Off Topic

Gossip wise, the death of Farrah Fawcett on the same day as Michael Jackson probably led to better stories and talking about the tool Ryan O'Neal more. Farrah's poster in that iconic one piece swimsuit is still the best selling poster of all time.

    1. Lol. My dad was pretty religious so no lady-posters for him (not that my mother would have allowed it anyway), but I do vividly remember my uncle not having Foxy pics but rather those unreal 70's side profile paintings of beautiful dark skinned women with big Afros and hoop earrings "decorating" his place when I would visit him with my mom when I was just a bitty thing in the 80's 😂 Guess he was proud of part of our heritage??

  3. That was a bad day for show biz. however Farrahs was completely overshadowed. Michael's death gave TMZ its credibility because Harvey gambled his source was right and posted it hours before it was official. The real news outlets had nothing until mid evening.

  4. I had posters of Mark Harmon (circa Flamingo Rd era) on my walls. My love has never waned.

    2. Total class. It did not last long sadly.

    3. I worked for a baseball team Mark owned in the 80's and got to meet him a few times - totally worthy of your swooning :)

    6. @Violet it was indeed better than many similar night time soaps and was canceled too soon. Two seasons as I recall and not shown in syndication or on DVD.

Years later, Fairchild turned up on cable in the hilarious Fashion House (half telenovela, half parody of Dynasty). She still looked great, better than her younger co-star Bo Derek.

    7. I met Mark when I did a movie with Pam. He was very guarded and just waved hello. Said nothing but certainly wasn't rude or a jerk. Just appeared to be very private and most of all supportive of his wife. Didn't want to overshadow her was how it seemed to me. He was, if course, gorgeous.

  8. As an ancient person, I recall Farrah being interviewed by Johnny Carson pretty early on. She still had the winged hair.
I remember her talking about her mother scolding her because the back of her hair always looked crappy. Farrah said "I can't see the back of my hair, so it doesn't matter"

  9. Farrah dying on my bf's (now ex) birthday, made him kind of sad. Michael dying a few hours later, really took the wind out of his sails.

I know a few people whose birthday is today. Ah well.

  10. Farrah Fawcett in the end was, to me, a tragic story. She was wildly popular in the 70's as one of Charlie's Angels, the poster (which I proudly displayed above my bed) and marrying Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man!!). But by the end of her life, she had that weird Letterman appearance where she looked like she was high, bad plastic surgery, a career in decline and a dysfunctional relationship with Ryan O'Neal. I did feel sad when she got sick and died and the final indignity was that Michael Jackson died the same day and put her death on the back pages.

  11. While that poster might be the best selling of all time, I think the poster of Raquel Welch in the fur bikini (no sex slang intended)from One Million Years B.C. is more iconic. It also helps that I find Raquel Welch the best looking celebrity in history. Yes, I STILL would.

I remember people calling me a liar after I told them MJ died. They did apologize the next time I saw them but since it came out of nowhere, it was understandable. I don't think that it was anyone disrespecting Farrah that they reported more on MJ's death than hers, it's just that on top of him being the much bigger star, she looked like she was fixing to die the last decade of her life so it wasn't really a shock to anyone like Michael was.

  12. And Ed McMahon died like the next day. It have credence to the "celerity deaths in 3s" myth.

  13. @Fugazi Enty: Blinds have been boring as shit lately. Step up your game. Today we got our what, 3rd violent closeted rapper blind, What's Yer Fave Song By A Pedophile, and a smattering of lame cheating tales.

In all of the entertainment world, no one is getting drugged and buttfucked? No B- list coke whores are getting trains pulled on them in clubs for lines? No assistant to an A+++ list something is getting 6 figure bonuses for digging Hooker Holes in the desert?

There better atleast be some pipebomb reveals on the 4th. Don't make me opt out and take my talents elsewhere. I'm going to have my people start putting out feelers.

    1. Count I have noted your conspicuous absence. As much as the under age blinds enraged people it did draw you for more comments over all. OR maybe you're just busy with your kid? Nonetheless I've missed ya.

Begs the question though: Did you submit your pic? EVERYONE wants to see it.

  14. Yes @NJ a sad, strange ending to her career. Remember the story Joe Eszterhas told in two separate books, while she was alive, about her taking a dump on someone's lawn during a party.

Lots of rumors of inappropriate behavior with her son. I do believe she did drugs with him. Regarding the Barbara Baekeland type rumors, I don't know what to think. Druggies do bizarre things. Think John and MacKenzie. ..

  15. she was truly lovely and a very sweet girl at the beginning

her "look" really defined a generation

but it does make me sad how it all ended. she really struggled later in life even before she was ill. and her son's problems would be devastating to her now if she was here.

