone but Whoopi plus the guy who ran the show? Doesn't make sense."

You might be onto something, Boxes, Whoopi and this guy, an item?

Ann C would certainly be controversial she would be like Hasselback only she is good at throwing the snark back.

I think they need to rework the whole concept of the show or just start a new one.

How about a panel of gay men?

    ReplyDelete
  29. They need to bring back some real journalist that are actually educated & intelligent.

Elizabeth was really who ruined the show for me. Stupid, uneducated, & over emotional. Sherri's is a hypicrite with a massive ego. Claims to be a good Christian & Mom. Had so many abortions, she doesn't even know, had to have IVF to have her special needs son, who she doesn't have anything to do with.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I forgot to mention, at least with Shepard it seems as if she has some sort of cognitive problems and disabilities with a very low IQ, Whoopi is just being an uneducated and dumb ass.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The guy running the show, Bill Geddie, was fired too. He was/is Babwa WaWa's pet.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jenny supposedly got big money from her break up with Jim Carey to keep her mouth shut, she should just take it & move away.

Whoopi & Joy were really the only 1's I somewhat liked, but Sherri & Jenny were both just so stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I guess McStupid's fake glasses didn't raise her IQ like she thought they would.

    ReplyDelete
  34. There's a difference between Conservative, Christian, & Willfully Ignorant. Sherri & Elizabeth were Willfully Ignorant. Jenny thinks because she has some books with a ghost writer & reads new age writers she's smart, she needs to expand her knowledge, maybe take some college courses, since she dropped out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think Hasselcrack was willfully ignorant, but Shepard has cognitive issues.

  37. I agree----Sherry Sheppard is boring and dumb. Every time I watch the show (not often) she is either praising Jesus or talking about her precious son Jeffrey. They should have fired Whoopi ages ago though with her ignorant comments....

    ReplyDelete
  38. well if Elizabeth is so stupid-then I don't know how she was smart enough to move on to a better job before this all went down......as usual pick on the Conservative

like her or don't-but she is far from stupid

there are MANY things I don't agree with Whoopi on- most of all her stance on Roman P. and Woody A. But I don't think she is stupid either. when it's a panel of women they are always accused of being stupid. I'm sick of that attitude. Us women should be standing up for each other-not tearing each other down. would you feel the same if it were a panel of men?

I disagree with you about Hasselcrack, and I think a smart conservative, like Coulter, would be a great addition.

I forgot to mention that I think McStupid's piece in the newspaper really sealed her coffin shut. That was just insulting to anyone who could Google her thoughts on vaccinations. Now that was being extremely narcissistic AND willfully stupid.

  43. Three points.

    A) @Henriette, most hollywood liberals are hypocrites. See: Alec Baldwin.

    B) If Jenny thinks that Donnie Whalbutthead is going to support her, she's Nuckin' Futs!

    C) It's time to put 'The View' out of OUR misery. Have ABC bring back game shows during daytime. How about a revival of "The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour" with Jeff Dunham and Tom Bergeron?

And will someone expire to BaBa WaWa what "retired" means? ABC News lost me when it put that skank's name on the building.

  46. I haven't tuned into or been remotely intersted in this show since the Rosie days (I found Barbara's constant self-promoting and humble brags and the rest of the cast's ass kissing of her to be entirely insufferable) but I LOVE Whoopi Goldberg. She and I pretty much hold completely different views on just about everything but I can't help it. I've adored the woman since I was little and saw Sister Act and Jumping Jack Flash! Lol. (And don't even get me stared on The Color Purple ❤️)

Whatever they do, they should NOT let Barbara come back; we finally just got rid of her for f**k's sake. I say let Whoopi chose who fills the rest of the seats be it via guest spots or her immense roster of showbiz friends. It says a lot that she's the only one who survived the massive cut. Whoopi's awesome.

  47. well I agree with you @Henriette on Coulter-she gets a bad rap and is super controversial-and that is why she won't get the gig. not sure she would want it though.

but she is a smart cookie......and has some very convincing arguments when she wants to

I think Elizabeth had an opportunity and was smart enough to take it when the time was right-that's what I meant by smart

I'm also not disagreeing about Kelly P.-she just cracks me up

  49. McCarthy too hot for morning talk, and the fact that she is a whore turns some broads off.

Sherri is as dumb as a box of rocks. Shit, she dumb as an empty box.