  16. I am not as sympathetic for MJ

  17. Count, we'll start our own site with reveals of nothing but tales of debauchery. Stories of crack whores and B-list Butt Fucking Bimbos from the BBC, booze for everyone, porn stars on our laps and gambling. You know what, forget the gambling, that just takes time away from hearing about Drew Barrymore gang banging the crew of Charlies Angels while Lucy Liu snorted coke out of Bill Murry's asshole with empty pixie stick wrappers.

All 100% true in some alternate universe so they can't sue. Even if they do sue, it forces them to bring their dirty shit out of the closet so let 'em. Whores* for everyone!

*Whores vary by availability. Men and women shall be at the ready for your use, special requests must be made in advance. Hermaphrodites available when in season only.

  18. hahaha @Count, agreed!

My brother had Farrah's poster above his bed. Just think how innocent that bathing suit and pose were, compared to what you see now! And she didn't have breast implants either, just small perky breasts--MUCH better than the bolt-on melons.

  19. I was shocked about MJ but sad about Farrah. She struggled hard to survive the cancer.

I saw the article on the DM today. It was rather horrifying to read about how she treats both her children & pets. And on top of it, it was saying she wanted multiples to become famous.
It figures. Someone like that gets to have 8 kids while other people struggle desperately to just get one kid.
      So F$&@!ng sad.

  21. a jerk off poster?! that's the highlight of her career? every interview I ever saw of farrah showed her annihilated, slurring, sloppy, giggling, utter bimbosity. I never watched her in Charlie's angels so May be she was great in that, but given the sick party atmosphere she added to in the oneal home, the sad state of her Son, her biggest accomplishment was having hard nipples in a poster all adds up to me not giving two shits about bubble headed bimbo farrah f'ing Fawcett.

  22. This post has got me wondering about possible charting systems for posters. Who's this week's number one? and so on.

Gawd but that Farrah one was everywhere.

  23. @Rowdy: I'd let Lucy Lui snort coke off my asshole. She don't even have to let me snort meth off hers, just make sure she licks it clean when she's done. They don't call rimming "Asian" for nothing.

  24. My brother also had the poster.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Count why do people even talk about her?

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Orvilla: Off the top of my head? I would guess that she is blowing her kids' cut of the show income on PR hacks to keep her name out there, so the void where her soul once resided can be filled by attention.

  27. Ugh, I hope Death becomes her.

  28. I'm sorry she died a horrible death but I don't think she was a nice person or good mother. It's hard to grow old when your career was based on just being sexy or cute like Melanie Griffith. They opted for bad plastic surgery and bad relationships.

  29. I met her completely by accident a year before her body painting video was released. There's only one other woman I have met in my entire life (several decades) with a bone structure as tiny as Farrah's. Farrah was and is still one of the two tiniest women I have ever met. her. She was very slim, but it was more than that. Her thighs were the size of some women's upper arms, but she did not look malnourished. she was extremely polite and gracious to the multitudes of autograph seekers. I can't comment on the rest of her life and behavior, but she was exceptionally polite and engaging with fans, even though she had been caught off-guard, then surrounded. I gave her a promo item from my company, and she made a point of examining it and commenting on it before thanking me for giving it to her. Say what you want about her, at least she had manners.

  31. I was never a huge Farrah fan, not even during Charlie's Angels (I had FIVE brothers, there was no way we were going to NOT watch it), but there were times she showed an amazing amount of talent. The Burning Bed and Extremities (which she also did on stage for years) were brilliant, and she was spot-on creepy in Small Sacrifices.
It seemed to me she actually was more talented at playing non-sex symbols, but I don't think Hollywood allowed her to do that very often early on.

  32. I hated that Farrah's death was overshadowed by MJ's death but the worst thing to me was at the next Oscar ceremony, Farrah wasn't shown at all during the In Memoriam section.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Obviously, it was counterproductive on Ryan O'Neal's list to have MJ die the same day as Farrah.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @rowdy. I agree about Rachel Welch.
I'm female, but she almost takes my breath away.
But I will say I think Farrah was really someone beautiful to look at too.

And they not copy cats like so many today. They went with their own uniqueness.

  35. I had no clue either of them had passed that day. I was at the bus stop waiting to come home from work. At least two dozen police cars came flying down the street from all directions. I was thinking I'd find out what that was all about when I watched the news at six. Never did find out the cause of the speeding cop cars....the news was filled with MJ's death, with Farrah getting second billing.

  36. And it all happened on my fortieth birthday. Seems like my childhood died that day...

  37. Audrey, it all happened on my daughter's 4th birthday. I feel bad she'll always have to watch stories about Michael Jackson every year.
    But happy birthday to you!

  40. I know Rowdy. I am up to 3 death threats in my internet dealings. The other 2 are a little more interesting since one was from an Y-list celeb (High Pitch Eric) and the other from a C-list porn whore.

Smoking hot black ass on the porn whore, butt she constantly rebuffs my offers to show her the wonders of the buttsecks.