Hire Demi Lovato. A daily gig could keep her in line, and if not, would be fun to guess what she is on each morning.

  50. Did anyone really think Babawawa would stay away? It was so dumb to have the retirement BS! I knew she'd want to come back on, I didn't think so soon.

Whoopi. I'm on tbe fence. I like some things about her, sometimes I get really annoyed. People say she's very nice and really chill.

Sometimes Joy irritated me too. Although I think she's a funny comedian.

I hope they don't bring men on, but they say they're heading in new directions and it seems obvious that means men. I prefer the cacing hens, with a man thrown in as a guest host occasionally.

Heck. Bring in Baldwin. That will mix things up. Just leave the attention ho at HOme.

    Anyway. I only watch occasionally.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think Walters has the same problem as Joan Rivers, they are afraid to stop, because then they will become sedentary and die. The buzz from the action and the attention and the $$ is the energy they live on.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Is controversial a nice way of saying Coulter is a cunt? If so, I agree.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous11:12 AM

I think it's just time for it to go. I think the biggest problem with The View right now is pretty much the same problem gripping most of the country. We've just generally become intolerant of points of view other than our own. Granted I'm only 27, but I can't remember a time when the US was as divided as it is now. I think the only reason The Talk is so popular is they avoid all of the hot button issues they discuss on The View.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'll use an American Football analogy. The political kooks on both sides think that they are on different teams, when the reality is the team is America and they are just the Offense and Defense. Until they realize this, we are doomed to be a divided country w/ little ability to make any progress.

  56. Hasselback was as ignorant and petulant in her last year as her first. Perfect example here on Mediaite, which is no friend of the left. If anything, most of the GOP agreed with Lipton at the time.
    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/the-views-elisabeth-hasselbeck-fumes-as-james-lipton-criticizes-mitt-romney/

Smart people can disagree and make good television. Stupid people become shrill; mean people become vitriolic. They have to be able to find someone better for the conservative perspective than her without hiring someone who is hateful just to sell books (Coulter).

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hasselbeck didn't leave on her own, she was FIRED. Like Starr Jones she was allowed to say she was leaving on her own. No one liked Elizabeth. Of course FOX picked her up as she meshes well with their blonde bimbos.

  60. Thanks PJ. I spit out a winner from time to time.

  61. Hasselbitch lives in my home town. Any time I see her with her children, she looks miserable and the nanny is close by.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'd love to see some real female journalists form a panel. Something new everyday, all new hosts each day. Maybe one woman as a moderator. That would be waaaay better than Whoopi and whoever else they pick

    ReplyDelete
  63. What the hell? Mario Cantone has fans? Can't stand that bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  64. A good thing to fire them both. The show absolutely got lousy without Joy Behar. Her absence is the one that hurt the show? She was fast, funny, and smart. Whoopi, Babs, and Joy were the only ones who actually knew about the topics they discussed and likely could talk without cards to read. Those other dodo brains have no clue. Rosie would be fine but doubt they'll bring her back. Kathy griffin is perfect- the spark they need but Babs hates her so doubt she'd ever permit her to be on. Someone new is calling the shots there bc every day they trash Hillary. The show is looking like Fox & Friends. Whoopi is so rolling her eyes all the time and there for the check. They will no doubt go with a conservative Hispanic female. Can't believe you said Ann Coultet. Yes, she's smart, but I think too smart to believe most of what she says. She called the Dem 9/11 widows harpies who were glad their husbands were dead if I recall correctly. See you next Tuesday!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah, when she said that about the widows that destroyed any respect I had for her. Rush and now George Will are using the ".Let's say the most offensive thing possible to get attention" meme. Whores all of them. I spit on them in my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm surprised Sheri Shepherd lasted so long. She should have been fired the day she said she had no idea if the earth was flat or round. Moronic isn't a viewpoint, it just means you're stupid.
